YES I AM STILL ALIVE I PROMISE i've just been getting married and moving states and jobs and whatever IT'S BEEN STRESSFUL, OKAY??? ?
So Debussy's "Clair de Lune" has been playing in my head for about a month now and I thought it'd work perfectly with Rapture's pre-fall ambiance, so I did that. Maybe now I'll be able to move onto other things. Like viewer requested videos. Like that.
Oh do i wish for a open world Bioshock game. The peace and tranquillity of the distant music echoing down the halls. Hearing the water against the glass. The soft sounds of footsteps sounding in tune with the music. Passing by a stranger and saying a quick "good evening" and continuing on your daily tasks. The occasional couple dancing in Fort Frolic or Arcadia gardens. Families going out for dinner at the new diner. Big daddies keeping everyone safe. Rapture citizens showing everyone that life in Rapture is fantastic. Not having to walk down a hallway tense and on edge. Just enjoying life freely.
i'd kill for an open-world Bioshock game.

That's only for the wealthy in Rapture, sadly. That glowing, golden, structured deco design was always a front for something much more sinister underneath. It would be nice to be a bit more immersed in that side of Rapture for a while though, considering how much we had to suffer the other half.
This is where the fun begins almost serene in the sheer imagination of it all. That shows how creative these people were
The perfect setting would be 1958, the time directly before the civil war starts. This way you could see the beautiful aspect of Rapture and the problems slowly emerging in the background. Basically Burial at Sea just with more role-playing elements, open-world and longer of course.
I loved the little slice of pre-apocalypse Rapture we got to see in part one of 'Burial at Sea.' It left me wanting more.
Fun Fact: Aluminum was used in Rapture's construction instead of steel, which could better handle the ocean's pressures. Not to mention the effects of various sea creatures living on and around the buildings.
If Rapture actually existed, even if there had been no splicers, or societal conflicts, it would still have most likely have collapsed into an uninhabitable ruin well before the 1980's.
Rapture was a beautiful dream that was always going to become a nightmare.
Well, when your "holy trinity" is Art, Science and Industry and your founding motivation is selfishness, it's not that hard to see where you're heading...but the good news is, the handbasket you're traveling in is free...

I love the Debussy playing on the piano in the distance, stunning and the chilled deep water noises make it even better.

I dony know. Something about a beautiful *and leaky lol* underwater city, something about the big saturation divers *big daddies* just walking inside and outside the city, something about the beautiful music, the art, the style, the atmosphere. Its all just...blended so perfectly. God man. It'll take too long for me to become an actual saturation diver *also extremely difficult to get into the field* but if I learn how to scuba dive with an oxygen tank, that'll be fine with me. 😀
Just don't swim down to Rapture. You saw what happened to Johnny Topside...

Ah, 1955. That was a good year in Rapture, when a fella could be happy with a good woman and a shot of single malt, neat. Nobody was pining away to shoot sparks out of their fingers, and your little sister was just that. I miss those days.

This is honestly the best ambience I have listened to, literally just looped it for 5 hours straight doing work and never got tired of it. The water rushing, the echo, it's perfect! Really makes me feel like I am IN Rapture. Wonderful job.

@@LucasHarris Greetings! Wheter they are Pre- Fall or Post- Fall, it doesn't really matters to me. I think that both are beautifull in their way. What the neon signs did for beauty in the Pre- Fall Rapture, the bioluminiscent corals did for the Post- Fall Rapture. Just saying. Thanks for your reply.

hi there! the song playing is actually "Clair de lune" by Claude Debussy, pitched up slightly, on a loop for the entire video. unfortunately, there isn't a spotify playlist for it, but i don't doubt there is an hour version of it floating around on it! hope that helps!
