    Original airdate: 10-15-62
Paul Belzer, a powerful New York magazine publisher (played by James Philbrook) has taken a liking to Christine Massey and wants to publish some of her short stories, but first he wants to get to know her children just a little better.
When he comes to spend the weekend at their suburban home in Ellendale, however, all hell breaks loose. Just when one of Christine’s teenaged daughters, Judy (played by Sandra Descher), is ready for prom night she suffers an emergency appendicitis. As a result the New York publishing executive experiences "Just another typical Saturday night at the Masseys’"
Sandra Descher (Judy) was born in Burbank, California, attended North Hollywood High School, and was 'discovered' by accident while on vacation. She appeared in her first movie, It Grows on Trees, in 1952 at age seven. By 1954, a news item reported that Descher was "the only long-term contract child player in Hollywood," having been signed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
In 1956, she played June Allyson's daughter Debbie in The Opposite Sex. She appeared in another movie with Van Johnson that year, The Bottom of the Bottle (1956). Around this time she guest starred with Ann Doran in the western series My Friend Flicka, and on the Cold War drama series, Crusader. Her last movie appearance, at the age of 12, was the cult favorite Space Children (1958), wearing, to her embarrassment, a bathing suit.
Starting in 1959 she appeared in series such as; "Dark Morning" of CBS's anthology series, The DuPont Show with June Allyson, The Real McCoys and My Three Sons. Her final television role was in 1966 when she appeared on Perry Mason as Sherry Lawler in "The Case of the Avenging Angel"
As of the 2000's, she was married to businessman Donald White and splits her time between homes in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, California.
Neil Nephew (playing Charles Whiting III) was an American actor, writer and story editor who appeared in Panic in Year Zero! (1962), The Rebel Rousers (1970) and Alex in Wonderland (1970). He also worked as a story editor, writing two episodes of The Monkees in late 1967 and in early 1968. He was married to the actress Ellen Burstyn from 1964 to 1972.
In her autobiography Burstyn recalls that Nephew was schizophrenic, with episodes of violence, and that he eventually left her. Nephew killed himself on November 9, 1978 by jumping from the window of his ninth-floor Manhattan apartment. He was 39.
Jack Lester (Dr. Kranz) was born on May 30, 1898 in London, England and was known for appearances in No Orchids for Miss Blandish (1948), Across the Bridge (1957) and Rose of Tralee (1937). He died in 1985 in Brighton, Sussex, England (age 86).
Vance Meadows (Timmy) was born on June 6, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. He was an actor known for The Tom Ewell Show (1960) and Bachelor Father (1957). He died on May 19, 1996 (age 48).
Directed by Norman Foster (Miss Young’s brother-in-law).
Written by Pauline Stone & Mike Cosgrove.

How many men ,women or even parents today would step into that void role? There are some but I do see the family unit breaking down among many. Great show.
