I really loved the TV show Stranger Things, and that's what inspired this case mod. The P400 is an awesome case to work on, full metal and a very sleek design. I plan on building an actual PC inside this case and custom watercooling it, so stay tuned for part 2! I've never done a custom watercooling loop before so hopefully it turns out awesome. I'll leave a list of all the tools and materials I used to create this mod down below, so if you want to use any of the modding methods I showcased in the video you'll know what you need. Thanks for watching!

I've been looking for so long for custom PC idea's so I can refresh aan old case for my daughter and this is the most inspirational video I found! Good job, I love it!
Glad it was useful to ya :)
Really nice build. Makes me want to add some holes to the front of my case!
Yup, this guy makes it look easy!
Same :D
instaBlaster...
Watched this video for the 4th time. :) I forgot to say that the upside-down representation you did on the right side panel is a touch of genius. :) Bravo!
Nice choice of music. Cloudkicker is great! Sweet case too!
I was looking at this same model earlier and when you said you were using the P400 I didn't believe you because it looked completely different. This is amazing.
+Serpathy Thanks dude :)
Really nice build, you're getting better so fast man ! Good luck for the watercooling loop and the sleeving ! Custom cables are not hard to do, but very time consuming ^^
This is your best video yet! I like how you explain each step rather than just a time lapse. Looking forward to doing my own case mod real soon!
Top ! Very good job Dietec. Mine is white and good idea for the front panel fans airflow ! I will open it 😊
That front design and adding that mesh there is just awesome.
You have developed your skills drastically in the past few months. Keep up the great work. As always, can't wait to see some watercooling ;).
Dude sponsored by V1tech? Heck ya! Awesome for you, and can’t imagine a better sponsor for your channel. Congrats!
+Budget Benchmarks Yeah I'm pumped! Hassan is a great guy.
Dietec probably thought “this guy is gonna put us out of business! If you can’t beat em, join em.” I’m just kidding. Perfect channel to sponsor in case some of your viewers don’t have the resources to make it themselves. They have great products and a very reasonable price! Love those guys!
Your work gets better with each new PR. Keep it up.
Looks killer man! Just received my dark rock pro 4, and did a test fit in the p400, and it fits with a little room to spare. Seems phanteks specs are off a bit if anyone is interested. P400 specs says 160mm CPU cooler height, but the drp4 measures 162.8, but it fits fine guys. Looks awesome as well! Have a good night man!
the front of the case turned out real nice. keep up the good work. I'm learning alot from you
That case really looks good! Great idea using the letter holder for the mesh. It won't keep out much dust, but it looks great.
Now that's a case mod.
Not sure if anyone gives a damn but I just hacked my friends Instagram password by using Instaplekt. Find it on google xD
I was waiting for this video. Very nice work. The front panel holes are mandatory for this case. I purchased it and got a +8C on motherboard, cpu and gpu, when compared with my previous case, which had an unrestricted (meshed) front panel with same fans as intake and exhaust.
Corummo Yeah, phanteks definitely goes for aesthetics over all else. Good thing dremels exist
fantastic job, cant wait to see the final build of this!
It's finished and the videos already out :)
Dude you rock the mods with plexi!!! Convinced me to start using it!!!!
+WeThePeople HaveSpoken Modders best friend :)
as always great mod, great video, very clear explanations, and the mod theme its very cool, I love the side panel picture... good luck with the hard line water cooling loop, I hope to see it in the next video!.. great work!, cheers my friend!
love your work mate you have come a long way the finished product looks awesome. Keep it up mate.
This is the most underrated video ive ever seen. Awesome video!
very motivating to watch your videos!!! Keep up the good work @dietec keep the channel growing!
+Comeoutroll11 Vidz Yeah man! Gonna keep doing my thing for a looooong time
Woohoo! Good job on the mod man! Looking forward to your build! Gotta watch Stranger things now
Yes, why are you on RUclips right now if you haven't watched it yet!?
You are a genius!Excellent work mate!
What would be REALLY nice is putting 2 RGB strips behind the front panel so they shine through the mesh intake holes.
Dietech-- Man you're still awesome! I'm tellin ya- the fact alone that you've got over 5k views & have ZERO dislikes is a solid showing of the quality content you are consistently producing. I'm so glad to see you still at it, & hope to see you eventually get the Gold Play Button that I believe you're worthy of! Ima go now before I cause your ego to give you a brain swell, lol
Holy cow look at that, I didn't even notice. I definitely am getting better at production value as I do more of these videos, maybe one day I will have one of those play buttons :)
Not gonna lie, it is kind of a dream I never thought could happen. But at this rate in 10 years it'll happen!! Lol
Naw man, allz it takes is the right people and the right video. Then one day, outta the wild blue, you'll have 100k. I honestly believe if you just keep doin what you're doing, the rest will take care of itself. You've already made a nice channel for us, and more of us will notice
I know I'm kinda late to the party, but just discovered this and it blew my mind, very nice job, keep up the good work dude
Super late to the video, but thanks for the great walk-through. I've been struggling a little with the lack of air flow in the front and was wondering what other people have done. I was thinking about cutting the angled sides of the front panel out and putting mesh in the same way you did. Really helpful to see someone else do almost exactly what I plan to. Thanks!
This is kinda inspiring, great edit :)
Very nice again. Love seeing your work.
Nice build, looking forward to the water cooling.
Wow. Nice paint job!
Absolutely sick, love the idea for the mesh part
Absolutely brilliant, I am in awe. Great work sir!
great work...looking forward to seeing you conquer water cooling and cable sleeving although i hear say that cable sleeving will leave your hands a mess...maybe a light on the inside of the case which resembles the upside down
I was thinking it would be cool to do some kind of effect like how there's always little floating pieces in the upside down places. Not sure how I'd get stuff to float in my case though lol
Dietec it would have to be a lighting effect like a hidden miniature glitter ball or something similar not sure how to implement it to move in the directions you want it to go though, maybe even an LED side screen with the flakes floating on that instead
Maybe something like a disco ball
I’m working on a Stranger Things pc myself. I might incorporate some of your techniques. Great video! Cheers.
Man that is a great mod 👍 looks so clean :D.
Shame we've all now gotta wait for season 3 of stranger things :(
Good work! I've been waiting for this video.
great job as always. I am redoing my build currently. my strix gpu waterblock just came in. its time to start. good luck with yours.
Thanks man and the same to you!
Amazing work my man, subbed.
Fantastic mod! Your work makes me want to do something to my computer. Just not sure what.
I really like your work. Never ever considered trying moding before I found your channel. Going for a white, black and silver themed case. Any suggestions like painting the io shield black or something simple like that.
You're the best modder. It's amazing.
THE KING OF THE GENIUS IS BACK
I'm blushing
I think it would be really cool if someone could make a ST case mod that has an upside down style, with fake vines everywhere and that atmospheric blue led light.
You already deserve a like for the music used alone :) great work👍
The best pc mod I've ever seen
nice design. It should entry PC Palis Collection if it exist.
Really nice, thanks for sharing in the CableModders Group :)
Looks great man nice job
Not sure if you remember, but could you let me know which paint did you use for the black layer?
The gray paint used in the video is a general purpose paint, and from what I found the enamel paint seem to have a darker shade then general purpose paint.
Also the link to the amazon page is for glossy paint.
This guy needs way more subs!!!
Thinking about modding a P400S (tempered Glass, White) like u did with the PSU Cover and then spray the 4 extra "HDD holders" plastic covers white to then move onto probably doing something to the front due to it's plain and a bit boring looks. Although I have never ever worked with acrylic and therefor lack the tools and knowledge, how much would you take for making on of those with a simple design? Or help me to get everything right and what the cost would be... Thx hopefully u see this //A beginner whom would like to get a taste of modding.
luv it again... if i chance to send you, my case or our company cases, definetely I will use this chance... my new fav video , thank you...
Like that case.. great job 👍👍
This is awesome!!!! Good stuff bro!
Hey!!! my buddy will be seeing you about his in-win case.
+L.A. Emert :)
Great job! Well done!
so im buying this case used and its the red version. would I be able to remove the power supply cover, the red intake at the front and paint them another color? Also what is the tool you use to cut out the front panel?
Great job as always
That was a pretty awesome build! I had a doubt! I have the P400s windowed version can i drill holes in the case frame and fit a Tempered Glass in its place?
GREAT IDEA! Best show ever...
Awesome job!!
I have no clue regarding ST...but i have to say that this would be my favorite of your mods so far. Awesome color theme. Would you know of anywhere that i could send off a design to get it vinyl cut and shipped to OZ?
Gosh, I dunno man! Sorry. Glad you like the mod :)
Is there an cheap way to get these kind of Vinyl Stickers ? :) and really nice mod like allways !
Which dye should I use for dyeing the acrylic plates?
That looks awesome!
Nice mod! I've been waiting for this for a while. How could you do the cutom vinyl without a vinyl cutter?
+DrDiamond You'd have to just cut it out by hand with a razor blade. Trace a picture onto the vinyl with a pen and follow the pen lines with your blade :P
cam you show us how to make those custom stickers
This is kinda unrelated to the build, but have you ever done hydrodipping? It's a really cool technique, I've actually done my phone case using spray paint as a cheap alternative to the real stuff.
No I've never done that, I'll look it up
Did the front panel design provide enough air flow to overcome what's essentially an oven? :) I am looking to mod and love this design pattern approach as opposed to just cutting a large square and covering with mesh.
Did you test temps with front panel completely removed vs your design?
Would be really interested to know!
thanks.
I didn't test before and after or anything but the temps were just fine
what grit sandpaper did you use to scuff up the surface?
Muy buen trabajo, con poca intervención cambió mucho. 👍
Rafael Suazo jaja, unico tipo hablando español aca...
Can i ask sir what kind of print u used to transfer that sticker .. ? Pls rep
What kind paper also
+Ejay Ouano Linked it in the description :)
As a fan of the series 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
That looks amazing
Was thinking of doing the acrylic shroud rgb cover but i was just wondering how the rgbs were powered and how hard the the project would be for a beginner case mod.
+Malakai Navarro Check the description, I linked the wires required to hook it up to a molex connection on your PSU. Doing what I did here wouldn't be too hard, watch my newer backplate video to see a more detailed version of creating these backlit acrylic plates
Dietec thank you! Fast replies are great. You earned a new subscriber!
+Malakai Navarro Welcome to the channel :)
nice buddy your the best soon i biuld my own pc mod
What grit for sand paper sir?
why not use diffuser?
Nice work
Olá
What blade do you use to cut the cabinet?
Hey! I just cut the psu shroud and it came out nice but I was wondering if you painted over the silver of the cut out in some spots because at 4:45 I can’t see any silver at all?!
Oh yeah I painted over it with black paint after cutting :)
Dietec okay! Thank you so much for your help. I really do appreciate it!
Nice job. Love your channel. Can you tell me what kind of vinyl you use for stencils. Is it permanent? I had an issue where I could not pull the vinyl off once the paint dried. Made a mess. Help?
Yeah it's permanent, I've never had that problem so I'm not sure! Maybe try prying it off with a razor, that's how I do it
Thanks !!!
What cutting wheel was that? I don't see it in the description, thanks man, came out real nice.
The Dremel? It's just a generic metal cutting wheel. If you just search for metal cutting wheel I'm sure you'll find something equivalent
Thanks man
Just a question, what would you use to cut through the plastic front panel on the Define C from fractal? Just a dremel or would you suggest using something else?
Edgar Wagt I use a scroll saw for that. Dremel would probably work too though
thanks mate!
So cause I watched your fan controller video I was like: yeah let's watch another video and i clicked this one and I'm like holy fu.. 10k views and 0 dislikes! Never seen that before on any channel 😂. Btw the case looks dope!
Konrad Eysn Holy crap I didn't even realize. That is pretty cool. Welcome to the channel :)
Dietec Thx m8 :) I'm really looking forward to seeing your future mods! What I've seen till now is pretty dope! :D
Simple and awesome
How big was the opening you cut for the led panel
Don't remember! Lol
Hi Dietec does it gaves more cases than one on v1tech because i only found one and the Case isn't realy beautyful
They mostly do mods, not cases
is that sandpaper you scrub with to take out the initial black coating?
Yep!
@@DIYTechTube may I know what kind of sandpaper did you use? And what sandpaper to use first? Thanks
UGh neeed my fix of that Dietec modding oooooooo!!!
how much did your temps drop after cutting those holes?
im thinking of doing the same for my p400s
Not sure, didn't test! Temps look great looking at them now though, I'm just not sure what they were before.
I know it is a dumb question, but any idea as to how can I create those sticky stencils you used to spray paint over? I have literally no idea how you created them and I want to mod my Phanteks P300. Any tips would be great. I'm going after a R6 Siege theme. So I wanted to spray over a Rainbow 6 Logo on the topic right corner of the side panel. But I don't know how to create that stencil sort of thing with the sticky sheet you used. Any help would be appreciated. Noob here. 😅
I have a video about it, the silhouette portrait is the tool I use to make them
@@DIYTechTube I looked it over, but the machine is too costly. Thanks for letting me know about it. I'll check out the video. I'll look for any alternatives. Great videos by the way. Love the NZXT 500 Lord Tachanka Mod. Keep up the good work. 😬
How much it costs? I wanna buy it
Dietec can I use a bandsaw to cut my plexi glass I see you use a scroll saw
Yeah it'll work!
What font did you use for the Hawkins logo?
Dunno, whatever they used in the actual show. I just googled it
And btw, did you ever check out Modstek? Another greatly undervalued RUclipsr
+UrDaddy WingNut I'm subscribed to him :)
SWEETNESS!! I know you guys are on different pages with him restoring old stuff n modding em up, and you take new things n mod em up-- but at the core, you 2 MOD EM UP. I think the 2 channels kinda compliment each other
Hi, I love your modded PC cases. I thinking about own PC case design like Corsair Carbide 400c, but with inverted motherboard place and different dimensions.
looks nice
