This is one of my favorite songs of all time I'm glad y'all experienced it
@@menwithven8114 I said one of my favorite songs of all time it's not the favorite
Facts! And same!
Yeah man! These harmonies, the lyrics, this mood for rock music as music for outsiders and nerds.
It's all captured so beautifully. An amazing song.
If people care about Weezer in a hundred years, it will be because of this song (and maybe one or two others).
This song used to annoy me, then I figured out what it was about. My father's been struggling with alcohol addiction for decades. He's 2 years sober now, and has been putting in so much effort to connect with his children, and my son gets to hang out with his grandpa. Hard to hear this without getting choked up. Great reaction guys🤘
Yeah, my understanding is that the song is specifically about the time the lead singer opened the fridge and saw a six-pack or something and realized his stepfather was going to leave because his biological dad started drinking before leaving.
I had the same reaction back then but when i got to learn about the lyrics and the message, man, im left in awe. Brilliant!
I always liked the song, could relate to it but weirdly didn't acknowledge that my dad was an alcoholic until I was older.
Some of their biggest hits
•"Buddy Holly"
•"Island In The Sun"
•"Hash Pipe"
•"Beverly Hills"
•"Undone (The Sweater Song)"
My name is Jonas too..
Weird way to spell Red Album
You forgot “Perfect Situation”
One of my personal favorites is "Pork and Beans"
First time I saw the Buddy Holly video, it took me a second to figure out what was going on. 😂
This entire album is a 90's masterpiece.
Blue album and Pinkerton, the soundtrack to my childhood.
Utter perfection. The greatest power pop album ever made. It rivals the cars.
I love that Rock Band brought so much great music to so many people 😂
Their live performance of this song on Letterman is phenomenal...
At the age of 17, I was lucky enough to see Weezer play at First Avenue in Minneapolis in the summer of 1994 before they truly blew up. They played the Blue Album in its entirety. Minds were blown (including mine).
Yo, you know that the 90's has been voted the best decade of music. There was ska, grunge, punk, alt, hair, female driven bands, hip-hop, a variety of different rap styles, and pop. Pop came with its own specific style and sound that was really recognizable, also, boy bands. There was also a ton of vocal divas amidst vocal royalty of all types but you had rock-country blends. There's seriously so much.
I agree, but 90s music would've never existed without the 80s music styles.
The Blue album is my all time favorite full album, I could listen to it on repeat and did as a teenager many many times lol.
So many times!
Me too! I listened to it every night before I went to sleep. Reminds me of that particular time and place in high school.
What was awesome about listening to the Blue Album before bed was..... if I wasn't asleep before 'Only in Dreams', it was the perfect song to fall asleep to. ❤❤❤
A song with a very similar vibe is by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. It's called Under the Bridge, but there is so much great music that came out of the 90's.
Never really thought about it but yeah that's actually a pretty good comparison
Its more of a grimey reggae ska vibe not a peppers exclusively
Weezer is so underrated. This joint is a classic!
This whole album is perfect. It's like AC/DC, if you like one song you'll love the whole album!
Under rated? My man they're triple platinum artists lol
This is a huge song lol
It’s JAWN not joint.
@@justinatest9456 literally. It’s incredibly hard to make a no skip album, but they did it. Only other no skip album I can think of off top is Ready to Die by Biggie.
This song just sounds so good. Nostalgic af, that into riff
You know when the hoodie goes up, it's a banger.
Good music like this in the 90’s…Bush(Come down, Machinehead) Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine(Killing in the Name of, Wake Up, Bulls on Parade, Soundgarden(Black Hole Sun, Fell on Black Days, Spoonman) Audioslave(same lead singer as Soundgardern Chris Cornell R.I.P., Shadow on the Sun, Cochise, Like a Stone) Chris Cornell was different! Like a Blues/Soul singer that could scream too…like Chester Bennington fro Linkin Park but with a lot of soul. Y’all keep it up💪🏾
Yes do some Soundgarden and Chris Cornell, although one of his solo albums was terrible
I read your comment and was completely shocked not to see Pearl Jam in that list. Eddie Vedder's vocals and his deep lyrics that cut to ur soul are unmatched IMO.
You guys would have totally loved the 90s! The music genre was blowing up! The group No Doubt was a band that did across the board of genres. A MUST on the bucket list to check them out! *hugs* you guys make my heart smile :)
For 90s/00s Rock Definitely do Nirvana, Alice in Chains, audioslave, soundgarden, red hot chili peppers, rise against, three days grace, breaking Benjamin etc
Foo fighters, stone temple pilots
YES! All the above!
I’m a 60 yr old white lady, who adores you boys♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰
Yes, the 90s had so many amazing alternative rock bands and rock songs like this.. It's really hard to know where to start. Maybe with entry,-level mainstream hits like this; Santa Monica by Everclear; the last junkie on Earth by Dandy Warhol's; bullet with butterfly wings by Smashing Pumpkins; give it away by Red Hot Chili Peppers; Lithium by Nirvana
I saw Weezer at Jones Beach (NY) shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. It was when all air traffic was still grounded, and while driving there we saw a single military fighter jet screeching over the horizon. Weezer got up, didn't say a damn word, and just started playing. They knew this New York crowd needed their minds off reality, and that's what they did for us. At the end they just said something like "Thanks for being with us tonight, we love you" and that was pretty much it. It was perfect. No platitudes. No weird speeches. Just a heartfelt performance and love.
One of the coolest alternative bands in the 90's was Björk (name of female vocals). Their breakout song was Human Behavior, very cool song not their best; very early in career.
LOVE Björk!
Björk is the shizzle, I love her It's oh so quiet song👍👍
Bjork is a solo act, but she did previously front the Sugarcubes, an Icelandic band named for the items used in the traditional method of consuming absinthe (the old-school so-poison-it-makes-you-hallucinate kind, usually poured over a sugarcube held over a glass in a special slotted spoon, dissolving the sugar).
She's also basically a religion, in the best way possible.
@@bhanani5480 Love me some Hyperballad.
I don’t know if they’d like Bjork or Sugarcubes though lol
I think we are going to look back in another 20 years or so and realize how impactful rock band and guitar hero was introducing a whole generation of gamers music they would have never been exposed to otherwise. Finally getting all of us to a place where everyone pretty much listens to everything. Its really cool. Also You tube adding financial value to listening to them on screen obviously...
Rock band/ guitar hero / Gta San Andreas/ Gta Vice City introduced me to so much music.
I have been watching you guys discover a lot of bands/songs I like all night, and laughing my ass off. I needed this. Thanks guys! :)
I got one word for y'all "TOOL!" Check out "The Pot" or "Parabola" (the 6 min version). They'll blow your mind. They've got better songs but these are good intros to the band. Then work your way into em. They're one of the GOAT for sho! You've never heard anything like them and you never will. Ya gotta do it. Gotta do it!
Have to start with 'the Pot' if they are going to do Tool. It's a better intro to the band imo
@@Curtin-mf3xy Fair point. For someone who's never heard them The Pot is a bit more accessible. That or Parabola minus Parabol. So the 6:05 minute version of Parabola.
Tool sucks
Weezer's "Blue" album is what I call "Front to Back". Every song is a great one! Another great Alt. band is Cake. Going the distance is one ya'll might know.
I remember watching this on MTV back in the mid 90’s 👌🏽 I grew up loving this song!!
the 90’s was imo one of the best ‘eras’ of music across all genres. you had nwa, pac, biggie, snoop, coming up in rap, you had nu metal bands like deftones, slipknot, and korn, there was grunge coming up with pearl jam, nirvana, alice in chains, and so so many others that created innovative, genre creating, inspiring music that in my opinion is all-time. i would’ve loved to see many artists and bands from that time in their prime
Love how diverse the reactions are on this channel. Kepp up the good work
90,S has some of the best hits! Love your channel guys! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
90s as a decade is goated. Rap, alternative, and a whole lot of newer experimental shit
Back in the day I was in a band with a few of my buddies. Every time we got together to practice, we played Say It Ain't So to warm up. So glad you guys are hip to it now! This video brought back some great memories!
Y’all are always so hype dog! Much love guys, always love gettin down and vibin with yall
If you haven't already done it, do some Weezer off the Pinkerton album. "Tired of Sex" or "So Scorcho" are great.
Also, Pearl Jam ("Even Flow" or "State of Love and Trust" are crazy hard).
Love watching you guys react to music. Always super generous and appreciative of music regardless of the genre. Something to be learned from that approach. Thanks for the videos.
El Scorcho!! 100%
@@linzzyy AY CARAMBA!!!
This whole album is a banger. ❤
Thumbs up to my man rocking the Nightmare on elm street shirt. Werner suggestion Troublemaker
1990s! this album was amazing!
I love to see that people experience music like me 😭❤️ I be feeling it in my bones and soul Fr. I live for music 🎶
Do 'Island in the Sun' , great song and one of the best music videos ever by Spike Jonze. 👍
Hey! I'm just coming across this one. I grew up on this band.
Great choice!!!! Try "Pork and Beans", one of the most creative videos ever! Other great songs include Island in the Sun, Hash Pipe, Perfect Situation, and Beverly Hills. I love these guys!!!!
Awesome that you guys see this as an awesome song. It's one of my all time faves.
Checkout Weezer (Buddy Holly) the video is a flashback to the show (Happy Day's)
Not only one of my fave Weezer song and definitely makes top 10 rock song. My fave video clip too, especially the bit when he's sipping on a juice box. Glad you guys like this song too 👍👍
The guitar riff in this song has a very 50s sound
Y'all are awesome. Keep it up. Here's some recommendations:
"D.R.E.A.M." - The Transplants
Anything off Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche
"Dig Up Her Bones" -The Misfits
Anything by The Hu
"Machi Bhasad" -Bloodywood
"Akatsuki No Ito" -Wagakki Band
You guys are killing it. Keep up that consistency.
"Is that carpet on the ceiling?" In my early 20's we rented a house and built a smaller insulated room within one of the bed rooms for practice and rehearsal and the walls were lined with shag carpet. You could hardly move it was so cramped so it was literally four dudes in a tiny box sweating. But, that's what garage band life is like :D
Hell yeah! This sing rulz!!! Also, damn Tae the waves are spinning. I see you!👏🤘👍👍👍👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You guys really need to do Smashing Pumpkins
This is such a great way of explaining the vibe of the 90’s, I was 18 in 1990, it was a great time to be young ❤ also could you do a reaction to Sepultura? Another underrated band ❤ imo
love u guys and love weezer!
this one got you a new subscriber - love from Canada
Yall should listen to Island in the Sun by Weezer, its my favorite!
It’s so cute you guys checking out my favorite rock music.
I got this CD when it came out. Watching y'all head bang to this is amazing!
Check out "Beverly Hills"...thanks for posting this! I hadn't listened to this song in a long time! Love yall so much! Sending love from Macon GA!
If you like this Weezer song you guys HAVE to react to their two other most popular songs, Buddy Holly and Island in the Sun, tho I wouldn’t be surprised if some of y’all heard both of em before
Songs like this is why I love music! Its what keeps me alive. 💯😎
You boys are awesome!
I love to see individuals playing and open there selves, and open to everything like me. You guys are goated. Play El Scorcho.
This song is brilliant. Reggae, blues, rock. It’s all in there man. Weezer rules.
Love weezer!!! Gotta check out more - Beverly Hills, Hashpipe, sweater song, pork and beans, island in the sun, and more!!
This is my hubbies favorite band of all time!
They are one of a kind
Check out their song “Undone-The Sweater Song”
"Sweater Song" for sure - also "Beverly Hills"
@@vermontmoocow yes! 🙌🏻🤓
Weezer is great & that album in particular was fantastic.
Other great 90s rock bands: Nirvana, Bush, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Sublime, Green Day, Oasis…
The early to mid 90s in particular was stacked with talented legends. You can’t go wrong with any genre from that time period.
Yes! More alternative please! Check out Beck "Loser"... "Devil's Haircut"...
I love this channel bruh
My favourite song tool!!! But I was 18 when this came out and loved it ever since ❤️
I used to listen to this in high school with dates. So nostalgic 👍🏻. This channel is sick
Just vibin to Weezer, lol. Love it

I've loved Weezer since High School when they first came out with The Sweater Song.

An amazing musical experience with a great video.
Peace boys! Keep rocking it out 🙃✌️
Yup this is one of those songs you play a few times because you wanna feel the right kind of anger while you sing it 😂
The Sweater song!!!
Also check out 311.
All mixed up
And the song Down.
This definitely one of my favorite songs ever bro, definitely got it on playing rockband 😂😂🔥
I grew up to these guys and got to see them in the 90s. Check out their album Maladroit. It’s very underrated. In my opinion it’s their crunchiest work.
This song is about the fear of adandonment. Lead singer Rivers' father was an alcoholic who left when River was young. Years later, as a teenager, there's a stepfather in the picture, and when Rivers finds his step dad's beer in the fridge, he thinks he's an alcoholic who's going to leave, too
classic song
The lead vocalist is Rivers Cuomo. He was the singer in the B.o.B song "Magic"
2 of them are "feeling it" (2nd and 1st from right), the others... along for the ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love this song, kool video

Everyone liked the songs Buddy Holly (who was a singer in the 60s/died in a plane crash) and The Sweater Song. These were off their first album. They’re greats songs but their El Scorcho album is GENIUS!
This song you reacted to, Tired of Sex, Good Life, n Dope Nose - favorites of all time.
FYI- they also did a covers record called The Pink album which is awesome!!! N you may want to check out singer Buddy Holly, a bit cheesy now but was considered innovative for its time like Elvis - died in a plane crash with Ritchie Vallens who sang La Bamba
More Weezer please!
This is one of my all-time favorite songs and I don't even like weezer that much, so there ya go. Such a perfect song 🎵 💜
Most bands or musicians have a perfect song of some form. This was definitely one of Weezer's perfect songs imo.
