I'm a guitar player, and whenever I feel like giving up I just listen to RHCP and focus on John's guitar playing, and it reminds me of why I started playing in the first place.
Time travel implies you go thru time which is what we are doing but to go anywhere you really need to go outside time and then expose yourself to the same conditions to create time again.
Every band has their high water mark. When the night is perfect, the venue, the crowd, the vibe, the sound and the performance and the relationship between the band and their audience. This was the night where everything fell into place for the RHCP. A truly magical evening 😌

But By The Way takes on a more classic mostly new-wave touch, just in the nature of avoiding blues for that record to have it's full sentimental sound. But Flea obviously needs to rock. Entwhistle is a great, and The Who is very straight rock since the beginning.
My proudest moment in time is looking back 30 yrs and playing RHCP BSSM Album every day loud as loud can be for my son who turned 30 today, and his a solid Chilli peppers fan. My job is done. To inspire creativity within my son is a legacy, he is a very talented musician, I bought his first guitar for his 12th birthday and the first song he learnt was under the bridge, maximum respect.
I get so emotional listening to this version of scar tissue. Especially during those Frusciante solos... it puts off such a powerful energy through the speakers. Can’t imagine what it must’ve felt like being there in person.

When they're on they're really on. This gig was the perfect storm. Everything came together for this gig, from the mixing, singing, timing etc. John and Flea displayed the most symbiotic bass and guitar combo I've ever seen. They have an unsurpassed creative chemistry together.

As far as I'm concerned, John Frusciante (and to a lesser extent the entire RHCP, but seeing as he's not with them anymore) is/was the only musician who continued rock and roll from the 70s in the purest form. When it was just about the music. And the talent. And the soul. And the passion. You could plonk him on the stage at Woodstock and he'd be not only in his element, but in no way, shape or form different to this very day. He makes hardcore love to the guitar and everyone's ears everytime he picks it up. A legend like we most likely will never see again.
well said....not only that but a brilliant songwriter and vocal harmonist....I understand why he wanted to leave rhcp and he went out with a bang with a double album stadium arrcadium which is full of some of his best guitar work but idk why he abandoned guitar and is obsessed with electronic music which has no soul to it no human interaction...he is such a great writer I am hoping his next solo album will be the real froosh not that techno trance...idk he is one of my biggest influences and just want to hear his real art.

I was at this gig and John was God like in his playing and angelic in his singing. Everything about this gig was/is magical. One of the best gigs I have ever had the pleasure to witness. There just ain't enough superlatives to do it justice. John is a genius, the band are awesome
This is one of the best performances by anyone, ever. Man I know this shit in my sleep, I watched this so many tines over the years since my early teens that it would be impossible to count. John's solos in this version of Scar Tissue are pure bliss, TO DIE FOR. I love when Flea looks at him at the end of the second solo like he didn't see that coming. Pure perfection and very hard to beat.

I know as a whole the Chili Peppers are an incredible band, and each member gets their recognition, but I think CHAD SMITH doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, he’s one of the most rhythmical drummers out there

Some musicians lose their soul in music as time goes on, I can’t say that for Chad at all, I feel he’s only gotten better.

I know as a whole the Chili Peppers are an incredible band, and each member gets their recognition, but I think CHAD SMITH doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, he’s one of the most rhythmical drummers out there
The problem being that drummers and bassists gets very few moments of their own. Rhcp still is an exception
@@sibayandutta7816 I was lucky enough to see them august last year. I’m a drummer too and smiled to see Chad get like 3 drum solos between some song transitions. He’s on my Mt. Rushmore of Drummers. Some musicians lose their soul in music as time goes on, I can’t say that for Chad at all, I feel he’s only gotten better.
Chad is on Rolling Stones best drummers of all time and he’s a ror hall of famer dont feel bad for him hahaha he’s a legend
I rate Chad, Flea and John all as some of the best at their respective instruments since the 70s.
