My take on Aerith's theme being more upbeat in Smash is that while the original is sad to reflect her death, the remix feels more like celebrating her life
And to celebrate the inclusion into Smash of the one who murdered her! :D I haven't played any Final Fantasy game, but including Aerith's theme with Sephiroth feels like a cruel joke.
Yep, it really annoys me when some people get genuinely upset by this kind of stuff. I saw lots of people hating on the midnas lament remix for the same reason. And even a bit on the beneath the mask remix. Saying “this completely undermines the point of the song!” Or something like that. Like guys... you know the point of smash remixes is to take some iconic songs and make them more upbeat to fit in the context of a fighting game, right? It’s not devs missing the point of the original, it’s you guys missing the point of a remix.
Kazuya's tone with his trailer is because thats in line with the character in game. It's why you may have noticed sephiroth wasn't treated very silly. Kazuya is a very intimidating and methodical person. Half his endings involve chilling murder attempts. It's all about tension.
I think sephiroth having such diverse attacks to reflect a boss fight with several different attacks being thrown out that you need to adapt to (also one wing is not a resource that sephiroth's kit revolves around it's sephiroth keeping the match fair holding back until he wants to even things up and also it's literally a boss fight second phase)
I know he said that he wouldnt talk about the spirits that came with the fighter, but I think its worth mentioning that the artwork for the Pneuma spirit that came with the Pyra and Mythra dlc pack was created specifically for smash as a spirit. Prior to the dlc pack there had not been any official artwork for the character and i think its cool that they had the artists create a special piece just for smash.
Similar case for Sans’s Mii Costume, actually. Toby Fox (The creator of Undertale) and Sakurai are good friends, and Toby beat Sakurai in a match, leading to Toby asking Sakurai if he could add Sans as a Mii Costume.
12:31 Correction, the battle tracks don’t come from Bedrock Edition. They came from the legacy edition before it, which is the version that started on Xbox 360 and made its way onto other consoles.
Xbox is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft owned Bedrock edition. I do not know what you mean by legacy edition, so if you have any articles to direct me to that would be appreciated.
@@flyinggyrados4591 let me explain, since i have two of said legacy versions. basically, the versions are (if i remember correctly): wii, ps3, new nintendo 3ds (not sure), switch for like 3 months, xbox 360 and xbox one. all of these were before the bedrock update, when none were cross platform (x360 and xOne are the only "exceptions"). basically, when 1.13 rolled around, i think that's when microsoft bought the rights to minecraft, then made bedrock edition, a complete code rewrite to """fix""" mojang's spaghetti code. oh yeah, and cross platform. in these editions, there were minigames, being battle, tumble, and glide. and java was left untouched, even though they also ported bedrock to windows 10, so two minecrafts on one system.
Sephiroth getting his wing also takes into account stocks or score. If youre at 1 stock vs 3 you get wing way earlier bc of it. And if you get a kill then you still maintain it for a bit. Its just more specific rather than just damage
Your experience with Steve’s reveal was very similar to how I felt when Kazuya was revealed. Me and my brother played a ton of Tekken 3 in the arcades back in the day. While Kazuya wasn’t in that game, it’s more so the thought of the series getting proper representation in Smash outside of a taunt and Mii Costume.
I agree more about this fighter pass opinion than the 1st one. However I believe you were really harsh about Sephiroth. His moveset is slow but powerful (as a boss). His boss rush classic mode is awesome and the music maybe was late, but really worth it. Sephiroth DLC is easily a 8/10.
Sephiroth was great, trailer was fantastic, stage was alright, character is god tier, music selection slaps and felt like the definitive final fantasy addition.
Seriously this dude spits on the pack because of something akin to childish pettiness it was a wonderful pack and good choice for those who've never played final fantasy
Sora needed his counter, because it’s one of his essential unlockable skills in the series. I don’t know what else would’ve made sense in his down B slot. He’s one of the few characters I can think of who has a “smash style counter” in his original game, considering Melee introduced them for FE characters, when they never really did that at all.
Yeah but it loses it’s charm and uniqueness when many other characters already do the same thing, it’s completely useless against projectiles because it doesn’t knock it back to the opponent, not to mention in a game where “Everyone is Here” it’s just makes him feel rushed and a glorified FE Character and I’m a big Kingdom Hearts Fan too.
Remember Sora’s Magic Taunts? They knew what they were doing teasing us with those but here’s a concept I wanted to share incorporating those into his moveset. If Sora’s Magic Taunts were counters: ⏰Stop; Hitting Sora while doing "stop counter" animation will pretty much stop foe from moving. Stop time duration depends on damage % 🍀Heal; The Heal move itself alone would recover a measly amount of 8% or something. If a foe hits Sora while in animation, Leaf Bracer activates and thus renders him immune/gives super armor and actually heals more (half of damage dealt?) 🌪️Aero; Move alone grants Sora a small defense boost, but if hit while activating, wind box pushes foes back and Sora gets a defense boost that has some slight wind boxes while having a windshield that damages the foe upon contact. Ta-dah!!
@@brandonwilliams6119 i mean. TBH. As a Kingdom Hearts fan. Its true that because its another “Usual Counter” you see it in a way that is bad and completely Un-unique and not Charming. But its works differently. And besides. Aero, and Time will feel like smuggling Items or combining Items with Special mechanics. And thats actually ok since your presentation of them seemed balanced. But i wish Sora could have gotten more Work. He actually does feel slightly rushed with some of his Kit not even being From KH1 at all, and doesn’t work like it did in that entry in the series. I think the counter can be unique since it works differently, and is pretty well balanced.
@@brandonwilliams6119 I always thought of Sora's taunt spells as working similar to how they did in KH1. Although Stopga would act sort of like Mythra's Foresight, but also as a counter hit just so it's not broken. Curaga would heal for like 1.8% because it would literally be a free heal. And Aeroga would behave like a weaker version Shulk's Shield Art, again since it'd be free. It would definitely help with his floatiness.
Fighters Pass 2 was a great way for the Smash team to round out the roster for Ultimate, it felt like each character deserved their spot from being relevant to the Switch’s titles that didn’t line up perfectly with Ultimates base game development like Min-Min and Pyra/Mythra, and some long deserved third parties like Steve and Sora who have been some of the most requested fighters. Because of this though, this pass feels less crazy due to its inclusions feeling more like givens, and more so a nice final stretch for Ultimate to close out feeling like a truly complete game. We also get a bunch of crazy move sets and play styles which is cool too, even if many feel like you need to study before trying out the character.
There's a perfectly valid reason why Simple and Clean isn't in Smash, and it's the same reason why Sanctuary, Face My Fears, and Don't Think Twice aren't in either. Square Enix doesn't own those songs. Yes, they're in KH games, but they're not KH songs. They're Utada Hikaru songs. As I'm sure you know, Utada Hikaru is a very famous musical artist, and as such, she's signed to a record label. Those labels pretty much have control over the rights to those songs, meaning that not only would Nintendo have to deal with Square Enix and Disney, but they'd ALSO have to deal with a big record label, who are notoriously greedy and controlling. It's easier to just not include those songs than have to deal with more companies. I'm sure there's some weird agreement with using the songs in actual KH games, since we get some of them in Melody of Memory, but Smash is a completely separate game.
Overall i respect your opinion other than the big fixation of sephiroth and the music, to take away points because those songs should have been added with cloud isn't really a valid take, i don't really understand how a dlc characters from the last game should affect what sephiroth brought in ultimate
Yeah, that takes were pretty dumb. Like the onenhe said "its like taking away all zelda characters and adding only BotW ones" dude, they didnt took away no one to include sephiroth, that take doesnt even make sense
@@justanothersilentprotagoni9139 the analogy doesn’t make sense no matter how you look at it, it’s completely different even though it was literally made up to help his point it still sucks
@@chair803 eh to each their own. even if it didn't make sense doing such that of just going for the most popular thing at the moment makes less sense when cloud should have had more than 2 songs from the start so seeing mr one wing just bring stuff that cloud should have is just off putting in a sense. just have cloud bring the music seph brought and then if kefka or terra happened then we have far more variety.
I personally rly enjoyed Min Min’s inclusion in Smash. I understand why a lot of people were let down by it, but I think giving it a lower score than Byleth is a bit ridiculous to be honest. Min Min inclusion brought upon a completely new series to Smash, and definitely had more effort and care put into her compared to Byleth. Of course, I can understand if you just enjoyed Byleth’s inclusion more, but objectively speaking I think Min Min at least brought in a lot that the Smash series hadn’t seen at that point compared to Byleth.
In terms of additional content, Min Min is definitely better. That being said, having the worst character design in the game versus just a bland swordie is a big distinction, it means a lot for the value of the pack, so I don’t think that’s a particularly objective take.
@@DBE_TheZek I see what you mean, but I think character design is too subjective to be this big of a consideration. For example, most competitive players agree that Little Mac is terribly designed, but there’s still millions of casual fans who like him just the way he is. And Steve is even campier than Min Min, but Pjiggles didn’t take off any points from him in his ranking. Of course, disliking a pack more due to horrible competitive design is completely valid, but it’s still an opinion at the end of the day. Things like how much a pack provides in terms of visual and gameplay diversity, on the other hand, can be directly measured in numbers.
As someone who never played Arms and loved FE: Three Houses...I agree with you 100%. According to this guy, adding a new series to Smash with a unique character is somehow WORSE than adding an 8th character to a series that has had representation in Smash since 2001. What. The. Fuck. Is this guy smoking? His bias is mind-bogglingly annoying.
As Min Min main, I pretty much agree completely. Mostly the reason I play her is because my brain isn't exactly fast enough to remember the 10000 different combos that characters like C. Falcon, Fox, Kazuya, Pichu, and the Fire Emblem characters have. Having a character that is basic as hell just works for me.
The Dive to the Heart transformation technically does make a non-visual difference, although it only affects Steve. The "Material" of the platforms changes from Stone to Iron, if I remember correctly.
I wonder if the pack would actually have kept this order were Sora not possible. Sephiroth would have been the perfect sendoff in this case imo with his final boss status, and the special treatment he got with the Sephiroth Challenge, so I wonder if he could have taken Sora’s place as the final Smash Ultimate DLC. Sora is definitely the best choice, that’s for sure
@@Machination_24 Now i can't confirm, but i am pretty sure Sakurai confirmed that Kazuya was supposed to be last in an interview. Someone please correct if i'm wrong.
@@eelikuusniemi.3513 At the same time, how would you explain all of the 7 and 13 references? He was the 13th fighter in the DLC, the 7th in the second pass, and released in patch 13.0.0 it all seems like too much to be a coincidence
@@eelikuusniemi.3513 I've never heard of such an interview. It sounds like a baseless rumor, and Sora being in Smash is something they had planned since Smash 4.
I personally liked all of the DLCs this game offered a lot. Interestingly, the two I liked the most (Kazuya and Terry) were those I had the least history with (while I didn’t play FF7 or Banjo and Kazooie yet I had enough knowledge about the characters themselves to consider them or even root for their inclusion beyond "a Tekken rep would be neat"). These DLCs were what I wanted the most of these packs, new discoveries of gaming franchise I wasn’t familiar with that could with me over with fantastic soundtracks (they did, especially Kazuya). This is the spirit of Smash Bros for me, just like how Smash 4 introduced me to Xenoblade, Brawl introduced me to pretty much everything that wasn’t Mario, Sonic or Pokemon (I was 9) or even how Kingdom Hearts introduced me to TWEWY. Im extremely satisfied with the Fighters Pass, even with some shortcomings (like all of the Kingdom Hearts ost coming from the first game or the lack of remixes (or even songs at all) from the original Minecraft)
17:27 no it doesn’t. It only goes away if a certain number of damage is dealt or similar. Or if taking a stock moves the wing threshold above your current %. It is possible, however, to keep the wing after a KO.
Yeah, my sister mains Sephie and always seems to be able to keep the wing. Idk if its because I always play Cloud when she's Sephiroth, but it annoys the crap outta me when she gets to keep the wing, and I am doing my freaking best keeping up
You're right that it's not _guaranteed_ to go away after a kill, but the way the system works means that it almost always goes away either when you get a KO or pretty shortly afterward. The exact system is more complicated than I feel like describing in a comment, but the tl;dr is that you get a certain number of "points" when Winged Form activates, certain actions (like dealing damage or taking stocks) deplete your points, when they reach 0 it goes away, and getting a KO depletes a _lot_ of your points. (It has nothing to do with your current percentage when you get the KO.)
Steve’s scottish alternate (the one with the orange hair) hit so close to home with me when I saw it because it was one of the first skins that I wore when I started playing Minecraft on Xbox 360 back in the day. And if I’m going to be honest, Steve can be annoying. But the amount of work put behind his moveset and inclusion just brings a smile to me knowing that one of the games I grew up with is in Super Smash Bros. THAT I can’t be mad at!
I would have liked it if they added that one skin that makes him a PoC, it feels like microsoft is trying to make you forget about it because it's not even in the minecraft bedrock's "legacy skin collection" and it's not on smash either
Maybe Im coping, but I actually love it when a song ends its loop in Smash, and goes dead silent for several seconds. It makes the fight feel way more intense for that breif blip.
I share the same feelings as PJiggles for Steve in Smash, I was insanely overjoyed when he was revealed, in my opinion Steve in Smash shares the spot for the most important and insane addition to Smash ever alongside Snake, Sonic and Sora I guess all of us Minecraft fans can be called "Cringe" together, but they'll never take away our Steve from the game and our happiness Edit: Isn't it kinda funny that these 4 crazy 3rd party characters all start with the letter S
So happy he was added to smash but he very much so had the sora or banjo effect I HATE playing as him or fighting him. He is genuinely my least favorite character to fight
To this day I still wish I was home 2 minutes earlier this day to see the announcment from the start and not the victory animation that spoiled me the entire reveal I was still overjoyed enough to have nausea and now everytime I see his blocky head I want to play him despite sucking at it. I love Steve in smash, especially the fact he has his og beard and not that stupid mouth
Sephiroth being rated low because "It should have come with Cloud" seems dumb to me. Yes, of course it should have come with Cloud, but that Square left Smash devoid of content twice in a row, it should be commended that Sakurai went out of his way to continue negotiations for FF7 content and make that game feel truly represented. If Sephiroth did not come to smash, Cloud would still be left with 2 music tracks, one alright stage, and 2 music tracks. Sephiroth should be celebrated for being almost a middle finger to Cloud's original poor representation, not belittled for taking his time to do so.
Honestly! Besides him having Zidane, Tidus and Squall up as alternates made me scratch my head bc why would they pick them and not the two most recognizable characters from the FF series
@@Pancakejae There’re plenty more options. I mean, there’s also Luneth, Cecil, Locke, Terra, and The Black Mage, and those are just the protags of the ones I’ve played.
@@tylercoon1791 but as someone who is unfamiliar with FF, would folks recognize them? Probably not, but anyone who has been on the internet in the 2000s would recognize Cloud and Sephiroth. Cloud and Sephiroth drummed up a lot of hype and excitement for Smash, so why would they pick a less recognized rep from a far less well-known game, when they could pick the most iconic video game villain of all time?
@@PhantomPhoenix105 I think there’s a bit of fault in that logic. Eould anyone not familiar with ARMS recognize Min Min? Eould anyone not familiar with Tekken recognize Kazuya? Would anyone not familiar with Xenoblade recognize Pyra and Mythra? And if we’re talking iconicity, I’d argue that The Black Mage is just as, if not more culturally pervasive
Great video, but I do have one gripe with it and that's when you talked about Sephiroth's one winged angel form. It makes sense why it would disappear after you kill, it's strictly designed to be a comeback mechanic, not a instantly win the game mechanic. Imagine if once Sephiroth got the form he would never lose it until HE dies, it would be broken, so it's pretty understandable why they would make it disappear after getting a kill.
I wish we had gotten more music with Cloud, and I agree that it’s dumb that we didn’t, but I was HYPED that we got more with Sephiroth. One-Winged Angel is the best song for final showdowns.
12:50 I’d like to point out that these aren’t internet theories, in the Sakurai Presents Steve video, Sakurai says that they couldn’t get the tracks from the original game. He justifies it with saying that the music would be too relaxing, but that’s not the reason.
I disagree that the FF DLC was only 7 BECAUSE its the most popular. Square has historically been super super stingy with what they let Nintendo do, its why Cloud's spirit was always just an image of his model from the game and not an cool standalone image like every other spirit in the game. I'd bet that the smash team were only able to get the rights to one game's characters and stuff, maybe they could have gotten someone from another game that wasnt 7 like cloud, but if they did then the stage and music were gonna have to be from there too. I think Sepheroth was the choice because hes so popular, but I think the stage and music werent picked for the same reason, I think SE just wouldnt give the rights to anything else so it was kinda a package deal.
The only thing I'm sad about with Steve's inclusion is that they didn't add The Four Horsemen. The Four Horsemen is straight up Doom music. That would fit in so well with Smash and I'm not sure why they didn't add it.
A character I have forever wanted just to see what they would do with it and how they would is Phoenix Wright. It sounds so silly and that is exactly why, I am so curious how they would turn nerd boy lawyer into a smash character, plus there are some obvious stage ideas and some REALLY good songs in ace attorney. Alt costumes would work well, and they could slip in a lot of references to the game with his move set, an idea I’ve always had is his free fall animation is him curling into a ball since he’s afraid of heights.
@@AlphaOblivion7 yeah, I’d expect at least some spirits of Phoenix and some of the other characters like Mia, edgeworth, von karma and godot (he’d be a spirit you evolve from Diego Armando to godot)
That rant about FFVII overshadowing the rest of FF clicked so much with me man It's really how Super Star just has so much more presence in this game than the rest of Kirby's history Also I loved Cloud Sea of Alrest a ton, it gives me vibes of the way more calm casual stages in Melee like Great Bay or Peach's Castle, so seeing more stages like those is always a treat after the mess Brawl and 4 were lol Video well worth the wait
@@kirbyofthestarsfan Square enix said that they had no intention of remaking Final Fantasy 7, the only reason why they did it is because the FF 7 fanbase can be a little irritating. So Square were obligated to grant their wish. Square also confirmed that remaking 7 was not easy.
Thats how I felt with Sephiroth. Like, don’t get me wrong, I love FF7 and Sephiroth’s a great villain but I think maybe some representation of the other games like 6 and 9 would be great, maybe have like a Terra or Vivi spirit. Put Dancing Mad or the FF9 Battle theme in the song lost. Small things like that.
I actually disagree with your minmin take. You showed a clip of a tournament match with her and you can immediately see so many interesting interactions, the minmin player constantly has to be on their toes to stop the opponent from getting in and it creates a super tense game of spacing and movement and callouts.
@@brachialtick6539 It's not the game that's boring to look at, it's one specific fighter out of 80 others who was designed to be played as. Every fighting game has someone who's fun to play and boring to watch, so that's not a problem
Honestly, I couldn't be happier with most of the DLC we got. As a B-K, DQ, KoF, FE, XC, and FF fan, I was very happy with most of the characters (especially Banjo & Kazooie and Terry, my some of my favorite gaming icons). The only ones I am indifferent to are Joker, Min Min, Steve, Kazuya, and Sora, but even then I find them to be fun additions as well and respect their places in the roster.
I love hollow bastion as a stage due to it both being my fav location in the series and the location is one that's appeared in every KH game until KH3D always with some plot significance. It's the second to last area in the first game, continues that role in recoded and re:chain, acts as the mid point where all the friends meet up again in BBS and is major in KH2 as the location where the battle against 1000 heartless happens and is one you visit three times instead of 2 like most worlds in KH2.
Spring Stadium is so friggin fun, but I can see how you could dislike the stuff that goes on in it. I think the ceilings are funny tech options and the jump pads are pretty neat. The stage is equal for each person, no one really gets an advantage and it adds even more when playing with items!
I remember staying up till about 1 am to see sephiroths smash trailer live in the game awards, and when I originally saw it I was disappointed as heck, Now sephiroth is my main (has been for like a year) and I love the character and game ff7 funny has smash bros can do these things :)
@@ABC-ik9vj As someone who has never played ff7 and didn’t know who Sephiroth was before his reveal I agree with you. It gave me the same feeling for when Joker was revealed because I never was it coming.
The trailer itself was hype and rlly well animated seeing hero in a non hero trailer aswell as banjo was rlly cool but the reveal itself of sephiroth wasnt that hype for me cos I kept getting disappointed by the characters and I felt that is was another chance taken away from a character I wanted getting in by another anime swords character Now I cringe at my reaction to it bc I got the character and found him rlly fun to play and then I played ff7 and loved him even more, He became my best character and my main, Now I love sephiroth as a character and regard him as one of my favourite villains in gaming, thats just the magic of smash bros :)
So when it came to sora as it has been revealed during an interview it turns out that disney didn't mind having sora in smash bros and actually did want him in as well as Square Enix the one who was actually stingy Tetsuya Nomura since he was stingy on how sora would be portrayed in smash which you can see with the music in particular.
I think that Min Min's pack was probably closer to a 7/10 for me. I understand the visual cohesion that all of punches have which makes them blend together, and how that can be disappointing, but it's not like a character with lesser options like the belmonts where she's just going to be doing the same variation of those moves over and over. I'd liken it more to a character that has a really really good nair or grounded move that can feasibly play neutral for them; you're going to be seeing it a LOT, but it doesn't make what the player does any less impressive. I also just really like Min Min's design, and while I don't play her often, I am a fan of characters that let me completely shutdown somebody's approach. All in all a really solid pick. Okay so the ARMS stage is a controversial opinion but I absolutely love it. The bounce pads are fun to use in a casual match, I really really like how it looks visually, and the music from ARMS is like a solid 9/10 across the board. Overall, I was super super hyped for when min min was announced, and I still really like what the pack has to offer, but I can understand disliking the character and her playstyle. It's not perfect, I'd say, but I still really liked it. Though maybe I'm just a dummy because I'd rate the steve pack pretty low, one of my least favorite dlc packs outside of maaaaybe byleth.
@@Kyara7 I don't like the way steve plays or playing against steve or watching steve, I don't like the stage and I don't like the music. It's pretty simple
I'm sooo glad one other person on this planet likes min min to at least some degree, thank you so much dude. Also no, your not a dummy, Steve's pack is pretty bad
Us 12 ARMS fans have to stick together - I also ranked her 7/10. Overall I think Lola would've made a more fun addition but since coulrophobia is a big thing in the US I can see why she wasn't the biggest candidate.
@@zakseed1312 The problem with Steve’s pack is that it relies so much on shock value. As in, the character himself. Is it funny and hype that Steve got in? Yes. I never personally cared that much about it but I did have some degree of hype for him, as he was the only character besides Banjo that I had even heard of. But that’s it. His stage, while okay, is just that, okay, and nothing special. He also doesn’t have the greatest selection of music on the roster. Only seven songs is a tough pill to swallow. I feel like this extends even to his trailer. If that trailer was given to any other character, it would’ve been probably regarded as only “decent” by most people. TL;DR - Steve’s pack isn’t bad, but is massively overrated due to the single variable of the character
That story about Steve’s reveal is pretty much exactly what my situation was. Always wanting him smash, but not admitting it. Only difference is that my brother spoiled the reveal itself for me RIGHT BEFORE I WAS GOING TO WATCH IT 🤦🏽♂️
So glad with kazuyas rating, I dreamed of having a tekken character in smash for ages and then when I finally got an awesome character from my favourite fighting game franchise(beside smash) When i saw that trailer live at e3 I was soo hype and was bouncing off the walls with excitement and happiness and then the character game with an AWESOME stage (with heihachi), AWESOME music (the remixes tho) and an absolutely AWESOME character with fun mechanics and playstyle overall I loved this pack
Even though Heihachi should have been the one joining, I was happy for Kazuya because he finally got some love. Out of all Mishimas, he's the one with least cameos... Exactly why Ninten is my most wanted fighter, the need of love
And if you really don't like playing Kazuya or the stage (ain't no way you don't like at least two songs given), buying this basically gives you a new boss fight, as well as combo's straight from the Smash Gods.
@@SamuelJohnsonYT bullshit. If that was the problem then he wouldn't have been a Mii in Smash 4 to begin with. Neither Raiden would have appeared as Spirit or Dante as Mii Being guest on another game means crap: Snake (on a Smash clone from Melee, way before Brawl), Pac-Man, Ken, Mega Man, Cloud, Sephiroth, freaking Ryu are in Smash and they all appeared in other fighting games before Smash
Here is the thing about Square Enix and music, Square doesn't fully own the music of their games, copyright is divided between the company, the composers and whoever else is concerned about the soundtracks, that's why Cloud only gets two songs and Hero didn't get his orchestral arrangements because the composer forced Nintendo to use MIDI. Smash players are always making these uninformed piss takes and i didn't expect you to fall for the same mistakes.
I strongly disagree with Sephirtoh, I understand that it took them a long time to do something, a lot, but, the very fact that they were able to do so much is incredible. The musical selection is incredible, the stage is very pleasant to play and you can see the work behind it, in the end you are taking away points for what is not there and for shortcomings of Cloud that are not related to this pass, it seems that you are looking for excuses to bother with how this inclusion is and the points are invalid and weak, the amount of positive aspects seem not to matter at all On the other hand, I do not understand at all how it is that Pyra and Mythra have a 7, the character is double, but they only have 3 different movements from each other, which I do not consider enough to be worth a point in itself, the stage sucks, with poorly worked textures in both the cameos and the tree, apart from having very bad musical remixes, but still has a 7/10? In my opinion it is a loose pass that does not exceed 4/10 And honestly it bothers me a little bit that music is suddenly such a valid point when judging Sora, unlike with Pyra and Mythra.
Honestly sephiroth’s inclusion seems to have the most love and care put into it, except for Terry. Complaining about only ff7 representation is really dumb in my opinion considering that final fantasy has always had a huge identity problem between games and focusing on only one for smash makes a lot more sense then adding, say, tracks from a different ff game that have a completely different musical motif. Also ff7’s motif is incredibly unique and iconic, and honestly deserves to be way more represented than the other ff music. I would have liked if the chocobo theme and main ff theme were added to smash, but both of those songs are in ff7 anyways so pjiggles would probably still complain that there is only ff7 music in smash if they were added
Pjiggle's Sephiroth rant felt like an FF fan getting greedy, the most popular game of the franchise finally gets the representation it deserves and gets offended all these other games from this massive megafranchise don't get a slice of the pie.

Music is a valid point when judging Sora since he was the final one, it was really lame to close it off like that lol Also Seph's music problem stems from compensating something Square was holding back to begin with, so it's an artificial solution to something that shouldn't have been a problem to begin with Also he's right to be mad on the fact the only thing Smash represented was FF7, lots of bangers from the other games Square could have attempted to include too
As a Xenoblade fan I shake, also COMPLETELY agree about everything you said. counterattack was especially disappointing for me. Dont worry nintendo, its only the most impactful song in the whole game of Xenoblade 2 no worries.
"Couldn't take (Kingdom Hearts) the franchise seriously"... dude, not even the creator truly does, it's just a fun series with strong characters and really goofy moments. Also Really good bossfights, which goes along with the good characters.
by the way, they did not miss with Fighters Pass 2 imo. I loved every single character addition, even if i wasn’t specifically asking for Pyra and Mythra.
I don't think people applauded Square for putting in their songs 5 years late, buy that they actually thanked Sakurai's team for finally getting trough Square's thick skulls and bringing the songs in
They probably went with Mishima Dojo over Infinite Azure because they needed to factor in the fact that people would be playing on it as a character other than Kazuya. Since the floor on Infinite Azure is walkable water, they would have had to factor in the fact that some characters (Sonic, Charizard, Inkling, etc) take damage when in water.
It would also lag the game a lot and if you didn’t know, fountain of dreams (Kirby’s fountain like stage) is banned because it slows down the game from reflections
I like how you have unique tastes but I like how you relatably understand their nuances within the game. It adds variety with no hostility and proper context to your thinking and I appreciate it. I myself largely dislike Steve but I was able to appreciate him in a better light now. So cool!!
Honestly I agree with Sora except I actually love playing him. I find him super fun. But God damn the music and that small annoyance with his stage something I absolutely agree.
Honestly, I think all the DLC packs for the game are great, I found all the characters fun and stages really great, besides Banjo on both fronts. I didn't want any of these characters in the game before their reveals but Sephiroth and Terry are just so damn fun that they're my favourites to play as and some characters I love on general now.
Thank you so much for talking about Steve positively. Geno and Steve were my most wanted characters too, and I love watching top level Steve. I think he’s a very cool character, even if I can’t really play as him at all. I don’t understand why people don’t like watching him competitively.
While it would've been cool having a rep from a different Final Fantasy, I think Sephiroth was a better choice purely to continue the tradition of Smash liking to have the hero *and* the villain from a series when possible. I think adding Cloud's rival to fight against does more for the game and makes more sense than throwing in someone from a different game; it's like how everyone always wanted K. Rool and Ridley in even though *they* could've been replaced with reps from new games.
Although for the cases with King K. Rool and Ridley, there weren't too many other choices from newer games to add. Remember that Metroid Dread released after Ultimate's DLC was over, so adding a character like Ravenbeak would have been impractical. Final Fantasy has numerous games with different protagonists and antagonists, but I also vastly prefer Sephiroth since he is one of the most iconic characters in the series next to Cloud.
34:38, I mean that cutscene of Kazuya and Heihachi trashing the Jack units and "Heihachi Mishima is dead." is probably the single most iconic cutscene in the entire franchise.
I feel you, brother. Being indifferent to Sora is a rough task since suddenly everyone seems to have played Kingdom Hearts. I, personally, I'm very disappointed this is the last character and I'm not afraid to say it.
31:24 did you know, that fighters pass 2 only originally had 5 packs? Sora was finalized later than everyone else, and if Sora wasn't making it, they would've just ended on Kazuya and called it a day.
12:30 the battle mini game is actually from the "Legacy Console Edition" of Minecraft, the one made for XBOX 360 and ONE, Playstation 3 and 4, and Nintendo WiiU and Switch (the switch version later got replaced by bedrock edition on the eshop)
My quick best thoughts on every character: Joker and his his pack was the best aesthetically. Hero is the most fun and wacky to play. Banjo and Kazooie are the 2nd most hype characters to release. Terry was the best character to get started on fighter-style characters. Byleth was the best twist on the standard swordfighter class (besides Robin). Min min had the most unique moveset change relative to everyone else, with her controlling her arms with two different buttons. Steve was the most deserved and the most faithful to his source game. Sephiroth had the most powerful reveal and the most interesting implementation out of everyone. Pyra and Mythra had the most varying synergy out of others. Kazuya had the most amount of moves in Smash with plenty of ways to fight. Sora was probably the best way to end the fighter’s pass as the hardest and most wanted character to get in.
Always enjoy the work you do on your videos. For someone who hasn't played that many video games, I appreciate being able to learn about the references.
I'm really glad that Leo plays byleth since without that, I'd have completely forgotten about their inclusion, but seeing Leo pilot them competitively gave me a much greater appreciation of their weird gameplay
I love Byleth's playstyle the most out of FP1. He's definitely got the most "basic" kit out of the DLC, but that in itself ironically makes him feel pretty fresh to play as. No gimmicks, no clunky mechanics, no command inputs, just a solid fighter that lets you play fundies.
I played Byleth before Leo, mostly because I thought the moveset looked cool, looked pretty good, unique without being ridiculous, and also out of spite because of the internet hate. I didn't even have an attachment to the character before hand, I just didn't like a character I thought was cool get so much hate. And when Leo started playing them later, I felt extremely satisfied seeing the general consensus on the character take a complete 180.
I was expecting the generic rhetoric of “first party bad, third party good” but your points were very fair in regards to Min Min and Pyra/Mythra. I respect how you didn’t let your bias against games like XC2 get in the way of anything. As a massive XC2 fan, your point about the World Tree on their stage is actually very true. It wasn’t something I had noticed before
I think you rating the music only by caring about the remix tracks is unfair. A lot of the music in these packs don't need to be remixed, man. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." You just went through why Counterattack is probably one of the worst remixed tracks in Smash, and I wholeheartedly agree. They should've just brought in the original. So, I know it's just the way you decided to rate the music, but I respectfully disagree with it. The music selection for Pythra's pack was definitely not disappointing imo. It's one of the best ones and added even more music to Xenoblade music library. If only they could've added some XCX music though.
Mistake in the minecraft segment: BEDROCK DIDN'T HAVE A BATTLE MINI-GAME. That was from the console edition, and I'm really happy they still remembered it. The console editions are not bedrock, because all the console editions were made by a different studio for those specific consoles. They aren't updated anymore, as everyone just gets bedrock edition now.
It would be great if they added “My Last Stand” from Tekken 8. But to be fair that game was made after even the release of Sora. Also, they could’ve really added Jin Kazama as an Echo Fighter and Riku for Sora’s Echo Fighter
Gotta disagree with the mishima dojo, it’s not only the most important arena in the lore but by far the most recognizable; as someone who doesn’t play tekken I immediately recognized the stage instead of some body of water that tbh doesn’t really scream “tekken” if you haven’t played the games
i’m surprised you pointed out the bad mixing on Counterattack’s remix, considering the Three Houses main theme has almost just as bad mixing and balancing
Ok now hear me out, if I were ranking the DLC packs, i’d also take a look at the mii costumes that released alongside them. Unironically, the best part about byleth releasing for me was the rabbid mii hat. As a guy who’s first Wii game was rayman raving rabbids, it was surreal seeing that in the game (even though there are already rabbid spirits and junk already too). I didn’t like byleth as a character either, but considering that single stupid hat is so funny to me, I’d bump up that pack by 1 point
I honestly think the connection to Steve is pretty cool since I don't have that for any of the characters. I would say Sonic would've been it for me but Brawl was already out by the time I could remember.
Hey, it’s okay. Steve was my most wanted too, and I scared the piss out of my grandparents with my reaction back when I saw the reveal for him… Still one of the happiest days of my life… i still get goosebumps and tear up a little everytime I listen to Halland/Dallarna… Funnily enough, he wasn’t my most wanted of all time, (well, I mean, it was one of them) but it was actually Red from Angry Birds… yea… I knew how unrealistic (but still kinda possible if you think about it) that was, so I just defaulted to Steve.
Actually I think it's sephiroth wing is based off damage. I asked my brother who mains seph why he F-smashes me instead of giga flare when I get shied broken and he said it's so he can keep his wing for longer since it's based off damage.
The wing's only factors are how much damage Sephiroth has relative to stock advantage (70% if stocks below the opponent, 100% if equal stocks, 130% if stocks above your opponent) to make it appear, and it goes away if one or the other die. I don't get what your brother thinks about the wing.
tell him he's wrong, its based around advantage, if you 1 stock and your opponent has 3, do any attack you want, when your opponent get to 1 stock the wing will go away
And to no one's surprise, Terry still is the best DLC for Smash. I say that in every discussion about the topic and I fully believe in it, it's just impecable
With Pyra/Mythra, a little surprised that no comparison was made with how shiek and zelda used to be prior to smash 4 as I think thats what the Aegis girls were meant to pay homage to. I’d give them and 8/10 but the stage drags them down a notch as there could have been a few locales to choose instead of something rather limiting. I can think of other stage ideas that could be better for xenoblade 2 like Cliff of morytha with artifice ophion as a hazard, the soaring roastrum from torna with artifices fighting in the background, lefteria with alternating mini titan platforms or some location in Tantal. Granted we’d lose out on Azurda’s commentary but I’d probably take losing that for a more interesting stage than something that’s frankly way too small for a fight with more than 2 players.
the pack blows. the character is an annoying cringe dumpster fire, (in smash at least I haven't played the game) the stage is very mediocre, and the remixes suck so much
Maybe the Land of Morytha? Idk if it would be considered a spoiler but considering Sephiroth’s stage literally shows the ending of FF7 (at least from my understanding), it would be fine. Considering how literally broken the Land of Morytha is, possibilities for the stage’s design would be endless
Knowing how spoiler-happy Sakurai is, I would have gone with the Architect's room and have it warp to iconic areas on several titans similar to Pokemon Stadium
I dont really think Pyra snd Mythra are paying homage to shiek and zelda more so that was the only character before that had a similar idea. Switching between two one being faster and weaker and the other being slower snd stronger. Obviously Pyra and Mythra capture that much better making both useful compared to prior where sheik was always better. I'm actually of the opinion that their stage is really good. It's honestly one of my personal favorites. I dont mind the layout being simpler and find the size decent enough for up to 3 or 4 players still a little on the small size but good enough. I appreciate that it has a gimmick that can influence the fight without interrupting it via gramps moving his head and neck. And more than anything, I think its one of if not the best option to showing the world of 2. More than any one single location or titan. The stage we got better showcases two of the most defining aspects of xenoblade 2's world. The cloud sea and the titans.
Pyra and Mythra’s switching mechanic is not “paying homage” to Sheik and Zelda. You can switch seamlessly in XBC2 with no cooldown. It’s just a mechanic they brought over since it makes sense lore wise if you’ve played the game.
oh my god, i remembered being in class on the day when steve was annoucned. i was in the zoom call, camera off and i was in a discord call with a few friends, we were joking about who's in and stuff and when steve just... appeared, i tried to keep my excitement and to prevent myself from crying of joy because he's finally here. it was my first time feeling happiness of that level in my life and it's a memory that i'll never forget.
Hollow bastion actually changes depending if you have hazards on or off. Do you remember how in smash 4, all final fantasy stages were different? That's the case here too.
Min Min's back is not a 1. The remixes are small but 17 tracks us still a ton. Also the stage is pretty good and the character, while boring, is extremely different from the rest of the cast. It's not worst than Byleth.
Hey, I was acknowledged! Now to find the other 11 ARMS fans. As for least favourite pack? That's actually really hard. Probably Kazuya I guess, as it was so late into the DLC and not surprising
Of the Fighter's Pass Vol. 2 characters, my favorites are Sephiroth, Pyra/Mythra, and Sora. Their respective stages are some of my favorite stages. But my favorite stage in Vol. 2 is definitely Mishima Dojo. As for Min Min, Steve, and Kazuya, don't really have much to say about any of them. But Min Min is probably my least favorite of the three. As for Min Min's and Steve's stages, their just alright, I do enjoy both of them, but not as much as the others.
31:38 everyone always complains about how kazuya’s trailer wasn’t this big bombastic thing like all the others, but I think the fact that you have to describe that kind of trailer as “the kind all the others have” should tell you why they didn’t do that. It worked on me, I thought kazuya’s trailer was one of the best because the low tone of it said to me that this is a guy that doesn’t need all of your fanfare, he’s already badass enough on his own. It feels like a song that goes behind some focused, calculated destruction. It’s a song that knows that the fight is more important, so it quiets down to make way while still setting a tone. Chef’s kiss.

My take on Aerith's theme being more upbeat in Smash is that while the original is sad to reflect her death, the remix feels more like celebrating her life
And to celebrate the inclusion into Smash of the one who murdered her! :D
I haven't played any Final Fantasy game, but including Aerith's theme with Sephiroth feels like a cruel joke.
like a funeral vs. a
...well a celebration of life
Yep, it really annoys me when some people get genuinely upset by this kind of stuff.
Isn't the original just drawn from Celes's theme though? And Celes doesn't die.
Rip bozo aerith
Kazuya's tone with his trailer is because thats in line with the character in game. It's why you may have noticed sephiroth wasn't treated very silly. Kazuya is a very intimidating and methodical person. Half his endings involve chilling murder attempts. It's all about tension.
But it still had sprinkles of silly humor, just like in Tekken!
I think sephiroth having such diverse attacks to reflect a boss fight with several different attacks being thrown out that you need to adapt to
(also one wing is not a resource that sephiroth's kit revolves around it's sephiroth keeping the match fair holding back until he wants to even things up and also it's literally a boss fight second phase)
I was the 100th like
damn 100 likes for me being slightly disgruntled about a random person's opinion on the final fantasy
Yeah sephiroth is a 9/10 for me and Steve and kazuya
Surprisingly, Disney was perfectly fine with Sora's inclusion and we all thought they were the big hurdle
They saw money of course
Even if Goofy and Donald don't appear, it's crazy seeing the Mickey Mouse ears and Disney in the game's credits

It did come from a sketch in the artbook but it was never finished
I absolutely love the fact that the whole reason Kazuya got in is because Masahiro Sakurai and Katsuhiro Harada are best friends, it's so wholesome
Thanks God for bringing me this knowledge!

They came from the legacy edition before it, which is the version that started on Xbox 360 and made its way onto other consoles.
i was just about to comment this!
Xbox is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft owned Bedrock edition. I do not know what you mean by legacy edition, so if you have any articles to direct me to that would be appreciated.
@@flyinggyrados4591 Minecraft console legacy predates bedrock but was later discontinued after the release of bedrock
🤓
Sephiroth getting his wing also takes into account stocks or score. If youre at 1 stock vs 3 you get wing way earlier bc of it. And if you get a kill then you still maintain it for a bit. Its just more specific rather than just damage
I kind of want to know how hard it was to program.
That’s awesome, question though. If you could have another Tekken character though, who would it be?
@@Marchers46Jin absolutely

I agree more about this fighter pass opinion than the 1st one. However I believe you were really harsh about Sephiroth. His moveset is slow but powerful (as a boss). His boss rush classic mode is awesome and the music maybe was late, but really worth it. Sephiroth DLC is easily a 8/10.

Sephiroth was great, trailer was fantastic, stage was alright, character is god tier, music selection slaps and felt like the definitive final fantasy addition.
And they also gave Cloud a new final smash and added his original artwork as a spirit!!!
He also has the best reveal trailer
Best character in the game by awesome additions standards. Still mid tier at best in competitive though
Sephiroth, the one winged angel who traumatised so much people vs the funny blocky man is incredibly random and I love it
Seriously this dude spits on the pack because of something akin to childish pettiness it was a wonderful pack and good choice for those who've never played final fantasy
If Sora’s Magic Taunts were counters:
⏰Stop; Hitting Sora while doing "stop counter" animation will pretty much stop foe from moving. Stop time duration depends on damage %
🍀Heal; The Heal move itself alone would recover a measly amount of 8% or something. If a foe hits Sora while in animation, Leaf Bracer activates and thus renders him immune/gives super armor and actually heals more (half of damage dealt?)
🌪️Aero; Move alone grants Sora a small defense boost, but if hit while activating, wind box pushes foes back and Sora gets a defense boost that has some slight wind boxes while having a windshield that damages the foe upon contact.
Ta-dah!!
@@brandonwilliams6119 those taunts are way too op to implement them as moves.

Of course, I can understand if you just enjoyed Byleth’s inclusion more, but objectively speaking I think Min Min at least brought in a lot that the Smash series hadn’t seen at that point compared to Byleth.
i have to agree tbh. byleths mechanic felt so much more lacking than min mins and youre totally right that she brought more new stuff in
In terms of additional content, Min Min is definitely better.
It doesn't. He addressed this misconception in an earlier video.
It's actually baffling to me, that Kazuya WAS supposed to be the final character, and then they suddenly got the rights to do Sora.

@@eelikuusniemi.3513 I've never heard of such an interview. It sounds like a baseless rumor, and Sora being in Smash is something they had planned since Smash 4.

Always a pleasure to meet a fellow Legacy Console Edition enjoyer.
I wanted to see good ole Tuxedo Steve come back but I was happy with the alts lol although I wish it was just more Steve over Alex
Aww, that's awesome ^^ Thanks for sharing!
@@SonicAdventureEnjoyer If only Steve had 16 alts like in Smash 4. But hey, I'll take half of a tuxedo than no tuxedo!
Yeah but the version of Heat haze Shadow in Smash is way too short :/ I too wouldn't mind the mute seconds if only they put the full song
I share the same feelings as PJiggles for Steve in Smash, I was insanely overjoyed when he was revealed, in my opinion Steve in Smash shares the spot for the most important and insane addition to Smash ever alongside Snake, Sonic and Sora
I guess all of us Minecraft fans can be called "Cringe" together, but they'll never take away our Steve from the game and our happiness
Edit: Isn't it kinda funny that these 4 crazy 3rd party characters all start with the letter S

So happy he was added to smash but he very much so had the sora or banjo effect I HATE playing as him or fighting him. He is genuinely my least favorite character to fight
To this day I still wish I was home 2 minutes earlier this day to see the announcment from the start and not the victory animation that spoiled me the entire reveal
I was still overjoyed enough to have nausea and now everytime I see his blocky head I want to play him despite sucking at it.
I love Steve in smash, especially the fact he has his og beard and not that stupid mouth
hehe steve minecart go brrrrrrrrrrrr
It was honestly surreal when he was added. Like when technoblade died.
Yeah that was annoying to hear, what a bad take
@@Pancakejae There’re plenty more options.
Thinking about it, Sephiroth's pack was the real FF7, considering the very poor amount of content that it had.
@@Pon-PonG9 glitch
Me too pal, maybe next game. Praying for that
It's not silly. In fact, it's really weird that Ace Attorney hasn't been represented in Smash in any way
@@AlphaOblivion7 yeah, I’d expect at least some spirits of Phoenix and some of the other characters like Mia, edgeworth, von karma and godot (he’d be a spirit you evolve from Diego Armando to godot)
Hell, even a mii costume with phoenix’s outfit and hair and edgeworth’s with either the original or a sick remix of pursuit cornered
Have you heard of Marvel vs. Capcom 3? Phoenix is in that game and they did a pretty decent job adapting him to a fighting game.
That rant about FFVII overshadowing the rest of FF clicked so much with me man
It's really how Super Star just has so much more presence in this game than the rest of Kirby's history
Also I loved Cloud Sea of Alrest a ton, it gives me vibes of the way more calm casual stages in Melee like Great Bay or Peach's Castle, so seeing more stages like those is always a treat after the mess Brawl and 4 were lol

@@CaxsiaTheDood I don't think Dancing Mad would transfer well in Smash, It's too long and complicated. Works well for an RPG, but not Smash.

I actually disagree with your minmin take. You showed a clip of a tournament match with her and you can immediately see so many interesting interactions, the minmin player constantly has to be on their toes to stop the opponent from getting in and it creates a super tense game of spacing and movement and callouts.
I’m glad someone else disagrees with the MinMin take! Plus the MinMin was up against a fox so she definitely had to keep the fox at a distance
It's not boring to think about, arguably. It's boring to look at.
Guess we should be glad that Smash is a game and not a video platform then
@@DWN037 If your game is boring to look at, that is a problem.
What disappointed you specifically?
Lmao dissapointing? It was the hypiest trailer even for non ff7 fans
@@ABC-ik9vj As someone who has never played ff7 and didn’t know who Sephiroth was before his reveal I agree with you. It gave me the same feeling for when Joker was revealed because I never was it coming.
The trailer itself was hype and rlly well animated seeing hero in a non hero trailer aswell as banjo was rlly cool but the reveal itself of sephiroth wasnt that hype for me cos I kept getting disappointed by the characters and I felt that is was another chance taken away from a character I wanted getting in by another anime swords character
Now I cringe at my reaction to it bc I got the character and found him rlly fun to play and then I played ff7 and loved him even more, He became my best character and my main, Now I love sephiroth as a character and regard him as one of my favourite villains in gaming, thats just the magic of smash bros :)
Sephiroth in smash is what made me play FF7 and I’m glad. Also I main him too.
Which interview?
"I'm not a fan of playing defensively and slow"
Proceeds to love Banjo and Kazooie as well as Steve's playstyles
You can't just say that Steve was your second least favorite dlc without elaborating
Only difference is that my brother spoiled the reveal itself for me RIGHT BEFORE I WAS GOING TO WATCH IT 🤦🏽♂️
So glad with kazuyas rating, I dreamed of having a tekken character in smash for ages and then when I finally got an awesome character from my favourite fighting game franchise(beside smash)
When i saw that trailer live at e3 I was soo hype and was bouncing off the walls with excitement and happiness and then the character game with an AWESOME stage (with heihachi), AWESOME music (the remixes tho) and an absolutely AWESOME character with fun mechanics and playstyle overall I loved this pack

Being guest on another game means crap: Snake (on a Smash clone from Melee, way before Brawl), Pac-Man, Ken, Mega Man, Cloud, Sephiroth, freaking Ryu are in Smash and they all appeared in other fighting games before Smash
He hates Square, so he had to lie to hate them more
I strongly disagree with Sephirtoh, I understand that it took them a long time to do something, a lot, but, the very fact that they were able to do so much is incredible. The musical selection is incredible, the stage is very pleasant to play and you can see the work behind it, in the end you are taking away points for what is not there and for shortcomings of Cloud that are not related to this pass, it seems that you are looking for excuses to bother with how this inclusion is and the points are invalid and weak, the amount of positive aspects seem not to matter at all
On the other hand, I do not understand at all how it is that Pyra and Mythra have a 7, the character is double, but they only have 3 different movements from each other, which I do not consider enough to be worth a point in itself, the stage sucks, with poorly worked textures in both the cameos and the tree, apart from having very bad musical remixes, but still has a 7/10? In my opinion it is a loose pass that does not exceed 4/10
And honestly it bothers me a little bit that music is suddenly such a valid point when judging Sora, unlike with Pyra and Mythra.

Music is a valid point when judging Sora since he was the final one, it was really lame to close it off like that lol
Also Seph's music problem stems from compensating something Square was holding back to begin with, so it's an artificial solution to something that shouldn't have been a problem to begin with
Also he's right to be mad on the fact the only thing Smash represented was FF7, lots of bangers from the other games Square could have attempted to include too
His whole rant felt so corny and just overly judgmental
The Minecraft talk was really cool. I agree with your opinions on Steve as a character

"it's just a fun series with strong characters and really GOOFY moments" I see what you did there.
Goofy being the wisest of the main cast is hilarious to me
by the way, they did not miss with Fighters Pass 2 imo. I loved every single character addition, even if i wasn’t specifically asking for Pyra and Mythra.
Personally, the Arms character I'd have added was Helix, I think he's really unique and it would make a really fun translation to smash
That's what I would have wanted too but Min Min is Great
I don't think people applauded Square for putting in their songs 5 years late, buy that they actually thanked Sakurai's team for finally getting trough Square's thick skulls and bringing the songs in
They probably went with Mishima Dojo over Infinite Azure because they needed to factor in the fact that people would be playing on it as a character other than Kazuya.
The remix of "Counterattack" sounds like something out of _Team Sonic Racing_

Damn right when i see this stage i think of that scene it's so iconic

I'm really glad that Leo plays byleth since without that, I'd have completely forgotten about their inclusion, but seeing Leo pilot them competitively gave me a much greater appreciation of their weird gameplay
I played Byleth before it was cool

I think everything about examining Min-Min and the stage is, 'Interesting, but hella weird'
It would be great if they added “My Last Stand” from Tekken 8. But to be fair that game was made after even the release of Sora.
Also, they could’ve really added Jin Kazama as an Echo Fighter and Riku for Sora’s Echo Fighter

As a guy who’s first Wii game was rayman raving rabbids, it was surreal seeing that in the game (even though there are already rabbid spirits and junk already too). I didn’t like byleth as a character either, but considering that single stupid hat is so funny to me, I’d bump up that pack by 1 point
Except the costumes aren't included in the packs
I honestly think the connection to Steve is pretty cool since I don't have that for any of the characters. I would say Sonic would've been it for me but Brawl was already out by the time I could remember.
Hey, it’s okay. Steve was my most wanted too, and I scared the piss out of my grandparents with my reaction back when I saw the reveal for him…
Still one of the happiest days of my life… i still get goosebumps and tear up a little everytime I listen to Halland/Dallarna…
Funnily enough, he wasn’t my most wanted of all time, (well, I mean, it was one of them) but it was actually Red from Angry Birds… yea…
I knew how unrealistic (but still kinda possible if you think about it) that was, so I just defaulted to Steve.
This guy really said he doesn't like Sephiroth's comeback mechanic because *IT'S ACTUALLY BALANCED*
Seeing you love Kazuya brings me so much joy
Actually I think it's sephiroth wing is based off damage. I asked my brother who mains seph why he F-smashes me instead of giga flare when I get shied broken and he said it's so he can keep his wing for longer since it's based off damage.
It’s based off of both damage and stock advantage
I love this series! That's Pjiggles, also I main Steve
Really enjoy watching your vids! Keep up the good work!
In regards to Steve: “it’s funny to see Twitter complain” I couldn’t agree more 😆😆😆
Hollow bastion actually changes depending if you have hazards on or off. Do you remember how in smash 4, all final fantasy stages were different? That's the case here too.
I really would've loved to see Dante or Vergil in Smash. Maybe next Smash will add em.
Jiggles: Being absolutely negative about Sephiroth
Me, a Sephiroth main, and who finds all of it amazing: and I took that personally
Every year I catch up on his videos and it amazing
