- It's time to let go a little with this wet-on-wet leaf bouquet composition.
Let's paint this colorful and fanciful leaf composition using wet-onwet techniques and lots of color.
Colors I use in this video:
Dioxizine Purple
Quinacridone Magenta
Sap Green
Phthalo Blue
Transparent Pyrrol Orange
Quin Gold
Cobalt Blue
I'll be using my QOR palette. But you can find all the colors in other popular brands like Daniel Smith, M. Graham, Windsor and Newton and Sennelier
Let's paint!

I love doing exercises like this it’s seriously a great watch to practice.
QOR paints travel beautifully. Brands like Holbein and Mijello Mission Gold don't travel much because they don't contain oxgall. If you have slow moving paints you can add a little oxgall into your rinse water and that should help them blend more on the paper.
I live my QOR paints. Great recommendation for those other brands.
again, thank you, Shana. your tutorials are well-thought-out: color theory, strokes, water & paint, value & depth, brush size, control, paper that are all in 1 piece to produce a lovely finished piece. definintely encouraging to all, especially for beginners like me.
Awww. Thank you for your kind words. You are so sweet! Thank you for watching!
Just had to drop a comment regarding this specific video. I enjoy all of your videos tremendously, but this one struck a cord with me. I am picking up watercolor painting after many years, and I definitely have “control” issues which has stymied my loose application in the painting of flowers. So many of the comments you made while painting this project felt like you were talking to me specifically/directly. Thank you for not only your beautiful artwork but your teaching style as well. It’s very unique, you are quite the talent. Thank you so much.
I’m so glad you feel inspired and supported watching these videos. It’s why I do them. Your comment inspires me to keep going. Thank you so much for watching. 🙏😊

Oh wow, this looks totally gorgeous!! I'm saving this vid to watch in full later, but what a wonderful progression of the techniques you showed us in the mini leaf samplers of last week 💜. Thank you for your inspiration Shana 😽
Thank you Bonita! I’m glad you are enjoying the videos.

Looks really fancy! I think it would be good for a warm-up after a long break from watercolour. 😂 Btw you have a beautiful name, it sounds like Cersei from Game of Thrones, ahah. You got my subscribe! ^_^
Thank you and thanks for watching and subscribing. 😁. I promise, I do not aspire for world domination like the Cersei in Game of Thrones 👸
Holy moly this is gorgeous ~ I can't wait to try. Thank you!
Simply beautiful!

This is amazing
This is so pretty!
Thank you!
Lovely 😊
Thank you!
i tried this technique today and couldn’t get the colour to run smoothly in the water leaves. i either got cauliflowers or the colour just sat there and didn’t transition into the water leaf like yours does in this video, any tips? i’m using winson and smith paint
Sometimes it’s the paper and sometimes it’s the paint that can make this process a little different. Cauliflowers are harder to avoid if you are using a cellulose (non cotton) paper. And water tends to sit on the surface while it dries rather than absorb through the fibers. Some paints need a little more help traveling and you may need to push them along with a damp brush. Keep practicing with the materials you have and you will learn their quirks. I hope that helps. 😊
thanks fir the tips!
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
How did you mix your green? What colors did you use?
I used sap green and a little phthalo blue with the sap green for the darker shades I. This video.
