A segment low is Xuv700 awd n a segment up will anyway be the fortuner market for suvs in India. For the pricing this will have a tough time in India. Recently I was travelling on my friend's Grand Cherokee SRT in Kolkata for sometime, honestly I am not a fan of stiff ride quality on our regular roads. Already Compass is not seeing good numbers compared to old one because of steep pricing. So this one for sure will have a tough time selling. As Rachit bhai said we dont need super power or that 4x4 regularly, so no matter how capable this one is over Xuv 700 awd still that is a better car to buy at its price.

I've checked everywhere, automobile forums, teambhp etc and was unable to find and xuv700 owner facing suspension problem. On the other hand Jeep is the worst when it comes to reliability. But I would like to point out that even the Compass had a lot issues and were recalled couple of times when it was initially launched you will find a lot videos on youtube too (but this happens with all the brand). One thing I have explained in one of my videos, a lot people after buying the Thar started doing insane things on the car assuming it is unbreakable or it can go anywhere do anything, so in the process of testing its capabilities people do screw out their cars.
If the price is 35 lakh on road than only it will be able to compete with other products in same category. Also the ambient lighting could have been added feature to make it more attractive.
This is 100x times better than the fortuner.The fortuner is crap.The ride quality is horrible and the interior is crap.The only reason people buy it is because it is reliable and looks imposing.The merdian is miles ahead of the fortuner in every way.It’s a jeep,the built quality will be far better than fortuner.Don’t even compare it with fortuner.
I don't know why but I feel that this will also not work for the Jeep company. It's a Fortuner dominated segment. Even cars like Endeavour, Alturas couldn't survive then what can it do. 🙂
I don't think that it will give tough competition to fortuner. The reason being it is not big as fortuner. There is almost no headspace in any seat ., can't adjust second row seats 👎🏼

With good drive quality and OffRoading capabilities it gives a good package overall! But it's major downside is the space management. Meridian mainly built as a 7-seater version of Compass but there we can't see it as a perfect seven seater!! Third row is meant only for kids or to extend boot size!! But TBH I don't see a Good Going for this car in Indian market!! The segment is already booked by Fortuner which gives much more comfort to Third Row passengers than this!! We've already seen the downfall of one of the greatest SUV of this budget, Endeavour...so I don't think the brand value of Jeep will bring much difference there!! I owned both the Fortuner and Endeavour and both used to rock like a boat . Also both have dated interiors and I was not happy. Presently I have a Land Rover disco sports.
