This song + Bruce driving on his motorcycle in the night = absolute chills
Absolutely. Loved the camera behind the helmet too and the orange tint. Such a perfect song for that scene.
I used to play this song really late at night when driving home from work, idk what it is about this song but it's great
Man.
BEST SCENE EVER
Plus the first look of his cave and he entering that.
i loved how the crowd is just quiet and respectful thru the show
Exactly. Pre-cell phones. Before the mysteries of the world were reveled via a screen in your hand. Smart phones = dumb people.

You DEFINITELY have to appreciate Dave’s style of “quiet drumming” during this whole unplugged set.
He was definitely struggling to hold back haha
Apparently Kurt kept telling him to be quieter during rehearsal
Omg. Somebody's feeling important! Lmfao
He's using a special type of drumsticks designed to be much quieter.
It's a brush technique. The drummer is there for tempo in the design of a "final product" . If you were to just "jam out" , it wouldn't create the right affect/intimacy with whoever is observing it; in an attempt to put it simply. Peace

I bought this album when I was 13. Back in 94. My dad was impressed with the album but wasn’t a fan of Nirvana. This album alone defined a genre for generations. Absolutely incredible performance by the band.

He did and he hated it so he acted like he wasnt
@@eggbock9704 which made him even bigger
He had a depression. Which is difficult enough without being on the forefront. So ofc he hated all the attention, he couldnt cope with it.
@@Thomas-cr2pt Pretty much this. I think he expected attention, just not that much, and as someone who also has depression, you don't always want that attention. There's attention and expectations and sometimes they both such big time. I'm really sad he couldn't get the professional help he needed.
The greatest artist all have something in common: the dark side controlling them. Depression, abuse, addiction and so on...they just performed to survive
I love the cello in this song. It's such a small part of the piece, but it adds so much to it. Beautiful and haunting.
... definitely adds the authentic cry to the bit. I wonder what they used in the original recording.

And I can't imagine from a religious pov, he also s not resting in peace.
We tell ourselves that in hopes of finding some sort of comfort but it's not always the reality. I'd wish he, as I do hope my idols such as Tupac is also resting in peace, but who knows, truth be told we'll never know the answer till we die.

The cello with Kurt's voice is so damn beautiful. This has always been one of my favorite songs... glad that Batman movie gave a new generation an appreciation of Nirvana.

Watching Nirvava Unplugged for the first time since Kurt Cobain’s death. It’s still hauntingly beautiful and heavy with emotion. Life is precious, please don’t give up on people you know who are struggling with their mental health. One of the best songs of all time! Truly magnificent. ❤
For a long time it was believed that the lyrics of the song spoke about the life of the singer who, as a teenager, lived on the streets of Aberdeen in Washington after being kicked out of his home, and who survived by sleeping and fishing under the street bridge. Young.
However, it was not until 2001 that Cobain's biography, Heavier than Heaven by writer Charles Cross, confirmed that during the four months that Cobain lived on the streets, he slept in various places such as cardboard boxes, hallways of buildings abandoned, waiting rooms in town hospitals, etc. And that he wrote the lyrics imagining what it would feel like to be a person who lives under the bridge and is slowly dying of an illness, since that was a kind of fantasy that the singer had.
Likewise, after reading about Kurt's journey, it is heartbreaking that no one reached out to him during that time. And that's why Jerry Cantrell was forever grateful when Layne Staley offered him to come and live with him when he heard that Jerry was homeless when he just met Jerry!
@@amyamestoy3469if someone had reached out to him, maybe we wouldn't have something he had given to us which stays for forever.

@@psvitaoled197 who cares. he is gone and has been for years. no need to shite on him smh
@@psvitaoled197 hes actually moving his jaw to keep time. he was on valium during this performance.
Was there it didn’t feel special it was a good show but nothing groundbreaking younger generations tend to romanticize things.
This is my favorite live show of all time.
Me to
Agreed I’ve watched it so many times over this last month I’ve become nirvana obsessed
me too
Alice In Chains then nirvana unplugged iMO
@@blizzard_of_Za Watching Nutshell, gives like the ultimate goosebumps.
I feel saddened that so many people never got to see them in person. Seeing them live has been one of my biggest joys in life . Rock on mr Cobain 😢
When and where’d you see them?
@@Retroactive93 I saw them in 1992 in Melbourne
@@naomihaworth8187 that is so awesome. How lucky are you!?
@@Retroactive93 was pretty fantastic
@@naomihaworth8187 I can only imagine! ! I was being conceived in 1992 😅
As a former cellist I LOVE something in the way!! Just a beautiful cellist!!
One man can save millions, But millions couldn't save one. R.I.P Kurt Cobain
So true...
The millions of people you're talking about paid his salary so he could be a millionaire and support his family that he cowardly left. He had the resources to get help he just chose crack and heroine instead. he left nothing but a subculture that's dying and hurt family.
@@networkninja2971 wow bro
@@networkninja2971 you okay?
@@networkninja2971 that's the point, they gave him money and cheered their music without caring the message he was trying to give. He ended up becoming something that he hated
I scream "Nirvana!" when this song started playing on the batman teaser..
Omg sameeee my dude
Lol same I watched the whole thing for the song
Me xd
@@nour4828 watch the whole concert bruv
same, then i got goosebumps, then i went back and listened to every Nirvana album.
Priceless moments that can never be recreated. Much love.
I was 20 in 93' this song left a mark first time i heard it then..
3:55 - A Kurt Cobain smile after such a dark song is absolutely heart-warming.
his smile is beautiful
The greatest unplugged performance ever. Rest easy Kurt.
@Ezra Kyleigh I get the lyrics, but wtf is that above it and more to the point, wtf does it have to do with this video?
YES!
Alice In Chains unplugged is the best unplugged ever!!
@@jdixon920 thank you. I love Nirvana but nothing comes close to AIC’s unplugged.
This is a great performance, one of the best! But one things make this performance become an iconic are, this is Kurt last gig..he died few days after.
It's just his farewell ,and in the end are kurt and his band legacy.
....i was 14 when He died and it changed my life forever. ❤
I watched this live on TV when I was 15. But it took me 10yrs to realize I was watching a masterpiece.
"The hell are you supposed to be?"
[insane beatdown ensues]
"... I'm Vengeance."
AMAZING!
You know it!
after the trailer batman, also look for a track?
Wow thats how a Batman beat down should look! 🤕
hi vengeance, im dad.
A tortured but amazing artist. I lived the grunge days 🤘🏼
I remember seeing this when it first aired, still brings tears to my eyes, even more so now that his pain eventually killed him.
Love this whole unplugged. My dad is a strict 70s classic rock music lover and pretty much doesn’t like much else but we watch this together all the time. Miss you Kurt. Me and my 63 yr old dad love to watch your amazing legacy.
Hunter Vonnegut STFU no one asked
I'm a 73 year old dad and a 60s rock & roller and I watch this with my 42 year old rocker daughter who also plays Nirvana songs on her Electric guitar.
@Hunter Vonnegut no
Love that's what music is for. 😀💜🖤💜✔️
My older brother 12 years was a straight Pink Floyd zeppelin Gnr Metallica guy and swore the early 90s was trash until this came on. All of a sudden he was straight nirvana lol
Made me so happy to share this song with my children while watching the new Batman. Since I was a teen when this first came out, I've always loved it.. It always spoke to me. That whole 90's dark grunge music spoke to me as a teen and even through dark times through each decade of my life. My kids are too young to understand the lyrics and their meanings but appreciated the vibe and "sang" to this while it played.
Same, I was 19 at the time. Just showed my kids this video after watching the Batman movie..."see kids, mom is cool".
My Dad listened to this song so much when I was growing up, he passed away but I get a lot of memories and feel like we have a special moment when I hear some of the songs he played. They will remember it for a long time!
@49bars don't take anything to seriously these days, and don't think too hard about things that will be important later on in life there is a time and a place for everything but make the more mature decisions if you're capable of it, An if you take advantage of the fact you can already see and accept that the world's a lot darker of a place than what it's painted out to be maybe it won't hit you all at once and leave you with all these questions if you just prepare yourself for the truth. And I don't really know how to help you specifically cause I don't know what you're going through exactly but everyone has problems if someone said they don't there lying or just too naive or young to see it. Just take things one step at a time you'll be fine bro 👍
Look at us now in our 40's wish time didn't go that fast! I miss the 90's sad as this sounds i never enjoyed life beyond the mid 90's> Still stuck in the past life was beautiful. I would give anything in the world to relive my childhood from 80's 90's onwards.
Oh yea they did play this in new Batman nice
