    I used to get depressed/anxious a lot but since I've had a few kids and started being active at my church I don't get that anymore - even when something bad happens. Things that would have totalled me before I am more able to cope now. I have community/ friends through church and my family. It's not just support, it's that they need me. They also force me to get out; my three boys need a lot of outside time. I have play dates/ classes I take my boys to and in friends with the moms so we get to have a chat while the boys play, church is twice a week too. I think it's that my life is now built so that it's not just mine; I have responsibilities to other people. I think that's what has been different for me at least and it has helped way more than when I was trying to perfect my diet or my sleep/ exercise and seeing a therapist etc.

      @@DimitriTheBarbarian It is very true my man.. Alcohol creates anxiety , Andrew Huberman talks about the baseline , meaning your normal state of mind, when people often consume alcohol even if they may go days without drinking it , because of it's structure to be water-soluable meaning alcohol gets into every cell in your body and does extensive damage , it also effects your mood by getting into your brain cells so your baseline happiness actually goes down as a result of consuming alcohol. It simply means, when you are sober you still get very anxious if you often consume alcohol ..

  • @Zebra66
    @Zebra66 6 месяцев назад +12

    Exercise is important but it can't cure depression. In my experience too much can actually contribute to it by making you feel depleted.
    More than anything you must learn to control your thoughts and find a purpose in life.
    Allowing the negative committee in your head to run away with itself will cause fear, anxiety, insomnia and depression.
    This is why prayer is so beneficial. Forcing yourself to focus on something positive like showing gratitude for the blessings in your life or thinking about someone else for a change is life altering.

    • @bradthompson5383
      @bradthompson5383 6 месяцев назад

      If you are depressed the risk of doing too much exercise is negligible.

    • @Zebra66
      @Zebra66 6 месяцев назад +1

      @bradthompson5383 You are wrong. I've lived that cycle and seen it in others. People who think they can run their depression away and end up making it worse or injuring themselves.
      Some over-exercise. Others become lethargic and do nothing. Some flip flop between the two.
      A lot of depression is effected by hormone deficiencies. Low testosterone, for example, is often dismissed as depression. It makes injuries more likely.
      It's better to think of depression as a symptom, not a condition, then figure out the cause before deciding how to treat it.
      Depending on the cause exercise could hurt them, kill them (heart failure can cause depression) or help a little. Probably a good idea to figure out which ahead of time...

    Micro dose psilocybin. Worked wonders for me. I had been on Cymbalta for neuropathy for over a year. And I really didn’t like it after a while. I didn’t like who I was. And it didn’t give me enough relief to justify it. So I went off it. And for months after I was an emotional roller coaster. Mostly just depression. I decided to try micro dosing. And it changed everything for me almost immediately. I was only doing it once to twice a week. I have felt 2 kinds of depression. One is despair. That’s when u focus to much on things in life that aren’t going your way. This one felt chemical. Like I had no power to get out of it. And I couldn’t enjoy anything. I think that’s why it worked so well. Because it changed me on a chemical level. I never even took enough to feel any effects at all. It’s absolutely crazy how well it worked. Anecdotally I know. But I hope people look into it and it helps them. Not medical advice. Do your own research.
