I'm at that age where I realized my mother will never accept that she is living for her kids not herself! It gave me a lot of grief to see it every day and the day I reflected on her past I encouraged her a lot to do things she enjoys! For example she would rush get groceries then rush home cook them and make sure something is at the dinner table or she would feel mad guilty if she didn't! I told her slowly chore by chore step by step, it's okay to go out with your friend and not have the food ready, it's ok if groceries are bought a day late. It's ok if you have to wait for me to come home and I help you with the laundry, and it's not done like always! Love my mother. I have tears as I write. Sometimes as a child you have to teach your mom to live her best life and be a little selfish, she is much happier and smiles much harder. Yes! This is so true! I've had dudes tell me that they function better in a relationship. I ask why and its something similar to what you said. I say this to my daughters all of the time. We need to stop giving people credit that they don't deserve. We are always taught to place nice and tell people they are doing good when we know they are not. I have never picked up a book and read my daughters the story of Cinderella because for most of us that's not true. No one is coming to rescue us and I have never had that happen to me. Marriage is work and sometimes we are broken and end up with broken people. Then when we become married or get into a relationship and the man isn't tall, dark & handsome or the knight slaying the dragon we lie and say he's doing it just to save face.
I love Loni comment about looking for Prince Charming. The notion that we need someone to protect and save you is so outdated! We should be looking for someone is compatible/ compliments you on your personal and career pursuits?! Be confident in what you are bring to the table and don’t let someone tell you what you are bringing to the table.
Absolutely... We sometimes forget that we were who we were Before the relationship... We were who God has made us individually. We were born by ourselves before anything...
I've suffered from the Cinderella syndrome all of my 20s and I must say that I denounce that fairy tale. Now that I'm 31 I'm realizing no one is coming to save me but Jesus. And no man here on earth is perfect neither am i. Gone are the days where I sit and wait for a man to see my greatness and pop the question.
I learned to put God first no one is first but God only then me and then other people when We put God first and his love really no one else matters. i learned the hard way but still growing and learning to make better decisions now. I put God first and stop putting my feels to the side trying to please others no more. God is always first. No one comes before God. God bless everyone. 👏👏☺
I don’t know who needs to hear this but real love thrives on submission, it’s a song AND dance. You know you’re in the wrong place with the wrong person whenever one of y’all is dancing but there’s no singing or there’s one who’s constantly singing while the other refuses to dance. Everything in between is practice! The everything in between shapes us like puzzle pieces until we fit exactly where we should. Don’t be afraid to figure it all out as you go
Women are protectors. Period. Mothers protect their Sons, Wives protect their Husbands, Sisters protect their Brothers. It's a very natural thing. So, when in a relationship you find yourself doing that to a fault, search for the reason behind it. Low self-esteem, improper role models, familial tradition, and these things can be on both involved. I just understand that Men are providers and Women are protectors. And nothing is wrong with that, as long as it's healthy.
@@CodyCole80 You're absolutely right. And continue thinking that, but here's the thing. There are different definitions of "protection". When a kid falls and scrapes their knee, they scream out for Mommy. They know that Mom is gonna come running, threaten to kick the sidewalks butt, and kiss the boo-boo. When a kid is in a situation where they need someone to initiate aggression, show complete domination and get something under control quickly they look for "Daddy" or a father figure type they know will get the job done. That's why Mother's cry at weddings and Father's gives their daughters away. To someone "Daddy" believes will fill his shoes.
I think its all about perspective. The fairytale example, 'find your Prince, he'll rescue you'...you actually have to find them...they actually have to rescue you...In Jeannie's case her new man showed a small example of his royalty & 'recused' her by taking her to the airport to be there when she left town, regardless of what was going on for his birthday and proved he had a better standard of care vs her ex. Men, women, whoever, WHEN THEY SHOW & TELL YOU WHO THEY ARE BELIEVE THEM!!! Its not the fairytales problem that too many rush in too quickly. Sometimes especially in hindsight it's pretty obvious you don't have a Prince. YOU KNOW. But you have a million reasons why you settle. One very common reason being you don't want to be alone and are afraid to wait for your real Prince or Princess. In fairytales both sides of the couple usually are doing some pretty fantastic and difficult things for each other. Why don't we listen to that part of the story? Yeah they usually tell the story in 90 minutes and it's a cartoon, but they are still fighting dragons, giant cobras, facing the wrath of a discriminating mob or their disapproving/jealous families. They made each other a priority. Obviously fairytales are not meant to be taken literally, however there is a lot of good examples where the Prince and Princess proved their worth. Remember those partd of the story everybody. I don't see how people watch them, turn to look at their definitely not a Prince guy they are dating and say, 'Yep that's totally what Prince Charming would do, NOT look for me or call the next day if I suddenly left a party. Yep Aladdin would totally let me uber to the airport vs ride with me on Carpet'. If you blame fairytales as the reason for your bad relationship choices I think you just weren't paying attention.
🗣🗣🗣I don't understand why it's called Cinderella syndrome. It should be called Princess Syndrome. Cinderella was a character that basically was downtrodden and took care of a bunch of people that had the real personality disorders; like narcissism and borderline. It needs another name that fits better.
She put her needs after everyone else's and spent her time waitng for someone else to save her from the life she imprisoned herself in. There's literally a song called "someday my prince will come" from the Disney version (I think). Her fairy godmother gave her a start, but told her that she was ultimately responsible for her own happiness. The Brandy version (which is the only one I acknowledge) puts the message of self rescue more up front, and it isn't until she makes the decision for herself to live the life she wants and leaves that her prince comes and they live a happy life together. I get what you mean about princess syndrome because most of the old princess movies have the prince rescue nonsense, but that's changing now as people understand the impact of those harmful messages.
The Reals show have changed me so much over the years... some topics are just too related... But all the same enough is enough.... I have to live my dreams ...Time wait for nobody
We as women need to learn TO LET THE MAN BE A MAN. we as women take on the entire relationship becoming the man as well as the woman, doing to much or doing it all.
Come ON ADRIENNE for the Cinderella reference because that song is STILL AND WILL ALWAYS BE A BOP. CHEETAH GIRLS WAS BEFORE ITS TIME. So much female unity and empowerment in all those songs !!
Fun fact: The original singers of the song "Cinderella" is a Swedish group called Play. The song was released in Europe in Dec 2001 and in the US in June, 2002. The movie Cheetah Girls was filmed in October - Dec 2002. And honestly, I love Play's version as much as I love the Cheetah Girl's version. ruclips.net/video/LdKcWgXfIK8/видео.html

Then when we become married or get into a relationship and the man isn't tall, dark & handsome or the knight slaying the dragon we lie and say he's doing it just to save face.
I Try to tell women this all the time don't lose yourself in a man but no one seems to listen
I had to learn the hard way; but if I am not good to myself and work to have a great relationship with myself, I am no good for a man or anyone.
I'm glad you see it, I think because I'm a man they don't believe me
@@godsonkose2419 Keep telling people the truth, but they will learn the true lesson only when it's their time to learn.
There is so much literature on this topic. Idk if there's an updated version, but "Marriage Shock" by Dalma Heyn is a good place to start
This is such a touchy subject I can see Jeannie so uncomfortable
i started breaking out to the song cinderella after adrienne made that reference 😂
Look like Tamera got a reality check
lmao.
why
i was about to say...
How? I don't understand
how?
Yes, I was singing Cinderella before Adrienne even brought it up
Women just actually run a household that's why that happens
The Mowery sister looks really beautiful on this video. Appreciate Tisha's honesty.
I can slay my own dragon. I can dream my own dreams
MY KNIGHT AND SHINING ARMOUR..... IS MEEEEEE💕
I’m gonna set me FrEeEe 🗣🎵
@@chaimaali7385 I aint gonna be no Cinderella !!!
My jammm💕
Sitting in a dark and dusty cellar, waiting for somebody to come and set me free!
I love talks like these!
Tisha... takes my breath away and I love that hair style. It’s mean and confident. Our women.... wow so powerful and humbling. ✊🏾❤️
Love MJB..
There's only ONE SAVIOR Jesus Christ!
Cheetah Girls' Cinderella jam was ahead of its time! What an anthem and very appropriate for this topic
How about, were taught to “ride or die “ - codependent and risky behavior as proof of your worth and ability to love.
Mirlande Jourdan-Pierrot Dang that’s soo true! I’m not riding or dying for anyone!!
Tisha's leg was moving under that table she FELT that! bwhhahaha
💡The answer to the question is simple: MOST women are more LOYAL than most men in every sense of the word.
Dammmmmmm
Black woman have been loyal since being raped on the plantation while their men watched
Sharon Tate Deep!!
Very true
I love Loni comment about looking for Prince Charming. The notion that we need someone to protect and save you is so outdated! We should be looking for someone is compatible/ compliments you on your personal and career pursuits?! Be confident in what you are bring to the table and don’t let someone tell you what you are bringing to the table.
Tisha sounds so hurt.
She may be in the process of healing from her divorce. From hurting, to healing, to helping.
Cinderella- By The Cheetah Girls is a straight Bop!! 🔥
Ain’t no savior coming Ladies...except for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Absolutely... We sometimes forget that we were who we were Before the relationship... We were who God has made us individually. We were born by ourselves before anything...
Yes.
That Cinderella song is my jam and im a guy lol.
I can relate; I also learned that lesson thru the painful route. BUT...I did learn😅(happy tear)
#nomoredrama
Sometimes it's best to be single because you do so much better by yourself
Don’t be afraid to figure it all out as you go
As a black man.. I love women and the sacrifices y'all make even if we don't iknowledge it
Loni Love I don't agree with a lot of things that you say you spoke volume right here this is absolutely true‼️🎯💯💖👏👏👏
LONI STOP CUTTING OFF TAMERA!!!! SICK OF HEARING YOU TALK
Lol
Loving these comments. Way more
thought- provoking than the actual clip.
I thought men were supposed to be providers AND protectors.
We want longer videos!!!
Tamera looks stunning here 😍😍
Great conversation!!
Adrianne read my mind with the Cheetah Girls Cinderella , soon as she said rescue u , I knew it , then she said it ... thats the jam
"the women overcompensating"... ding ding ding tamera, did a light bulb go off 🤦🏾♀️
Tisha and Loni is speaking the TRUTH. Where can I purchase the magazine?
Only Jesus is your saviour!! And your spouse should be your partner!!
I love that Cinderella song from the cheetah girls!! Gaha
I feel like no one at the table got the cheetah girls reference haha
*I WAS JUST SINGING CHEETAH GIRLS CINDERELLA TONIGHT WTF*
That’s why it’s important that when you get married u need to know your role as a husband and as a wife and play your role with love in it
I think its all about perspective.
Soo relatable, I am writing about it the Cinderella syndrome in my book.
Loni that hair is fire on you Hunnntty!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Go Mary! Did a reading of her on this channel. This was in between her divorce.
The Reals show have changed me so much over the years... some topics are just too related... But all the same enough is enough.... I have to live my dreams ...Time wait for nobody
I felt this talk
Loni bringing up fairy tales just
now i got the song Cinderella stuck in my head (cheetah girls) :(
LONI I LOVE THAT SHIRT! It actually reminds me of the cheetah girls
Tisha needs to join the show!!!!!
