    I've had my pill shaver for years. Works very well. Washing towels separately from clothes keeps a lot of pilling from happening. I haven't had to use my pill shaver since I started washing towels separately. Same with denim. Wash it separately.

    Zeke Amell just did a complete video on this. You are exactly right. One of the best things you can ever buy to make something from looking old to brand new!!

    Must get one. But I have been using a cheap & cheerful bic razor that works well. Unfortunately much of the man-made fibre in the last 5 years is being used and in expensive clothing too and it pills like crazy. Another reason NOT to buy more than you need and to make whatever you can. Learning to sew is a very worthwhile skill.

    I have been using one for years. I picked up my last one at a yard sale that the original owner had put brand new batteries in and used once. The best part--I only paid 50 cents for it! I literally felt like I had struck gold!

    if you dont have one you can also use a razor or a pumice stone

    You are right about the lint shavers, they are so essential for keeping clothes looking great! My mother has one and my grandmother used one. I definitely need to get one, too!! Thanks for the reminder! You always have such great tips!

    This tip came at the perfect time! I just spent an inordinate amount of time de-pilling (is that a word?) a sweater. This would have saved SO much time. Definitely worth it! Thanks!

    In the UK, the most widely available pill-remover is the 'Bobble Off' by JML which is around £5.99. Some comments refer to pilling as a sign of 'cheap' or inferior fabric. Did you know that luxury Cashmere also pills terribly?! They sell special Pilling or Cashmere combs to treat the fabric! These are cheaper than something like the Bobble Off and also work on knitwear, etc.

    I recently bought one of these (mine is a Remington purchased on Amazon for less than $10) and it is awesome! I purchased it for reviving clothing to sell at consignment sales. I am now defuzzing everything I can get my hands on. It works especially well on the crotch/bum area of cotton, cotton/blend shorts (which pill like crazy on my kid's clothing). I am going to attempt to use it on an old bathing suit and am crossing my fingers it will revive the girl's swimwear. You do have to be careful as some fabrics can get hung up in the machine and it will make a hole. Tip; lay the item out on your ironing board or a counter top instead of just the bed. The resistance from a firmer surface makes it work better. When working on small items (crotch of small pants for example) I just hold it in my hand so I can move it around all the seams and edges.. I wish I had bought one of these YEARS ago! One more tip, throw it in your purse when going to thrift stores. Something you might have passed up may look good as new with a few passes with this thing. Thanks for your awesome videos!

    Great idea. I also heard a recommendation from a woman once who suggested taking your inexpensive slacks, shirts, etc to the cleaner to be pressed, one in awhile, to make them look fresher. As always, love your videos. Happy Sunday, God bless 😊

    • @sabreenraushanahbey9173
      @sabreenraushanahbey9173 9 лет назад

      You may have been pressing too hard on the fabric, those screens that cover the spinning razors are as thin as aluminum foil, they'll crack and snag the fabric and the spinning razors pull the threads in and cuts them off. If it's a small hole, put a small drop of clear nail polish or super glue on the wrong side of the fabric to keep it from unraveling.

    • @btak311
      @btak311 10 лет назад +2

      Madison Layton Sorry but no! I can afford a $16 item, but if you have a family, or a house...or a plain 'ol life, those kind of things add up! I really like this channel because she often finds a less expensive option for us & still manages to get the job done! While I get your comment, I did "think about it" & it won't save me much $...hence my comment for a less expensive option.
