Would a real unpainted bare metal P38 have green chipping .?

Nope, it wouldn't. The wheel wells might, as they could be painted in Chromate before being painted grey or silver, but highly unlikely. They were using grey as a rust proofing in the first place due to running out of chromate.

there wouldn't have been any chipping on the aluminum, because they didn't paint most of the plane. It was bare metal to save time painting and it reduced weight and drag.

Nice build, but why then use markings for a late model P-38. Also F&G versions weren't used in natural metal.
