I’m 37 now I used to listen to this on my brothers stereo when he wasn’t home I’m not sure what was so captivating about his music but into this day I still listen and feel a deep emotional connection to this very inspirational and troubled man
Riiight, what a time to be in the living during this era, I don’t think he knew how inspirational he was, dynamic personality. FYI he didn’t kill himself..let that sink in!!
Made me so happy to share this song with my children while watching the new Batman. Since I was a teen when this first came out, I've always loved it.. It always spoke to me. That whole 90's dark grunge music spoke to me as a teen and even through dark times through each decade of my life. My kids are too young to understand the lyrics and their meanings but appreciated the vibe and "sang" to this while it played.
My Dad listened to this song so much when I was growing up, he passed away but I get a lot of memories and feel like we have a special moment when I hear some of the songs he played. They will remember it for a long time!
@49bars don't take anything to seriously these days, and don't think too hard about things that will be important later on in life there is a time and a place for everything but make the more mature decisions if you're capable of it, An if you take advantage of the fact you can already see and accept that the world's a lot darker of a place than what it's painted out to be maybe it won't hit you all at once and leave you with all these questions if you just prepare yourself for the truth. And I don't really know how to help you specifically cause I don't know what you're going through exactly but everyone has problems if someone said they don't there lying or just too naive or young to see it. Just take things one step at a time you'll be fine bro 👍

Kurt was a genious .... only two chords, E- and C, and you have this strong, magnetic and dark music .... he was one of a kind musician ! 👏👏👏 Love Nirvana !
Was it really genius ? It's actually very simple and a common arrangement who's formula has been used over ,and over , and over,,,, well before Kurt used it. Just being honest. If anything it shows what a fan of music he was to continue to use tried and true arrangements on a lot of his songs , and that I can respect.
True Genius! He was a master of subtilty and he seemed to have very little ego! the 90's was the freest decade. No phones taking video's, or people posting on social media. I ended up going into the Air Force and he moved off. All of my friends would bust on me bc even into my 30's, I HAD to have my Etnies & DC's, to match my scubs. When my daughter was little, she wore them too. Only 5 year old I ever saw wearing a pair of DCs. 🤣 Nothing will ever beat an old school Nintendo, and MTV...when they actually played music.
What I was originally going to say was "I was -1", but since this is a batman video... “Ah you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man"
The amount of times I've cried to this song I don't even want to know. Kurt's voice is the only thing that calms down my anxiety, even if it's just for a moment. Whenever I feel down I put this song on and I immediately feel less alone. Kurt, wherever you are now: you are deeply missed.

My older brother 12 years was a straight Pink Floyd zeppelin Gnr Metallica guy and swore the early 90s was trash until this came on. All of a sudden he was straight nirvana lol
This song carries an inexplicable melancholy.
This is my favorite Nirvana song. It has a strangely calming effect on me. Dark and poetic.
i really think this was kurts “baby” his masterpiece song, his most emotional...most saddest. About his life, his struggle, his loneliness, depression and i think he wanted this one to connect with everyone else who share it or those who can relate. Icon, rip Kurt. This is my favorite nirvana song.
Apparently his favourite was Drain You
I like the simplicity of this song as well and the feeling of somethings in the way and you dont know what it is. Something that prevents you to be happy.

Things like this happen before people die sometimes. This happened in november and he died in april 1994
I love how casual it is. I love the gaps and the chats between songs and the respectful audience applause. Nirvana are amazing.
Yeeaah,it feels like I am with my friends and some are singing, playing, some listening, and then we think of another song. They really gave that friendly feeling
So dark, so deep, almost haunting. Yet so beautiful at the same time. So unappreciated
the band that made me pick up my guitar, and i couldn’t be any happier.
Or at least you think you’re happy
4 me the same, the first song i learn to play in my first acoustic guitar was from nirvana and blow my mind when i hear the sound what kurt create.
I think every tune I could play on guitar was nirvana, I'm not a guitar player but I always tried when I was a kid, my dad's guitar was always in the house, but it means alot that the only songs I could play were nirvana. The main one was come as you are, I spent so much time getting that right, then there was in bloom (with power chords), and also lets not forget the famous smells like teen spirit.

I remember seeing them premiere for the first time on MTV… I was instantly a fan. They haven’t stopped speaking to my soul.
Same, I was 19 at the time. Just showed my kids this video after watching the Batman movie..."see kids, mom is cool".
Look at us now in our 40's wish time didn't go that fast! I miss the 90's sad as this sounds i never enjoyed life beyond the mid 90's> Still stuck in the past life was beautiful. I would give anything in the world to relive my childhood from 80's 90's onwards.

Despite me not being a giant Nirvana fan, this is probably one of the greatest live shows ever performed. Talk about every single song being an absolute banger with no slip up.
During the Guitar Break during The Man Who Sold The World Kurt did mess up
What you're watching is edited, it's not that no one slips up/ butchers multiple songs. They have an opportunity to get it right/perfect for the recording. This wasn't streaming live or anything back then.

Wow, good old days right! I'm from a different generation but man this sounds so cool 🔥🔥🔥
You totally just described my life. My neighbor had a half pipe in his back yard, I spent all my time at his house. We would listen to Nirvana, while waxing our skateboards. It was so chill.
