This was so incredibly helpful, thank you!! 😍
I'm so glad! X
Thank you so much. Extremely helpful ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing your hard won experience.
You're welcome. Hope you found it useful X
Wonderful! Many thanks again for reposting these on RUclips. Much easier to find 😊😍
Thank you so much for this helpful trilogy of videos. I've been experimenting with different ways to gild my watercolour paintings and prints and recently discovered Kollner miniatum. I'll be delighted to achieve a finish even half as good as your beautiful mirror shine.
I'm glad you found it useful. I pieces information together from various places and used trial and error, so I'll hopefully save someone else some time and frustration 🤞. X
I love what you do! Do you have a video showing how you prepared your artwork to except the gold leaf?

That's very kind, thank you. The loose leaf and the transfer leaf are from:

The Kölner miniatum is the glue that I use and it's also from gold leaf supplies.
Hope that helps Xx
I love it ! Do you apply paint before the gold size ? If so what paint please. Thank you !
I do, but you can do whichever way round you like. If you're going to use something sticky like oil or acrylic you need to make sure the paint is completely dry and dust the artwork with talc before applying the size. I use watercolour and gouache mainly. Hope that helps.
Thank you for the detailed video. Can i ask What is the paper material your prefer to use for gilding projects ?
Hi. I tend to think about what paper I want for the artwork/painting rather than the gilding. I usually work with watercolor or gouache so use a smooth hot pressed 300gsm paper. The texture of the paper shows through in the gilding but I quite like it. I get a shiner finish to the gold on my prints because the archival paper I use for them is much smoother. Hope that helps. X
Thank you
Hello,
I did many tests with miniatum starting from letting it sit from 15 min to 24h and I never seem to get clean edges 😭 There is always a bit of miniatum that stay around without gluing the gold leaf.
Do you have some advice for me ?
Thank you for making such an in depth video of the process
I’m sorry for the slow reply, are you still struggling? Happy to help if you wanted to message me with a picture (Instagram or email are easiest and won’t get missed). X
Beautiful!💛🤎💛
