I like this car a lot, from the design language to its off-road capabilities.
The only deal breaker for me is that engine ! Jeep should have given it a more powerful engine at least in the 4x4 configuration :(
The power could have been better. Obviously this car will cost atleast 40-45 lakhs on road but the Xuv700 which is almost 15 lakhs cheaper has more power on offer.
Don’t go just by numbers, go and ride it. I own a Jeep Compass facelift model S and the sheer driving pleasure is 10 times better than xuv700. Please test drive the vehicle

Even endeavour also used to come with 170 bhp engine whereas it was priced same as fortuner. But its torque was 70 nm more than merridian.
No the 3.2 tdci inline 5 in endeavour produced 201 hp and 478 nm of torque!! But they discontinued it ,

What’s the point of such a car when it’s underpowered. Spending 40-45L on road to get an underpowered and no captain seats option. Gloster and Fortuner will remain people’s choice for different reasons. And you got me at 27:48 haha.

This is a bummer for me coz it does not get ADAS when the international one gets it.
Compass was shown in off-roading by a famous RUclipsr where the driver had no skills and blamed the vehicle, but another RUclipsr just drove past the same road in a Compass with ease. Jeep wanted to avoid that situation.

Fortuner is definitely overpriced but it also comes with great after sale service, low maintenance and best road presence. meridian just isn’t it. Only XUV900 seems it could do something in future.

@@sillyom7071 Don't think Meridian is trying to dethrone Fortuner. It can just slot into the place of Endy. Yes, it doesn't have the road presence of Fortuner or after sales-service. However, whenever a product gets sold in huge numbers, sales-service too upticks. We are seeing a number of Compass these days on road. Hopefully with this growing sell volume, their service network increases.

The Jeep Meridian is a great car but positioning it against the Fortuner at a price of 40 lakhs is a big mistake. Only Toyota price they're cars at a insane amount and people will happily lap them up as Toyota has such a fan following. Jeep should understand that and should have priced the Meridian more aggressively. It's a great car now only time will tell if it manages to win over the crowd or not.
