It’s no surprise I like optical keyboards - I’ve reviewed a number of them from the insanely expensive Corsair K100 to the truly innovative Wooting Two - and it’s the latter that Razer’s new Huntsman, the V2 Analog, takes after rather closely. Adjustable actuation points, dual step keys, and full xbox controller analog input are all in this new board, as is the K100 matching £250 price tag. Yeah. So, is it worth over £100 more than the Wooting? Lets find out.

I actually like the sound so much. Even though it's a bit loud, it's the kind of loudness that I can appreciate. I am not a big fan of clicky since it feels like el cheapo quality keyboard. Also, the stabilizer on the space bar. My goodness I am in love.
Letting you know that yes, Razer now allows you to program switches on the way up. Was a simple software patch.
insane keyboard and review!!!!!!!! keep up man!!!!!!
I got one of these the other day, it's so nice to type on I came from a razer Cynosa and the quality improvement is so much better it's insane. The keyboard is really well made and very responsive, definitely feels like a premium product and I got mine on sale for £188 on Amazon instead of £250.
I got one used for 60 dollars.
Wooting's key caps are ABS and Razer's are PBT.
Will be interesting to see how it matches up with wooting two HE when it is released.
A PBT key cap set + wrist rest more or less puts them at the same price, at least.
Wooting really shouldn't have done ABS.
I wanted to buy the wooting but the fact I can hypershift on my razer mouse to give the keyboard an extra set of functions won me over
If you are thinking of using it for Fortnite, don't bother. The 360 movement doesn't really work. If you want macros, I guess go for it but you are missing the point of analog keyboards.
@@yamani3882 Ew who plays Fortnite nowadays 🤣🤣
Unless you notice that the Wooting has a Fn key which also allows you to enter a secondary layer. And for everything else there is AHK...
@@maxmustermann7397 I'm not sure you read my comment entirely, yes you are correct and that is useful; however as I highlighted - I hypershift with MB3
Same.
That keyboard noise though and here I thought my Black Widow Chroma was a little clicky :)
I chose this over the latest V3 Pro in 2024. The V3 Pro's wrist-rest was a major step back being non-padded and non-RGB. I'm fine with the V2 Analog's first gen analogue switches and adjustments via software only. Fortunately i managed to find this at $137.
How is this keyboard go ahead to head with a Corsair K100? Which would be a better keyboard for a FPS gamer and programmer? Sub +1
And when it comes to csgo,I think faceit mandates disabling analogue input. So you're SOL if you manage to get used to it and then want to play at a higher level than matchmaking.
Is there a "standard function" for the analog switches so that you can use the function without the software or do you have to activate/assign this function in the software first?
I had to put the spacebar keycap on the other way round because it was too loud. It helped. But I had to set the actuation a whole lot lower because it would’ve activated permanently. I am having serious issues with the software though, such as key inputs getting stuck or not being registered some times.
that chin fluff bro lol , love your vids keep it up
Would you say that the leatherette on this one is any thicker than previous ones? I have had all previous razer wrist-rests start peeling within a couple of years.
Generally on the two year mark and the reason i upgrade (yes i know i can buy them separately).
I just picked one up from Best Buy today. So far it’s amazing... this is coming from a laptop keyboard
Any issues with stuck keys or characters still moving after the key press is over?
This guy seems underrated
I’d love to see/hear a comparison of this key noise vs say the Green version of the Blackwidow Elite or even the louder(compared to the Elite).V3. It does sound loud on this video.
Just today I bought this keyboard and didn’t like the keys, I replaced it with a blakciwdow v3 pro with the green switches which imo is better
*blackwidow
I actually ended up buying this and really like it. Only key that is excessively loud is the space bar. The keys actually feel really good to me. I had tried a Razer BW Elite with greens and this is quieter to me.
Are any musicians using these keyboards to have velocity-sensitive keys during musical performances? All the use-cases I can find are gaming related.
11:40 hovering pinky typist lol
Have you had any issue with the wasd keys sticking when moving a character for example in an MMO? I've read 5 recent reviews on Amazon claiming they have this issue and 1 yt vid showing it but have you experienced this? Ty
i got this keyboard and i haven't had that issue
@Johnston Wang oh yeah after re reading this comment it does that sometimes you just click escape tho and it fixes it every time
so your at plug the mouse into the keyboard. im assuming.
They put one type c and one type a is because most motherboard only come with one type c at the back
Ok. Razer, this is how your keyboards should all sound.
Wait wait wait…what is going on with the “ENTER” button?
He isn't joking on how loud this keyboard is.
Release a TKL version and I’ll buy it
me too i think they will cost lesser
yea same thing I saying. I just want the switches they sound so nice
I want a mini version
@@johnnyreis7915 but we gonna wait for one year like original huntsman tkl and mini
Problem is to use the second function or hypershift you kinda need those extra keys.
Is it quieter than the old Huntsman and Elite? The regular Huntsman I have it loud
yes it is linear
@@rat.1 Yeah I ended up getting one and I prefer it over the old Huntsman, definitely not as loud
@@MrZodiac011 Do you think the Hunstman Elite is better than this verision, I currently have the Huntsman Elite. Thinking about either buying a new Elite or this keyboard.
What's next? RGB cables!
@@weplaywax damn, I should've known that if anything RGB sounds crazy/silly, then it probably came out already
I mean, ain't Razer the one who started these optomechanical switches at the first place?
The Huntsman Elite (V1) had an RGB wrist rest so that's not new. Nor are the switches as they have been available in the Razer Tartarus Pro keypad for some time.
I find it odd that actuation distances of less than 1.5mm aren't available considering the 1.0mm default of the linears on the Huntsman Tournament Edition. Further, I wish Razer would have included the sound dampeners from the Huntsman Mini. The former I don't mind so much, but the latter is a real missed opportunity that is what will ultimately hold me back from purchasing the V2 Analog. Perhaps this is something the company can address in a V3 model or, even better, a Tournament Edition.
Damn bro take stick out your ass and relax There's good and bad about everything bit funny how people become tribal when talking companies
Does this works on apex?
idk I love the sound of the keyboard, a very good loud clanky sound
it sounded really bad ngl. but i've just been spoiled by customs so its preference
@@amathine440 i make custom keyboards but i think it sounds good ngl
Checked out in person and sounds the best out of all of them Purchased for my 15 yr old son
Why pick Razer over Wooting? The 2 things I can think of are production capacity and distribution channels. Mainstream brands usually have more stocks and more accessible in more countries. Anyway, thanks for showing the bad sound. I have Blackwidow V3 and it seems Razer really need to think again about how loud is LOUD... I hate it.
I thought the same with the Blackwidow V3, so much so, I returned it for the Elite. My whole house knew I was typing when using the V3. The Elite isn’t as bad and pretty good IMO.
My guess is that since the V3 doesn’t have the USB/Audio pass through like the Elite, there’s really.nothing inside and the hollowness makes the key press sound more pronounced. The Elite seems more solid which may dampen the key sounds a bit.
@@chuckw1629 Good for you. Unfortunately, return policy in my country is not that great.
12:31 , best frame of the episode
volume controls and the wrist rest tip me for razer. also env conscious packing and fast shipping
If you guys are looking for a much cheaper keyboard but a still good one go for the aukey red switch. It's about 55 dollars on Amazon and it looks and feels almost identical to the razer one except obviously it isn't analog. But just letting you guys know!
Nah mate, that has no RGB, no wrist rest, no pass through. It’s a lot cheaper for a reason as it forgoes a lot of the extra bits you get with the v2 analog
@@ashwinalagendran6748 no, that one has full rgb. Full n key rollover and a USB pass through on the side. Your looking at the wrong one mate
Apex pro or Huntsman v2
Oh... my god, that's a loud sound.
I wanted to try the analog keys, but 1.5 mm deadzone is a no. Keepo
man looks like your banging the crap out of your keyboard when your typing lol
So why is it called the huntsman ?
@@acrylicshard spider what ?
razer namesd there keyboards after spiders asd the blackwidow and the huntsman are both the names of spiders to be completely honest i agree it should be called the huntsman
Ohh it sucks that the adjustable actuation only is adjustable from 1,5 mm! No one in their right mind would go anywhere near 3.5! No reason for the scale to be as it is! 0,5 to 2,5 or even better - 0,1 mm to 2 mm would be nice! But Razer dropped the ball on this one!
No way I can be gaming at 1am with this
12:00 oh shit, that noise
This doesnt even compare with the wooting. The lack of a rapid fire equivalent.... smh. Its always the name brands half-assing it, justlike razer and steelseries have done with their keyboards...
I got this keyboard and it has too many issues and it's the worst keyboard I ever used.
Just not a fan of Razer. The build quality is slightly lacking compared to SteelSeries and Corsair. I have the Apex 7 Pro and compared to the Razer, is like comparing Fort Knox to a bank. The Apex 7 Pro is absolutely amazing, and has THE best RGB of any keyboard!
lol these are so loud
There all loud lmao
Huh, Razer had started to look pretty Meh until now... Looks a Little too complicated, but for sure giving some nice customisation, without a million extra keys.....
This fails to show me how to use setup controller movements on the keyboard for Fortnite, what a complete waste of time!!!
It’s a “review” quit being an idiot and watch a proper video. Or read the manual, oh wait u probably cant
@@samuelhernandez4135 I wouldn't be here if the manual was comprehensive. Razer is just not good enough with their guides or software. I am just mad that I spent hours, even with their techs trying to get 360 movements in Fortnite to work. It seems like they don't know what they are doing either. Also, it's just that I hate videos that are long and not straight to the point. Every video like this should be precise and to the point. That's why I am frustrated.
@@yamani3882 the point was to review the product and he did just that, this isn’t a how to.
@@samuelhernandez4135 Most people who are going to buy this keyboard, need it to get 360 movement in competitive games like Fortnite. He failed to provide anything useful for that group of people and decided to demonstrated other games in his review.
