Billy u should install an oil pan heater in and plug that in it will bake the moisture out of the oil. It will help make the oil last longer and keep it healthier between rounds. Just a suggestion

STRIPES don't know if you have ever done it, but we always spray down the surface with window cleaner then set the sticker on that now you can scoot it around or lift it back up then squeegee flat, you will never mess up a sticker up again.

Glad to see things working out well for ya guys. A few scares but nobody hurt and no car hurt. Tanner seems to be really finding his groove with ya guys. That new Hammer in the Nova sure sounds stout. You can hear that thing moving some serious air.

Having an oil contamination issue is gonna be imperative with that motor, I had to run two things to get mine to stay clean for more than 2 passes..,!! GET A CLEAR VIEW HOUSING!! Trust me, sometimes you hate it cuz its so easy to see metal, or contamination, but trust me its worth the $800 bucks!! A TT BB making that much power needs a pan/oil block heater on your pan.. Heating the oil will help evaporate the fuel and clear up that oil, those two things work in conjunction to guarantee good oil at a glance.. Some guys would just do the heating and separation at home and re-use the oil again and change more often., but the pan heater worked great for me..

Last time I'll say it gentlemen...Stop, and put each car on a lift drivers, nut and bolt each car yourselves, each car you will be diving inside and out, break out the torque wrenches (both inch and lb.), check every nut, every bolt, every electric/electronic connection, every suspension part, engine part accessible, everything you can at least once if not 3 times. It can save your lives, will definitely save your cars, and save those final rounds you have been missing. Then go grab those win checks and trophies!
If making oil go through the filter raises the oil pressure up 40lbs,, I throw those filters away! Yes running a higher oil pressure and volume, you should run a stronger oil filter bypass spring or delete the bypass. The oil bypass should have nothing to do with engine oil pressure. There isn’t any place in the part of the oiling system to bleed off pressure. I be checking pressure bypass in the pump. Maybe aeration of the oil. That’s if all bearings clearances are good including cam bearings. And pan to sump clearance.

The filter bypass should just be bypassing the oil from going through the filter, it should not drop oil pressure. If the filter was clogged it would prevent starvation, but with a aftermarket pump that flows more it should be plugged so it doesn’t get stuck open rendering your filter useless.
you may be having a issue with the oil pump pressure bypass sticking open. I hope you test it a bit more because I truly believe that cannot be the cause of your oil pressure dropping off.
55 definitely gonna break into the 8’s real soon. That 5.84 is a 9.08 by the math for the quarter
I have always plugged the bypass on all my motors. Tap it to pipe plug thread and run a pipe plug in them. Glad you got it figured out.

The bypass does not relieve pressure out of the oil galleries it only bypasses the filter back to the oil galley under pressure Should not have any effect on oil pressure drop. Hope you guys get it figured out.

Billy, buy a few extra filters to take to the races with you sir, at 102-110 psi look at your filter and ck for ballooning brother, see 1 do it, change it immediately. I used grade 60 oil in my 63 Polara 440 for a few years back in the early 80's because it was worn out after thousands of passes, still strong, just worn bearings (both rod and crank bearings), and it had crazy high pressure 90-110 in the lights, and occasionally a filter would begin to Ballon. It's OK, but if they do, change that filter, replace a qt, and race again, but do not leave it to budget further, it will burst at the seam.

The oil filter bypass doesn't bleed pressure. It just will skip the filter.

Super duty pro mod vacuum pump is what I’d run Billy. You’ll no longer have issues with milky oil. Plus you’ll have better ring sealing which = faster ET.
