The water test result for Nothing Phone 1 is expected to be like this. The phone was not advertised as fully waterproof. It is rated IP53 water resistance, which is resistance against water splashes, and nothing more. Testing against medium water splashes or in a rainy environment would have been ideal for any phone of this IP rating.
Even budget phones around 15k-20k survive water test and they too don't advertise!
Don't play around...this is a segment above the mid level ones and needs to be waterproof like the others in the segment
But still its a good package
Fyi he also dropped poco F4 by removing the sim tray and it still survived lol. Nothing is overpriced!!

You opened my eyes, I was behind it's optimized software, but the bothering thing to me is even after giving around 35k(phone+charger+case), it didn't even survived your 5 minutes water test, where 15k - 20k phones survive this test, thank you Gupta sir.

Once acrossed guptaji's video about realme U1 a budget low end smartphone passed durability test, Later I bought the same device 3 and half years, it is working fine even though rough use..
Nothing never advertised as water proof phone. I purchased it at 21500 in sale. I think it is a must buy if you get this set around 20-23k range

Still shoulf have survived 5 min becoz motorola g51 15k phone survived 5 min easily …this phone is no at all resistance to water even for high rainfall days for a 30k phone its just a gimic and see its camera review comparison which fails to most of the phones in ultrawide,low light,OIS and specially a pathetic 50 mp front camera ..Gupta jee saved your money so thank him 😸

It can't be the same test if temperatures are different.
Since, temperature can drastically increase water's penetrating ability (capillary action, surface tension etc)

How legitimate it is to test a phone under water if the company has not officially given IP68 certificate for the device? Other tests and drop tests or the other wear and tear tests are valid. This is my perspective.
There are many phones which don’t come with ip68 cert but still pass that test… it is aimed at testing the durability in practical situation. Phone under water is a real issue

Irony is, most phones which survived the water test don't have any sort of IP certification, while Nothing claims to have basic waterproofing...
Yes basic in the sense its just water resistant and that too not for 5 min.
to get the certification [ip68/ip53 etc.] the phone company has to pay the certification provider
but to keep cost of phone low most phone companies dont buy the ip rating

Glyphs do not consume a lot of battery. I was worried about that but no problems there. 👍🏻 4.5/5
The camera on the other hand is above average, maybe with software updates they can make these better. I really likes the camera's on my Realme GT Neo 3.
These aren't bad but I have my doubts.
Photos are close to natural. 4.0/5
UI experience is very stock, minimal apps, I loved it. Feels different but is the same. Minor tweaks here and there. 4.6/5
One more software update and I guess this phone can be the budget king 👑

Other phones survive the water test and then don't survive on the look and feel or the expectation by giving cheap plastic body on 40k plus phones as well

As we have seen in this video, the tint of screen has changed to green, so i have a doubt whether it may get reversed or not?
But overall this is not a phone to carry at all in rainy season/ extreme foggy conditions or even its slightly drizzling.

I don't think it's supposed to survive as it's IP53 rated only. Other phones may have survived due to having lot of glue which nothing is not able to provide due to transparent back. What do you think?

bro never trust on IP rating this is really gimmick currently i am using samsung a52s having IP 67 ratining i am currently not able to charge device due to some liquid drop went into charging port i got notification phone will charge due to moisture in charging port phone is just 3 month old i went to service centre first they were ignoring it was water damage it was not even water damaged phone was clean not they are reparing free of cost.
ye kya baat huyi pura phone waterproof hai 3-4 waterdrop jake sukhane bajah se phone charge nahi ho raha servive centre wale charging phone headphone jack wala part replace kar rahe hai

Bro, the phone is not dead. When you installed the update, there was a bug in the update by which it crashed and the software couldn't update. Then you did the factory reset through recovery mode, which cleans all the data including system software. There is no Operating software in the phone that's why it is happening. This thing also happened to me lot of times when i used to flash softwares, I used to solve it by flashing new software into the phone.
Note for nothing phone 1 users: Dont update to the latest version, it has some bugs.
