Congratulations!!! I am so happy to hear that you have officially graduated (as a final year PhD student myself)! You deserve the great break!
Thank you so much! Best of luck with your final year 🤩🤩
Congratulations Dr! I’ve got my Viva on Monday and I’m stressing! I also started a new job and worried about the corrections and the time i might be given!
It was reassuring seeing you go through this as well. Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks so much! Best of luck with your viva today, I’m sure it’ll go super well :-) please let me know how it went! There are a few months to get the corrections done, I was in a rush because I wanted to graduate in summer but it didn’t work out that way in the end as my dad needed surgery so I will graduate finally at the end of the month! Good luck again :)
Congratulations, hope your research would be for the betterment of mankind.
Thank you so much!
CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA!!! i'm doing my undergrad in biochem and YOU INSPIRED ME SO MUCH!! looking forward to the New York vlog!
Thank you so much! I am super happy 🤩
Congratulations Dr. Jessica 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 🤩🤩

Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 over the journey you have inspired me so much to pursue a phd degree.
Thank you so much ❤
I would love to watch you flourish in the research field.🥰
Thank you! 🤩 ahh wow! Any questions you have please let me know :)
@@drjessicagomezb please accept my LinkedIn request. We'll talk there.
Just inspiring to watch this video as a first-year PhD student😍😇
Ahh best of luck with your PhD journey and thank you for watching 🤩🤩
a huge congratulations on your viva (p.s I just learnt this word from you lol) and your new wins.
Thank you so much!! Haha, yes in the U.K. we call it a viva but it seems like everywhere else calls it a phd defence 🤣
❤😮 Can't wait
😄😄
Hi...Dr. Jessica ... love and best wishes for your new journey .. from India
Hi!! Thank you so much 😄
First video i watch of your channel. Happy to listen you graduated. New suscriber 🙂✌️
Hi!! Thanks for watching and subscribing 😄
Congratulations Dr. Jessica... Sending ❤ from India...
Thanks so much!
please also upload your daily life vlogs. your casual vlogs etc. your workspace, your university, your work laboratory, etc.
Noted! Thanks for the suggestions 😄
Honestly waiting for this
I hope you enjoy it!! 😋
@@drjessicagomezb I did. it was an amazing video. its usually a struggle switching fields. i felt somewhat out of place at my work when i just started. I am doing my research in inorganic synthetic chemistry and work in research in Radiation protection. there is a small area of intersection but as you said, its the skills that are relevant for work. look forward to more.
Thank you!! Yes it’s been very challenging for me also, I feel like a beginner again or like a first year PhD student again 😅 but yes, it’s more about the skills you learn and using the skill of teaching yourself things too!! Which we often become very good at during a PhD 🤣
@@drjessicagomezb you are right
Its feels good. My correction have been accepted but my primary signed my clearance form in the last week to the christmas break, so still waiting for my award letter. However, because it was a collaborative phd I need to get money for visa, plane ticket to Uk for graduation from Ghana.
Congratulations! Great news :) I hope you manage to get back to the U.K. for your graduation!
@@drjessicagomezb Still working on coming back for the graduation. My Supervisors cannot help, a $1000 will be enough. The cheapest plane ticket is around $569.
Hello Dr. Sending love from Cambodia

Thank you very much
I would like to hear of the other side of the research is there any presentation to be made to the company that sponsored you the decommissioning one? Is there any opportunity for patent work from your research? Perhaps you can take us through the Post Doctoral journey and how you transitioned into getting the current job? Also a bit of perspective of the research that you are doing now?
Great suggestions Michael! I’ve noted them all down :-) thank you!
@@drjessicagomezb Please also let us know what are the further opportunities after getting ph.d or masters. How it is different from other professions.
Hey ! Dr. Jessica , can you tell me one thing, Is there any experiment to write a thesis paper? What different experiments are required for the different research publications that are done after the PhD thesis? 😊❤
Hi Sourav, I’m not sure what you mean! Usually a paper is based on a series of experiments that you have already conducted and the results are good so you write a paper to share them with the wider scientific community
where ve you been chemist, hopefully you are doing great Dr !
I’m doing good thanks! :-)
Much long time Viva.
Yes it was a very long viva 😅😅
In our University Viva timing is about 1.5 hour☺️☺️
Hi Dr.jessica mam, I am the new viewer of your channel, i want to become a scientist in the field of chemistry, I completed my 12th grade last year, now i joined in the college for bsc chemistry.. What are the ways to do PhD , and become a research scientist..?
Hello! During your bsc it would be good to get some research experience by doing a summer placement or internship in a research lab at the university or within industry. Maybe your bsc will offer mini research projects also as part of the course which will be valuable for applying for a PhD later on. At some universities they will accept student directly after completing a BSc but other universities might require a masters degree. Good luck!c
@@drjessicagomezb Thank you mam.
