- Welcome to DESIGN SEED, we will be sharing the story of the occupation of two remarkable restaurant owners and entrepreneurs and how their personality would picture their dream home.
The evocation of this project would always echo in my head, a perfect combination among the designer whom extols the honest use of materials and the bold venturesome of flipping layouts out from the conventional.
And of course, tasteful clients who value the journey of architecture and design exploration.
This episode is a collaboration between Design Seed & Atelier International and we hope to boost an awareness to the design scene.

I was working at Taman Desa a few years back, and would often saw the owner walking his dogs. Never knew the house is so marvelously designed. Amazing!

Just the kind of house that I would love to stay in 24/7. Love the vegetative elements in the house and the natural lights. Sacrificing the carporch for a nice indoor welcoming garden is just brilliant. Kudos. How I wish my home would be the same.

This house truly is a masterpiece, a well designed art which integrates the nature inside and out..this is a simple yet thorough transformation of a modern living environment fit to be called a home~
One of the best malaysian houses i have ever seen. The concrete stairs are magnificent.
This is my favourite home. From the indoor trees, huge skylights, different levels on the 2nd floor and the general feeling of being outside!
The stairs are genius with the sun filtering through them, they look so light and airy.
What a successful build, no wonder they don't want to leave home, I wouldn't either!
Never seen a staircase like that before...very unique design. I don't cook but i love large kitchen. Those fresh plants is a breath of fresh air plus the dog. Beautiful home 👍💕

I respected their work on the house when I realized the minimal artificial lighting. This shows that it was rebuilt with intention. The flavour humm the big brain, the power and the execution!!! Chef's kiss(pun intended)
Flipping the layout is genius as it makes sense in our tropical climate. Hot air rises, cold air sinks. Western castles of medieval times used this to their advantage and installed rooms on the higher floors, even lifted the beds up high above the floor to make the most of the hot air. In our climate, it makes sense to put the cooler, shadier bedrooms below. More eco-friendly too! Love this house, and love your content as always :D

I did visit Malaysia about 15 years ago as I wanted to see the Petronas Towers, which were amazing & well worth the visit.
If I ever get the opportunity to go again I will definitely try to find some of the properties you feature on his channel.

By far the best house to-date featured here. I’m blown away. But, im a bit sceptical having a glass at the rooftop as it may create heat due to the nature of the glass against sun itself. I would more appreciate if it can be explain in details or perhaps next video will features architect to explain on the out of norm design and their justification.

As a female, I simply would not feel safe, if I had to park on the streets.
Sadly, the chances of being robbed, or worse, is too high.
It is not uncommon for assailants to wait for victims to exit the car, then hold them at knifepoint, thereby gaining entry to the home.
What an amazing house! Someday I will create a house of my own that is similar to this one. Great job to the designers!

I was amazed by the staircase the moment I saw it and was happy that they explained how it was built. The whole house is really beautiful and I can imagine how nice it is to live there. I've been many times in Malaysia and I've seen really good architecture and interior design there. This house is a great example.
Agreed, I think Malaysians are more design orientated, more willing to experiment
the stair is like wood carving, fruit from intricate and tedious labour for no real functional detail but expression of artistic detail. but need careful of kids toe getting trapped and vermins living in the gap

Isn't it ironic "minimalist" renovations cost more than a normal renovation? The video doesn't cover the cost but other videos with similar renovations states that it would cost at least 300k if there's no major structural changes but can cost up to 700k-2mil if there is. What's the justification tho, even with the addition of another level and a courtyard, that cost can build a bungalow. At this price, might as well buy a link house or semi d with an existing courtyard and renovate from there. Also very ironic they call it "sustainable".

The simplicity/ functionality of this house is simply amazing.
This reminds me of the triple story in Singapore's architecture design that recently feature won for best design ( I think it was called the Kampong style modern housing)..
This is amazing! I’ve been looking for some idea of flipping the living room to second floor and keep bedroom at ground floor as my mom’s are not safe to climb stairs. This video give me a clear picture 😍 but i need the car park tho😅

Nice rustic design, red bricks, raw concrete ceilings n beautiful garden. Designer did a great job. Don't fancy d lines on d steps of d staircase though.... hard to clean d crevices n also not comfortable on d sole of d feet.

What is the cost of the renovation please? Love the greenery and the interior. All in all a good job by the architect.
Easily hit RM 350-400 per square feet. With lots of cast in situ concrete finish. Should check all Studio Bikin projects.They are top notch.
