I saw the title and was concerned. I've tried covering Nirvana on countless occasions, and there's something magical about their songs that I have never been able to capture, and I've seen other musicians much more talented than me suffer the same issue. The concern was completely unwarranted. This cover brought the magic.
I've seen Seether play like a 45 minute set of nothing but Nirvana songs.... It was absolutely amazing.

This song was a HUGE influence in my teens. This cover is EXACTLY what it needed. Easily one of your best work. Easily.
This. There is a short clip in one of the Nirvana live VHS tapes from back in the day of them playing this song SUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPER heavy for like 10 seconds and I was obsessed with that short clip and how the song sounded. THis is super close to how they sounded there
Fun bit of trivia, in the original 1991 recording there is a cello that sounds a little bit off. The cello is not off, the rest of the instruments in the band were tunned to Kurt's guitar.... which was perpetually out of tune. Despite multiple "better" recordings of the song including the 1993 Unplugged recording existing the out-of-tune 1991 version generally gets used. It was also the version used in the 2020 batman trailer that put the song in its best-ever billboard rankings including a top 2 in the US for the first time.....29 years after it was recorded.

- Also not only was Kurt's guitar out of tune for that recording, but the tempo was also so off that Dave Grohl apparently had a really hard time applying the drum track. On the distant chance someone still reading this doesn't know who Dave Grohl is....google it for a treat.

@@michael5460 My babysitter played the MTV special for me back in 1993 when I was six. I can't say why but I remember that night so clearly and that track in particular really stood out for me.

He always keeps you on you toes as you never quite know what he'll do next or how he'll do it. Like this cover, he kept the beautiful and haunting overtone of the original with a bit more intensity without going full on screamo which is what I expecting when I clicked on the video. He's fantastic

This song is about something getting in the way of whatever one's goals are. Cobain's obstacles are different from what hinders Bruce, but the song works in the world Reeves is building because Bruce himself stands in the way of the symbol he wants Batman to be.

So damn good! Brings out the true anger that was seething inside of him. The breakdown was great and then the sudden silence is how it usually goes with those emotions. A mental explosion and then nothing but noise in the background
