I'm really glad you found it helpful! Good luck with your applications :) Please let me know if you have other questions or if I can help you in any other way!
Just a quick question! Do you like 藤沢? I know that there's 江ノ島 nearby, which is a touristy destination, especially during summer, but is there much to do? I know it's only 20 minutes by train to Yokohama, and a bit over an hour from Tokyo. I've heard from some people that it can get quite boring after a while. In the interview, you asked him about admissions to GIGA program; in case you're wondering, it's largely based off of two things: standardized tests (SAT scores, AP scores, and IB scores) and academic evaluation from foreign high school (grades). On top of that, we had to write essays and prepare an application video. Thank you again for the video!
Ooh thank you for the GIGA admissions info!! I hope that other people interested in the GIGA program who are reading the comments will find the information useful too :) In answer to your question, I personally thought that Fujisawa was a lovely naturesque area! When I checked with Chihiro (the SFC student in the video), she mentioned that Fujisawa is a really nice place with a quiet and beautiful ocean nearby. Prices are relatively cheaper compared to central Tokyo and Enoshima is really fun as well! Students living in Fujisawa also tend to hang out in Yokohama because you can get everything you need there. However, it is a bit far from Tokyo, so students who are really into finding internships in the city or going shopping tend to simply live in Yokohama because it's right in between school and Tokyo. She says that if you're the type of person who prefers the liveliness of the city, Fujisawa may not be the best place to live. So I think it ultimately depends on what you find fun :)
Absolutely! I'm glad I could provide an applicant's perspective. I'm glad you thought Fujisawa was nice! II think it'd be a nice area; parks and the like are a nice break from the bustling hub-bub of Tokyo. I don't need to be downtown in the city, but I definitely like having things to do; maybe I'll live in Yokohama. If I get in, I'll be scouting out apartments and places to live in August. Thank you so much for reaching out to Chihiro! I've subscribed to your channel!
