Ty for your video! From the half dozen videos ive seen of thus show you need to rest and eat well! 😮❤ Gorgeous work and overwhelmingly inspirational. I was hoping you would have zoom ed in on the year that one red and white was stitched. I believe its very old.❤ Pretty purchases and thimble.
You're very welcome Jayne, glad you enjoyed it! Oh definitely - thankfully they had lots of areas where you could sit down which was great - I think I would definitely take more snacks with me for sustenance next time! Oh yes apologies most of those red and white quilts had been made in the late 1800's - the level of detail was exquisite ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! and aren't they just - I almost feel they're too pretty to cut into, but they need to fulfil their purpose right, haha!
It was so inspiring seeing all the wonderful quilts made by such clever people. Thank you for filming them for us to see. I love the pretty fabrics you purchased and the special thimble. I have just come across you on RUclips so I will look forward to catching up with you again soon.
Aw you're very welcome Jacqueline! 😊 So glad you enjoyed the video and thanks so much for wanting to join along with my creative endeavours, it really means a lot! 💕
That was delightful. The opal thimble is so pretty - Just in case you aren't aware, avoid getting the opal wet, as it makes them very Liable to cracking.
Thanks so much! And thank SO much for letting me know about the opal - I had no idea this can happen so even more mindful now to keep it away from water!
Yes I was there on Thursday it was amazing the last time before that was lockdown, but I know what you mean you need a good few days to absorb everything 😊❤ her thimbles are gorgeous, that tilde quilt was amazing the lady said it took the creater 800 hours to do wow, so many gorgeous quilts 😊 did you see the lady with the applique tools she demonstrated too very interesting ❤
Aw we might have even passed each other! So glad you enjoyed it too 🥰 I know - so inspiring to see all the amazing work people have put into their projects - and yes I did see them, I tried to go back to have a look at the demo they were doing, but it was so busy! I use their scissors for all my projects, they're are amazing!
Thank you for filming and uploading this. I had tickets to go to the FOQ but broke my leg 3 weeks ago. I’ve so enjoyed watching your video which has given me a little virtual tour of what I’ve missed. Maybe I’ll see you there next year!
You're welcome Jayne! Oh no I'm so sorry to hear this - I hope you're doing ok? I feel like next years festival will be here before you know it (I feel like this year has gone so quickly!) and that would be lovely to see you there ☺
Thank you, Yasmeen, that was lovely! Maybe one day I will get to the Festival of Quilts myself. Were there many hand quilted quilts there, apart from the vintage ones?
Aw you're welcome Loraine! Glad you enjoyed it 😊 Yes if you ever get the chance it really is so much fun! Yes there were quite a few, definitely more hand quilting there this year than I've seen in previous years which was so amazing to see. I'll keep an eye out for some more modern examples next time I'm at quilt show!
Hi Yasmine - just watched your trip around ‘ Festival of Quilts’ 2023 - it was just great - as I was unable to get there myself - very inspiring ! - I then looked you up on Instagram and have signed up to your Turned Appliqué online workshop in Dec. run by V&A museum ! But my question is I’d really like to know the name of Hotel you spoke of in the film so I can get booked up in good time next year and not miss actually going to the show !
Hello Jennifer! I'm so pleased you enjoyed the video - it's such a fun, inspiring place to go 😊 Oh this is so exciting you've signed up to my class with the V&A, yay! I've got a design lined up that will be a lovely small project to get to grips with the technique so I do hope you enjoy it! And the hotel I stayed at (and also stayed at last year too) is the Moxy Hotel - I really love it, clean rooms, good selection for breakfast and like I said literally a hop skip and jump to the entrance to the NEC. They have an allocated parking location which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, which is not too bad. The other hotel my quilty friends stayed at that they really like is the Genting hotel (parking us underground the hotel I think) or the Hilton which is across the lake - just in case you'd like some options 😊
@@sandandstarsinteriordesign thanks for getting back to me so quickly I’m most impressed ! but also for the hotel info thank you look forward to Dec and your V&A appliqué course - Jenny
