This story was so weird to me. How did it take months for his family to start questioning all the weird stuff and him just randomly walking away from his life
Because chris was an adventurer liked to travel. So shin took advantage of that and his e mails as chris seemmed to be true. That gave him time to cover his trail s and the body. So a crime scene without body and weapon gives the defendant a fighting chance at the court. Even to this day the killer builds his own defense to that. No body , no weapon, it was an accident. Thats why he even now that he got life sentence does not tell anyone where the body is. Gives him a last fighting chance. The mails seemed to be true to his family , they thought Chris left to travel so the killer got time to hide all the trails
Maybe he had a history of doing things like that. People can't admit it when their family members go missing after doing this for shorter periods previously.

It’s universal, and it’s not pertaining to skin color.
