    I recently put in the Purolator Boss filter. WOW. Amazing product it is.
    I have a 1986 Yugo GV with a 1.1 L, carburetor , high compression engine and always put 10w-40 Castrol GTX conventional oil . I always remembered their commercials on how they were engineered the oil for smaller engines like my car. Their works were always conceiving when you see the intense heat being build up on the combustion chambers and then they broke down. Did one amazing job getting the viewers attention that's for sure.
    Then I add the Purolator Boss filter to maximize engine protection, boost it's efficiency, extreme reliability in filtering, and the satisfaction rate on how it works.
    Got to say it was an excellent combination that I recommend for your older model high compression motors. It runs like it's off the dealerships parking lot.
    Thank you for sharing this video with us. It made me want to buy the BOSS filter and boy, I'm never going to buy anything else until Purolator outdoes itself on developing another advance version to succeed it.

    The first time i picked up one of the BOSS filters, it was like twice the weight of my factory filter, really heavy, no kidding.

    Wow, Purolator Boss oil filter with Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20, full synthetic motor oil is awesome in my 2015 crew cab Silverado 2015, 5.3 V8. Went on a 40 mile drive since the oil and filter change, and my miles per gallon kept climbing up to 20, even after doing city stop and go traffic driving! Great oil filter, from now on, I will use the Boss filter on every oil change, unless they manufacture an better oil filter!!!

      @@opera93 It's Awesome, Still, in city driving, it averages (18/20 mpg), and on highway driving, the best is 26 mpg.. The Boss Filters are a little expensive, but it's well worth the improved engine performance, and I change my oil and filter, when the indicator says 30%, never lower than that, Thanks for asking!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

      @@MrJamesgrate interestingly, just went to Boss @MOBIL 1 5W-30, in CANYON 2007 with 147 K…. DOING “ Italian TUNE UPs” now ( e.g. to alcohol Free Gas , with INJECTOR CLEANERS, ETC AS HAD SOME STUMBLES,ETC) .. also,interestingly think gas mileage improved on 91 OCT alcohol free, etc.

      @@opera93 That's great my friend, I am all for mileage improvements, even if i have to spend a few more pennies, i don't have any mods, or tunes on my silverado, although i thought of having and engine tune to increase the rpm's form 500 to 600 rpms, I simply used the process of elimination, I started first with the blood of the engine, I stopped going to the dealer for oil changes, and started doing it myself, using Pennzoil Platinum, and the Boss Oil Filter, everything just simply started improving, I still use 87 OCT, one day I might try some 89 in her, just to test it out, Thanks again my Friend, for your Info, Take care and Stay Blessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

      @@opera93 Pure dino gas has more energy in it than ethanol. To properly adjust to ethanol, there needs to be more fuel added. That's why ethanol fuel is a joke unless you need the other benefits like the "cool burning" qualities. The rule of thumb for old carbed engines was you need ~50% MORE fuel when switching from gasoline to pure alcohol. About 30% more when running E85 which is 85% ethanol. Corn gas is a joke brought out by money grabbing special interests. It pollutes MORE, is LESS efficient and wouldn't even be feasible if government didn't require it AND SUBSIDIZE it.

    The media is strong but does it filter and let the oil flow properly?

    I use Purolator filters only thing I don't like is the inlet holes are small and less of them vs even a factory oil filter. If they would inlarge the holes it would be a perfect filter

      Slowly pour some oil in, and twist the filter back and forth to work the oil into the filter media. Repeat as needed, but not so much to cause the oil to drain out during the filter installation.

    Emailed Purolator to ask about efficiency rating... no response. Called & asked same question... someone who clearly knows nothing said it's 40 - 99. I'm pretty sure (she) had no clue what she was telling me, but I assume it's 99% efficient at 40 micron. How about telling us the efficiency rating at 30, 20, 10, and 5 micron? I want to like this filter so bad, but the media is ... so bad.

      Go to Bob is the oil guy website forum, and vote for this filter to be tested in a ISO 4548-12 efficiency and capacity test comparison. A company called Ascent Filtration Testing might run a test on it for you if it gets enough votes.

    • @SlikLizrd
      @SlikLizrd 8 месяцев назад

      The SMART guys got rid of the wire-screen backing because it was too bulky - the new Polymer backing makes more room for more PLEATS of filter material -- and thus more filtering media area.
