- This might be a huge mistake! John Deere is moving some of its loader production from Dubuque, Iowa, to a new facility in Ramos, Mexico, by 2026, leading to layoffs as part of a broader strategy to reduce costs and improve efficiency

The current market/economy is unnecessarily tougher for boomers/senior citizens, I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.
Just buy and invest in Gold or other reliable stock , the government has failed us and we cant keep living like this.
Yes, gold is a great investment and a good bet against the devaluating dollar, been holding some for awhile now, I’m grateful my adviser’s moment by moment changes in the market are lightening quick, cos who know how much losses I would’ve had by now.
I envy you, I’m still trying to recover from losses I incurred in 2021/2022, who is this investment adviser you work with, I’m intrigued and I could use some quality guidance
My CFA ‘’Aileen Gertrude Tippy” , a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
Thanks a lot for this suggestion. I needed this myself, I looked her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
This is not a blue state issue. They would have moved to a red state if that was the issue. This is corporate greed plain and simple.
This is a pure greed issue. In the end, the company will pinch pennies and lose dollars. Customers will start to leave.
Probably because they’re slowly being ran out of business. They move to produce at lower cost before being in financial trouble. Businesses mostly move because of necessity, not greed. Don’t forget that if competitors have lower costs, it is a matter of time before your business dies.

Exactly. Greed.
These companies love you to buy their products but can’t afford to hire you. If you don’t have a job good luck buying their products.
They're hurting financially because they banned farmers from repairing their own equipment. Imagine that.
The right to repair!
I’d gladly pay too dollar for good equipment made in America by a new American company. Just waiting on who’s going to take my money.
@@Ap_twsh Its difficult to say so. Nowadays to start a heavy equipment company you're going to need close to $50 Million minimum for equipment, commercial real estate, employees, etc, etc.Not to mention the time for a product to be developed too
Exactly. I wouldn't buy anything by J.D.
Wtf you talking about we fix our own shit the problem is the pricing for parts and equipment....please tell me a farmer who doesn't fix their own shit???? We cancel all bullshit they put on things
I’m a farmer in Maryland. John Deere has gone woke. Their parts went up 1000% practically overnight. They’re driving us farmers out of business just as fast as the government is by Trilling fuel tripling Fertilizer. It’s so sad to see. I’m trying to get a situation myself where I can sell all of my John Deere equipmentbecause it’s just too expensive to fix
Increasing prices is not woke that’s capitalism 😂😂😂
Agree. My family farms and ALL expenses are out of control - equipment, equipment maintenance, fertilizer, fuel, seed, TAXES.
It used to be that you could run used equipment and keep repairing it yourself. No longer - parts are non-existent. A simple example is not being able to get a replacement tire for a 30 year-old tractor. The tractor still runs well - but idled by a seemingly simple part. Manufacturers are forcing people to buy astronomically expensive new equipment - AND their sky-high parts.
AND THIS isn't even enough - evidenced by JD's move to Mexico.
But But Pat and the Biz bros just want to blame the libs. Shut up with this greed thing, it's the lies. No mention of how awful they became.

Don't tell that to the Biz Bros, they'll call you a DEI Lib Commie
Iowa has a republican governor and has voted for Trump overwhelmingly in 2016 and 2020 and will vote for him again in 2024. Iowa is not a blue state

In 2020 Dubuque county voted for Trump and black Hawk county, which Waterloo is located in voted for Biden by 7 points. As a whole Iowa has been a red state. My comment was to correct him in stating that two blue states were the result when one of the states has a republican governor and has voted Red overwhelmingly in the last two election cycles. This isn’t political it’s just corporate greed by John Deere.

I find the title of this video a tiny bit misleading. Iowa isn't really a "blue state" at present. The best argument you could make is that Iowa is a swing state, but it's been reliably Republican since 2016 and has Republican majorities in both its House and Senate.
Side note: Why couldn't John Deere just relocate to a red state like Texas, Florida, or some other place instead of Mexico?

Why didn’t they just move to a “red” state instead of Mexico? It’s a classic ‘greed is good’ again.
It's not greed. People here in the U.S. have become lazy because they feel entitled... That's why everybody prefers hiring immigrants and the same reason companies are relocating to other countries. That plus the artificially inflated value of the dollar make it impossible for manufacturing companies to compete with foreign companies as long as they stay in the U.S.

After listening to segments like this I realize how uninformed these guys are on so many topics. I’m a supporter but so many times it’s just ranting without living in reality. John deer is able to move to Mexico because of the deal that Trump signed with Mexico and now you think he’s gonna put tariffs on them? This is a geopolictal tactic that both left and right have agreed to adopt which is essentially to use Mexico as an extension to our manufacturing industry. I get you Kay not like it but that is the reality and without acknowledging that it sounds like I’m listening to CNN

Umm Trump stopped companies moving to Mexico and other countries and got a lot on companies to move a trillion of money and investment back to US and jobs to stay in U.S.
Kubota needs to open a small factory in the US like right now to capitalize on this once the backlash hits.
They have. It's in Salina, KS. Partnered with Great Plains. Who makes there attachments and accessories for Kubota tractors in Abilene KS.
John Deere is like Harley Davidson. They charge far too much for a product that has no advantage over the competition. It is the stupidity of the American consumer who buys these products thinking there is some thing special about them.
😂😂😂 John Deere flying to keep profit margins up. That’s the only reason that companies had record profits for years.
John Deere has operations in 30 counties around the world. They have 4 in Mexico already and are only moving a portion of their Illinois and Iowa operations to one of the locations in Mexico. My family has owned John Deer tractors for over 50 years but not anymore! John Deer’s quality and customer service has deteriorated severely over the last decade. You can no longer repair them yourselves specifically the newer ones and finding parts for the older ones is becoming harder by the day. When my father wanted a new tractor he went to the local John Deer dealership and received such bad customer service, he told them that they just lost a cash buyer. He ended up buying a Kubota that week with four extra accessories (2 bush hogs, fork, and a front bucket). Head said the customer service was the best he had ever had. Not only did they deliver the equipment on my father’s schedule they stayed there for two extra hours to make sure that he knew how to use and maintain it. After doing some research, I found out that John Deer has lost a significant amount of market share to the Asian tractor companies.

Bro, we are falling apart as a country.
SO SAD TO SEE. "A DIRECT result of bad economic policy."
I worked for another famous heavy equipment manufacturer who moved out of Illinois several years ago due to increased STATE costs (taxes). Was not an easy choice at all. The start up was expensive and difficult due to lack of skilled labor. Even if economic policy improves substantially, it will be very difficult to get those jobs back - even the "small" amount in JD's case. Still a large number of people in extended families are affected for a long period - there are so few manuf. jobs left that these people have to go to GREAT lengths to get new jobs.
No more government hand outs to corporations that have moved/offshored jobs in the last 10 years. And no more local/state tax credits for corporations with a market cap of 10 billion dollars.
Ah another communist ...
He’s not a farmer so we need to forgive him for not understanding. Corporate greed is JD problem. My neighbour just traded in 10million worth of JD and case equipment for European equipment. Fendt is 100k less per tractor with better repair, and I think they have a better product. If I have to fix a JD be prepared for a 40k bill.
America's #1 export product: companies.
Ford, GM, stellantis, John Deere,
If JD spent less on pushing racism dei and more on customer support maybe they wouldn't be in this death spiral. I scratched the 1025r
Another important point, the John Deere union got an absolute FAT contract two years ago. Once that was agreed upon, it was only a matter of time before they started looking for cheaper labor.
As they should have… because Deeres ceo made $20 million in 2022 and they gave him a $6 million dollar raise in 2023. Plus he has over $50 million dollars worth of stock options. Labor allowed him to pocket all that money so labor should get to reap in all the benefits also.

There is a pattern that people don't catch apparently. Elon Musk was right about unions. As soon as all the workers unionized and companies got forced to accept the new conditions, it only lasted 2-3 years (takes time to replan to move something that size). Why do business in America when you have to pay employees $18+ an hour with full benefits when you can shift to Mexico and pay >$5 an hour and receive the same product.
People call it greed but manufacturing in America is awful, 75%+ of the U.S economy is Chinese to begin with.
John Deere in Iowa are UNIONIZED. John Deere is a for profit company. When a union worker bids a job at a rate less than optimal, it is the downfall of production.
I am speaking from a manufacturing side and know full well of an impact of unions. When the union dictates the market, it is wrong. The market should dictate the performance of the company.
it's not a politics issue its simply corporate greed.
If you give all these companies financial incentives then thats TAX PAYER money making the owners more money and 99% of big corporations avoid tax anyway.
Iowa Is Red Their IS MORE TO THIS!!! JOHN DEERE STARTED HERE, LOWER INFLATIONS, LOWER COST OF EVERYTHING, LOWER MIN. WAGES!! SERIOUSLY GIVE INCENTIVES FOR THEM TO STAY, WITHOUT FLIPPING STRINGS. WE NEED OUR SMALL FARMERS BACK, STOP THE BIG FOUR, THAT TOOK OVER,LOW BALLED THE LITTLE GUYS OUT!!!
Expat American forty two years in Qroo Mexico, wait until reality hits John Deer we just spent 5.5 days in our town with out electricity last week I’m on gen set now . The paperwork they will be required to do will take a tractor to carry it from one office to another !
The logo of a deer wearing a sombrero is going to look silly.

The highly anticipated new John Deere model will be made in Mexico.........Juan Deere 😂😅😂
If they Can't Make it in Iowa or Illinois. They Can't make it in Mexico.😢😮😅. Good Bye Deere.
Bidenomics! Remember when Trump told the big 3, "If you're going to sell it here, you should be building it here?"
Didn’t they try to sue farmers because they wanted to make repairs on the product they paid for…
Let's not forget that a little more than 2 years ago these workers were on strike fighting for better wages among other things. John Deere in this area has a cyclical build season. Every fall they would lay off workers, and every year that came with a model change would have more than other years. They would usually hire most back at the beginning of the season. For them to come out and say they are moving lines to Mexico is nothing more than corporate greed for shareholders. I will say that JD is trying to offer extended benefits for impacted individuals effected. The whole thing still leaves a sour taste in the mouths of the locals here.
I guess the price of plastic has increased. They need to lay off the engineers who designed the poor quality machinery.
Make Mexico Great Again !
