You must not have watched the video all the way through! I gave this one a really good drop! Admittedly some of my previous drops have been a little weak and I had to work up to it. But I dropped the heck out of my 11 pro max.

Those dust protectors may be totally useless to you or to most people, but to me they are invaluable. My job is particularly dusty and dirty, along with pocket fluff this caused the speakers on my old iPhone to become so dusted up the volume was noticeably quieter. I actually made my own plugs in the end. Wish this case had plugs for the speakers as well as charging port.
idk if you still have this issue or not but i cant recommend compressed air enough. the dollar tree has some 2 oz cans which should be enough if there is one near you
Dude the main reason I got the commuter case was for the charger plug..I hate dust and grime build up in that thing.. I also have dust plugs I have orderd from Amazon for when I want to use my slim stylish cases

the reason for the sticker (i’m assuming you got these cases at Best Buy) is bc they send the blueprints to the case company (they have contracts w Otterbox) w out even knowing what they’re naming the phone yet, just the exact size so that Otterbox can go ahead & start making cases so they’re there for supply & demand of the new iPhones. (i work at Best Buy, btw, as a mobile consultant so i’ve had a lot of questions since i’ve started lol) edit: okay so i didn’t finish listening to what you were saying before i commented so i apologize for that 🤣
My Note 8 (Defender Otterbox) fell from my motorcycle cradle yesterday on Interstate 10 in Arizona. I was going 80 MPH. It took an hour to find the phone (at night). God knows how many cars and trucks passed before it was located. Incredibly, it survived! The screen was cracked. When I turned it on it asked for the missing stylus pen!. Defenders are bulky, but they work.
it all depends on your personal preference and your lifestyle. It seems that OtterBox has a case for just about everybody. You just need to find the one that works best for you and your device.
For me its a good case.. its not too bulky like the defender, its not too thin like the symmetry. I never have to worry about my phone cracking if ever I drop it

And the whole reason we buy Otterbox cases such as the defender is the abuse our phones go through (military, extreme athletes, hunter, hikers, etc). Was a decent review and enjoyed the in depth and close up images of each, I just don’t feel you understand the customer base for each case.

The style and colors are ugly! The defender screen protector bubbled up after 2 years. I bought the symmetry, and my phone broke using it. It’s crap and the clear case turned yellowish. Got a new IPhone 11 not sure if I want the defender plus again. Great protection, over heats no style and is big and bulky.

My mom likes it due to how little bulk it adds, but it just does *not* feel protective and actual 50ft drop test videos from E A P seem to back that up since only the Commuter/Defender models end up with functioning phones at the end. It's slimmer than the defender, but I've literally accidentally chucked my phone into a wall because butterfingers and aside from some flecks of paint on the plastic it's fine.

The phone fell in between the step and fell to the concrete ground level. It survived using a one piece flexible case that T Bobile sold at their stores at the time.

Your opening remark on Apple not telling case manufacturers the phone names lost me $30 today. I was picking up an otterbox Viva series case at Walmart today. The case sticker said "2019 iPhone Large" the only other option case was "2019 iPhone Small". I didn't have my phone with my 11 Pro Max arrive today 30 min from my Walmart. So being reasonable It made sense it was the Pro Max and the Small was the standard iPhone 11 Pro. Most 11/XR size phones had "2019 iPhone XR" or "iPhone 11R" on the sticker so again "2019 iPhone Large" made sense to be the 11 Pro Max. Ended up being a 11 Pro 5.8 case. Walmart refused return with receipt because the packaging was ripped, it was Otterbox's theft packaging. Otterbox refused to let me swap the case with them and simply told me to come back when Walmart gave me a refund. Now I'm out $30 with a useless Otterbox case.

I had the clear symmetry case for the iPhone XR. I never dropped it and it had s huuuuge crack on it. It also heated up my phone and drained my phone within four hrs. I have tried four different otterboxes on various phones and they all heated up my phone. One case that is similar is the gear4 platoon case. I keep telling people this on otterbox videos lol 😂

I always go with the symmetry my favorite case. I drop my phone often and it's still not cracked.
