- This is the latest review on Turkish Airlines flight from Dubai to Istanbul. What has changed onboard Turkish Airlines?
My flight had nearly 300 passengers on it and was operated by a B777-300/ER, registration TC-JJZ. We departed Dubai and were treated to the great city sights. I was not surprised to see that everything provided onboard was sealed and wrapped. The cabin seems thoroughly cleaned. The onboard catering at Turkish Airlines has been changed significantly, breakfast was served in a box in Business Class and in a paper bag in Economy. The rest of the flight was eventless, with a good landing at Istanbul. Enjoy some 360-cockpit action of the pilot flying the B777-300/ER.
I met with Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, İlker Aycı, he provided me with a very engaging and inspirational interview. The interview provides an intriguing insight into Turkish Airlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. We touched on topics such as Government bail outs, layoffs, network, catering and cargo operations.

Sacrificing customer service to avoid layoffs and save jobs is a commendable move by the chairman. But premium customers will just start flying economy because why would you pay a business class fare for economy service.
More like they will just start using other airlines.
Agree! I flew CKG - IST - IAD back in Dec and service couldn’t be more disappointing. Cold sandwiches and mezze - pretty much the same kind for the entire sectors. No coffee/ tea service in Y class, no shower facility at TK Lounge Istanbul..they basically cancel everything out in the name of Covid.
To keep having mire space, comfortable seating, still having thd feelinv if superiority
Thats something Air Canada did. They dont care about anyones jobs at the bottom all they care about is saving money. How do they save money? Laying off almost everyone. Turkish has class sacrificing certain things in order for their staff to keep their jobs

The camera at cabin its amazing plus a good idea for security. A black box storing the recording video and audio at cabin will give a new vision for investigations at every accident

@@mercybalones4670 All airlines did this because there is a pandemic and the economy of airlines has dropped. So this is not something unique to Turkish Airlines only.

Was traveling almost every month during pre-Covid days and haven't done so in more than a year. I am not too bothered with the meals - being able to take a flight and travel again is in itself a privilege. Looking forward to things being "close to normal again" soon ..... hopefully

Dear Sam, I’ve just boarded a TK flight from Amsterdam to Istanbul in business and I thought of your video re TK airlines.
It’s always a delight boarding a Turkish Airlines flight.
As soon as I was settled in my seat I was handed a menu card by a lovely staff member.
A Turkish Mezze as a starter, selection of three main courses and a selection of cheeses or a dessert. I must say I can’t wait to dig into the Turkish style meatballs and vegetable casserole.
Things have changed since my last in December and I’m pleased with that 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Economy class meal is like we don't want to give a meal but here you go!
No, They gives sandwiches or pasta+tomato sauce sometimes. They're good for me

Turkish Airlines is really amazing. Not only coz they got a great air planes but also their young and very energetic crew are also make ur flight very positive. of course pandemic has hit every single of things and changed whole life that includes the way we used to fly as well.

TURKISH AIRLINES IS BIG SCAM! I had error in my name on ticket. They asked all document to correct name. after sending all proving documents they made me to buy another ticket, promising me to refund first ticket. After while they send me refund confirmation number, but refund never happened. I contacted them with their terrible feedback customer support system. They asked me to visit their headquarter office which is always closed and may not even exist. and i am still waiting for my refund, and i read comments, which i am not only one the victim of their scam!

I flew Turkish airlines 6 months ago in the pandemic and they barely served food on a long haul 12 hour flight and the crew was fine but they only served 2 meals which were meehhhh and I asked for something and i didn’t even get it in fact she just gave me a pen and just went away I was disappointed.......

I flew international flight using Turkish Airlines. It was very sad. Exactly like Sam's experienced. In busuness class, there us no pillow, only 1 thin blanket, no duvet, no hot meal, nor hot beverages either. 2 legs international flights, I'd got the sane meal, cold unsatisfied sandwich. Turkush Airlines was my favorit airlines, before. Now, I will rethink to fly TK.
They have ups and downs but right now they are just decently good.
Once again thanks Sam! Good to hear that they are bringing back their hot meals! I wanted to book a trip from NYC to Lahore, PK with them but was looking elsewhere because my kids would wound up starving on this economy meal.
Another great vid Sam. Turkish Airlines has the right idea with switching to freight more. What with everyone being stuck indoors, online purchasing has gone manic. There are only so many freight shipping services and they're going to be swamped.
At this point I’m just happy to get on something with wings and go somewhere that’s not here. The lack of service sucks on many airlines but, for now, I get it. I don’t mind going no frills on a legacy carrier if the price reflects the same as the ULCC

If the food in business class has changed, is there a difference in price for the ticket? Part of business class is the expectation of better meals and personalized service. A boxed meal does not cut it.
I think their is no change in the ticket fare.
Yes the meals are the same but it’s a lot comfier and safer!

I flew with TK on their IST-BOS-IST flights past December and January and the in flight service was a disaster. Although I try to understand measures taken were due to pandemic; on such a long flight (10 hours almost) they served a small box (sandwich, cake, juice, water) for main meal and the paper bag seen in your video for the second service. And both service were almost had same contents.
If an announcement was made at check-in or at their web site about bringing our own food, it would be understandable.
I just flew on Turkish airlines from Istanbul to Los Angeles. They are the best. The crew is so polite, helpful and the two meals we had were delicious. I will always use them in the future. ❤️👍
Thanks for another very enjoyable video Sam. I was impressed by the Chairman of Turkish Airlines. So many corporations these days have the opposite view to him & just see their staff as a throwaway commodity.
One thing I have noticed is that you very rarely criticise any airline these days. Trust me some do deserve it!
Good news: Turkish returned full meal service in business! Tested on 08/03/21 on led-ist; ist-dxb flights. There was a choice of 2-3 hot meal options, traditional cutlery and glassware. The purser told that in a few weeks they would return meal service in economy as well

I travel back and forth to work with Turkish (no business though) and I have to say I like them very much. Mostly new planes, nice crew, pretty decent food and so on :)

No. Transit passengers(as long as they don't enter Turkey and remain at the transit area) doesn't need a PCR test.
I get very good vibes from the chairman. Open minded and running the business in an agile manner. That’s a leader that is passionate and can rally up people to support his vision. I’ve only experienced Turkish airlines once in 2019 flying on a brand new A321 Neo to IST and returning on a new A330 Neo and all I can say is fantastic aircraft, service and delicious food, even in Economy! I’d love to fly with them again.

@@julosx Lmao be grateful you got anything in economy on a 4 hour flight during the pandemic. I flew for 4 hours on British Airways recently and there was NO complementary meal. Just overpriced M&S food.

@@anavgeekspassion5727 when your an airline that relies on connecting passengers and are located close to the middle east, you have to be on par or better than emirates, qatar airways. if those 2 are serving, turkish should too.

I had the same experience flying to Istanbul from São Paulo 2 weeks ago, but in economy class. The middle seats was not sold. I think is just cost cutting. But the meal was OK for me.
