Well said Billy and like you said in a previous video you're ready for it to be just you and your brother that would piss me off someone driving my car's without your permission don't matter who it is
He's definitely a cutie! I love seeing Uncle Tommy with him ( little human cracks me up). Billy/ Molly y'all did good, be great parents, you have an awesome canvass right there. Good luck this weekend In WV! I predict Tommy and Raggedy Ann in the Finals!
That Supra is beautiful. I sure hope that big block is ready for war in the woods. Ole Billy not as timid as he used to be parenthood does things like that . But I’m 100% with him on the change in the people who work on the cars has been dropping the ball. I like his passion for excellence when he works on his cars .
I said that very same thing, Billy is totally different now because everything beforehand was just about taking part and always going rounds in the S10, but after becoming a dad, like myself and most dad's, every decision is for his family now and the fun times can still happen but after the racing us done, the last post you could see Billy was annoyed about the little things so he's just becoming what the old man was always pushing him to do be the boss, make a decision and except responsibility for things he should have done right.. THE OLD MEASURE TWICE AND CUT ONCE KIND OF SIMPLIFYING IT...SRC IS GOING TO BE AROUND FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.... THAT NOVA'S GOING TO BE A BEAST WHEN EVERYTHING IS FIXED... ITS GOOD SEEING THE COMPETITIVENESS BETWEEN BILLY AND TOMMY, BOTH WILL MAKE EACH OTHER A PROBLEM FOR OTHERS..THAT ENGINE IS IN THE RIGHT HAND WITH BOB , HE LOVES HELPING OUT THE BOYS..
I commented on House of Pearls post they made when they finished the car, and in this video holy hell man!! That first shot of after y’all got in the shop and Molly was poppin the hood, my God man!!! It’s freaking beautiful!!! They absolutely KILLED that paint job!!! Wow dude!
House of Pearls did a beautiful job on the Supra. Really looking forward to what the 55' is going to look like. Wyatt getting so big and so is his personality. Will get the big block straightened out. Go fast and be safe. God bless you and your family and friends.
That color on the supra looks fantastic 😮😮 But you pulled a great save on the motor. I can't believe that you couldn't hear the slap in those pistons, but the exhaust is loud so.. But good save all the same.😊😊😊😊
Checken in from Morgantown WV!! I was born and raised in Fairmont WV. Long story short. Yrs ago there was a drag strip in Fairmont called Eldora Dragway. What good times we all had there. Fun fact... @ 1 time Eldora was the only 1000ft strip on the east coast. When everyone was going to 1/8th mile tracks per regulation. Eldora found a loophole that kept it @ 1000ft. Sadly an industrial park resides on the property now! 😢😢 What a cool outlaw track Eldora was !!
As a race engine builder, you must use sealer on the rocker stand bolts! I use Venom pipe thread sealant! Also don't use Diamond pistons they have too much taper in the piston skirts, go with Ross racing pistons they are the best in IMO for less rock and better ring seal using our Rottler CNC diamond honing machine.
I use to take a sharp punch and dimple around the intake ports. The edges around them raise up and helps hold the gasket in place, but ive been experimenting and cutting a groove like you would for some really small stainless or piano but leave it hollow. Theory is It allows that section not to compress and seems to help lock it in place.
You could also send your pistons out to line to line coatings and have them coat the piston skirts, it wears off in the first warm up and fits to the bore perfectly. Then you change the oil. Just another option you could take. Think Steve Morris’ son used it on his sbf when he had too much clearance.
7:53 you guys are lucky man that your pops is so cool, my dad passed away in 07 when some punk was airborne around a corner and before my dad had any chance of reacting smashed into him. I lived down the road and got a call and ran down there prob a mile and he was stuck in his caravan and they wouldn't or couldn't let him out. He finally was taken out and they strapped him to the Gurnee and he was yelling and saying to me tell them mike that their hurting me even more then I hurt! I'll never forget those words. He was in rough shape with everything from his pelvis to feet broken and that was Christmas day, he passed new years. Sorry for the long comment its just that your pops reminds me of mine. We rebuilt many engines together, some in the crazy heat and others in the freezing cold of our garage...either way I'd never take for granted a parents love.
Right hand drive cars are a trip to drive. Especially a standard shift car. I had the pleasure of driving a right hand drive car a couple times. Way back in the 80's i was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. My girlfriend there had a little shoebox of a car (everyone there has small vehicles). It was a blast to drive. It was extremely difficult to shift with your left hand. Good times none the less.
Next weekend we are doing the same thing in Sallisaw OK. Friends bought the old track there and plan to bring it back to its best life. Would be awesome if you guys were able to show up i'm sure with your supporters they could get a decent crowd and be on the way to getting a timing system and get the little outlaw track back on it's feet. Love the content as always. ~Ricky Napper
I lived in Japan(Tokyo embassy) for two years. It was the early 90's after I had left Iraq. All these car clubs were starting this "drifting racing" in these huge parking garages. I didn't have a tuner, couldn't bring my hot rod self to it. It was pretty impressive to watch them doing 80mph sideways thru those garages....
Shop foreman small child im telling ya that small child makes me smile every time I see him. That is one sharp looking supra looking forward to seeing it up and running. Thanks for the entertainment God bless and as always be safe.
There was a similar gm color in 1994 called radar blue. I had it mixed for a show truck with 52 grams of 9 different blue pearls in a purple base to make it change more and kill the purple a little bit. I’ve always loved that color.
I'd be looking real hard at that intake to head matchup. You know the original gasket was not sealing fully. Milled wrong? And with as much oil as the engine is bleeding out it needed to come apart anyway. Good luck this weekend.
Also that is really cool that yall are going to Kanawha Valley to race, right on the Kanawha River. My mom was born in Charleston, WV....as a kid I spent many vacations playing out there by that river. It's gorgeous down there. Cant wait to see the video footage
Just a tip, the chain is not supposed to come out of the engine hoist like that. It’s supposed to go up into the slot on the arm so that it doesn’t tear that boxtube
Have you considered honing the block and doing new rings but getting the current pistons Line-2-Line coated? It could speed up getting the engine back together / save some cost, and extend the life of the engine another rebuild or two by not having to bore the sleeves out to the next size right now.
@@POSminiracer that would be my choice but after Rob put Bills life in danger with the caliper and spindle deal I don’t know. That’s not a mistake, that’s stupidity!
Hey Billy! Wish you guys luck this weekend👍🏻. Hope you get the motor figured out for the Nova it is bad ass. As always stay safe. Oh the Supra is killer😀😀
Dude, Ill try and be there to watch you race. That track is literally 20 minutes from me. Hell yeah brother!!!! Its was called Kanawha Valley Dragway. I actually won 1st place there on a Banshee with an average of 72 mph. Lol
Great episode Do a solid ( no water engine ) need more piston to wall clearance ? I think some info off some other engine builders that deal with solid stuff might be worth a call
There has been cases where the oil came from tiny cracks in the head. How it was found with engine off. l prime the oil pump while valve covers off and just watch for a leak. Also watch at the rocker studs.
Love the video and all of the family youtube channels. Love Jimmy Dale and his channel, glad he made a other appearance with you fellers. Keep on keeping on my friends!!
I hope you run the Nova motor on the dyno. It would be interesting to see oil pressure after a simulation of a complete rub. One with recommended oil volume , or even a half quart low, and then the same run with 11 quarts in the pan., or whatever you run now. Hope the trip to Bob's puts an end to the hybrid motor you had st the last race.
The problem with your oil leak is that your head gaskets are so thick you lost the geometry between the heads the block and the intake it does not aligned
I agree with pops on the music deal, especially me being a guitar player! Only rap crap I like is some old Too Short, get in where you fit in album, that's pretty cool sht.
Please check the head again. I had the same problem. It ended up being the guy ported the heads too far and had a little hole in the oil galley. It took me 3 months to figure it out. Put your scope in there and check it out.
I had valvecover leak right to my header gaskets and suck the oil into header from header gaskets leak and smoke, glad it was just that instead of a ring broke
Race programs that are successful put all hands on deck on 1 or 2 Cars max love your guys content just seems like you had it going on back in the day when it was just the one s10 that you had all your focus on og watcher from the beginning of this channel hope things come around for you guys
Hopefully the sealant-less intake fasteners are the issue(one would presume), and this thing can get a decent season in with minimal problems. Can't wait to see the Nova making rips again.
With the oil pump, I would think that once the pump is inventoried with oil that it will take up the slack that you feel when you rock the drive gear back and forth.
Hell yeah always gonna stick it out with yall bin here from the start gonna stay till the end. Can't wait till my brother gets his exhaust figured out so we can start bringing his s10 to the track. Keep on keeping on

I wonder if the valley is filling full of oil and not draining back down to the pan. With those new intake gaskets already saturated it makes a feller wonder
I wonder if you have a valve stem out of tolerance(stretched, bent, ect)or damaged/leaking valve seal/guide. They tend to smoke worse as they get hot as well 🤷🏻♂️

And at the same time. Billy announced that he does not care for others that run his vehicles. All makes sense and comes full circle!
I dare anyone to try to keep from smiling when you see little man crackin' a grin!

Should check out getting line to line coatings on those used pistons, Steve morris has been using them with success.
Kevin Smith at KSR is using that and he also said some top fuel teams use that also, it cuts down on friction.
Little man kickin' and making engine vrooms! So cute. Good lord sent him to the right family for sure! 🚦💨💨🏁
Lookit the foot work. He already knows how to pop a clutch pedal.

A smoke machine they use for emissions leaks would be helpful for finding your top end oil leaks

Oil scraper rings or valve guide seals. My best guess is oil scraper ring due to how much it smokes.
