If a PC wanted to play a plant man. My solution would be to take the Ghoran and remove the seed and past life abilities. Then, give it two basic tentacle attacks.

Was there a Barsoom setting for pathfinder by chance?
I believe the Iron Gods adventure path covers a lot of the same territory. So, if you're interested in a pulp adventure that's a good place to start.
