We'd love to hear your feedback on this first episode. Let us know if anything stood out, and what you'd like to see from the series in the future. For us, it was really interesting to get direct insights into Davide's dream of working with Nintendo and how much passion goes into making a game like Mario + Rabbids.
We have five episodes of Expert Mode planned, and each airs early on Facebook, by the way. You can find it at: facebook.com/ignexpertmode
Loved this. Do more of this. Spotlighting the creators like this is fantastic.
I loved it, it's great to see all the heart and hard-work it takes for a developer to create a game for us to enjoy. It's also super inspiring :')
Congratulations IGN and congratulations Davide, your game is amazing.
Loved it! I just finished the game yesterday & it feels so special. I love it when he says the reason he wanted to be a game designer in the first place is to make people happy, how he was affected by public reaction when the game was first leaked vs when it was showed at E3. It humanizes game development. Hopefully people will be more mindful when talking about games, there's so much hate out there.
IGN I hope Brian apologised for himself and for ign for the amount of disregard you all had towards the game and the crap that was talked about the game when you first heard about it.
now this is interesting content
To have your hero tell you that they are impressed with your work, has to be one of the greatest experiences anyone can have.
I did not expect this from an IGN video. Extreme quality content. I became really invested in his story, and I'm looking forward to buying his game. Great job!
I'm not a fan of this genre but I took a chance on this game because this guy was so passionate. And it's becoming one of my all time favorite games. And it's opened a genre I would never play in the past.
10/10
Mr.Logical Who says? You?
I got a bunch of 10/10 games
10/10 doesn't mean perfect FFS. Perfect isn't possible, so 10/10 means as close to perfect as a video game is possible to get. Rounded up, too. If it helps your brain to grasp this concept, then think of the scale as 1-11 instead, with 11 being perfect, but not attainable, so therefore not included in the scale at all.
Im holding back tears, this video is so powerful
nevermind I just cried
*W H O L E S O M E*
More like this please IGN.
ElWaster they will make more episodes, it's a new series.
I gathered, just leaving a positive comment :)
ElWaster they have an episode with Ieff Kaplan - Overwatch on their facebook account "Expert Mode" if you want to see it
I'll check it out - thank you
ElWaster Agree😄
Brian seriously might be my favorite person in the industry. Just so down to earth. Excellent interview.
Nintendo needs to get this guy behind another Mario and rabbids game bc I love every minute of playing it
ItsTbakes agreed, I can't wait for the sequel!
How did you know
How did You know x2
@@pinkspider28 only one year more
Wish Granted
Very inspiring.
Huh?
Seemed quite genuine to me
I think you hit in the head with his E3 moment. This man showed that, yeah, there's game developers that only care about the money and not make a good quality game but there are those developers that have passion and heart and they care deeply about the games they're working on. Any developer would be extremely honored to work with a legend like Miyamoto. This man's story is inspiring. Truly touching. I love this! Great job on the video, you guys. Can't wait to see more!
Wonderful feature. Davide has quickly become one of my favorite game designers and biggest inspirations. If he were to see this comment, I want him to know that his experience AND his game have made me smile many times already.
I would cry to if I got meet Miyamoto and work with him
musicmex im watching king of the hill rn
@@spicy4642 😂
This video was great. Almost teared up again watching the beginning. What a great story. We often forget there's real people making the games we love to play. More like this, IGN.
That E3 moment was truly touching. Davide seems like a cool guy. The game looks amazing, too! Good job!
It's such a good game. Incredibly cinematic during battles some times
This was fantastic. Glad to see Davide's game turned out to be great.
This was really beautiful!
I was crying too!
Heart: Warmed. Absolutely beautiful. Cheers to Brian, Davide, Miyamoto-san, and all of Nintendo and Ubisoft. These are the moments and experiences we never quite expect in the gaming landscape, and so, they are all the more special. Game on.
Love the passion radiating from Soliani. A true, deep seeded life-long love of video games. His drive to follow his dreams is inspiring.
Davide è un mito! Grandissimo, solo dei fans di Mario come te ed il resto del team potevano darci uno spin-off come questo! Bravi, bravi e bravi! ;)
IlGiroDeiMondiIn80Giochi Evviva l' Italia
That game developer is someone I could only describe as a real and good person. Made me remember that behind every film, game, comment, and art in this world, there is someone who cared enough to put effort into bringing that into the world. Also his reason to make games is why I want to become a game developer too and I believe all game developers should be like that as well.
I just love this type of videos. Thanks IGN for this work, from a gamer, and adult, a kid inside. Getting emotional but in a good way. "Quote: games make you epic".
Davide left me with no doubt in my mind that one of the little secrets to life is that passion inspires. It inspires both more passion and the people around you.
the game is amazing, it doesn't have anything to do with it, but it makes me feel like it is the paper Mario we will never get again and I've been waiting for, it just feels full of developer love.
What a beautiful interview ❤️ very inspiring. That game looks really fun! I can’t wait to finally get my Nintendo switch with the rabbids game and Mario Odyssey 😊
Much better than some shitty click bait top 10 list . On other words this was à heart warming video .
I loved this video. It was very inspiring and very powerful. He is a great person to do the first episode of this series with because from the moment i saw him at E3, i knew he was proud of and in love with what he created.
Wow what a beautiful guy and story! A great episode, i loved this!
The only "bad" part is that i wish it was a few minutes longer!
This was a great spotlight interview. Please do more of these IGN.
Great start to the series.
I prefer these more intimate conversations and interviews.
Fantastic job, IGN. This was great. I will buy this game. Not only because it looks like an awesome time, but also to support a brilliant developer's passion.
I'm so glad this guy was the first. When the promo vid showed him, I was excited to hear his experiences.
Brian did a great interview, he's so funny on Beyond and The Comedy Button I forget he's just good at talking to people.
Man I love that guy!! (And you too Brian ;) ) Every developers should be as dedicated and full of heart as Davide! It showed in the game how passionated he (and by extension his team) was!!
Because he is italian , we are very emitional
7.5/10
Too much passion
Kayden21 be your own person my man
Kayden21 I don’t know I just see people say “truuuuuuuueeee” all the time and I kind of hate it.
My god, have we all been there at some point. Living the dream.
Just Some Guy with a Mustache hello drifter
Good work IGN, people dont know what goes one behind the scenes when developing games. And this is proof that there is more to it than just programing and making it happen.
Still playing it. Great game.
If hearing this story has taught me one thing it's that despite what some people may think of Ubisoft that there are still people working at it that do still care and do want to give people an experience that's just pure fun, I don't think people should hate on Ubisoft as a whole as I and many others who played this game know it's a fun experience with a lot of passion put in it simply to give players a fun experience, and even though the triple AAA gaming scene doesn't look so bright right now stories and games like these give me a smile, like I said games like these proves that there are people in companies like Ubisoft who do still care.
How can Ubisoft have such a genuine guy on their team?
I wish there was a love button on here. That video was incredible. Good job, Brian!
Love the format, but maybe aim for 20 minutes runningtime? I'm sure you have enogh content to fill that time and it was just so interesting. Other than that, keep going!
This was the best thing I have seen all week. I love Davide, you can tell he is so passionate for games.
While I didn't like the game, I'm happy to see that this guy was so dedicated to make it great. Pleasing Nintendo is one of the hardest things anyone can do.
Man, I would cry if I met someone as amazing as Miyamoto as well.
Loved this video! Liked the style. It's honest, short and extremely well produced. Congrats!
The great thing about this interview is it feels a bit more personal. I suppose because you interviewed a dev who is into his game and not a marketing guy who only wants to sell an idea. More personal questions and behind the scenes info from the guys and gals who actually worked on the game makes interviews more interesting.
Although fulltime devs and designers have a tendency to be of a shy type and therefore seem to be not as ideal to interview in the first place, but I think it would be still worth it :)
Very professional yet still conversational. Excellent time transitions on gameplay and table discussion.
The production value on this video is amazing! Keep it up IGN! You guys are the best.
My second favourite switch game to date! Truly amazing beautiful graphics, Fantastic soundtrack and excellent battle system
pinkspider28 My second fave too. Wonderful game
Anthony23Riv definitely
Anthony23Riv definitely
love the video. it's so personal and passionate. more of this please!
this guy is amazing!! this is an awesome idea for videos! i def want more, just like unfiltered, i love these behind the scenes look at the people who keep me from enjoying real life. ;)
This is a great story thank you ign. A huge thumbs up!
Excellent story! *Takes my hat off and bows down.*
Amazing game! I didnt buy destiny 2 because of this game and i dont regret it... if you have a switch, buy this game now! 10/10
I adore this man. In the myriad of negativity, his team made something that the gaming world didn’t think would make them happy. Now he can see a lot of people loving something he had a hand in creating. I hope this is an IP that can expand because I will buy it every time.
Excellent video, i really liked a lot. Greetings from Dominican Republic.😊🇩🇴
IGN needs to promote this show more. I never saw this on my feed, and I had to remember to look for it..
anyway, great episode! and jeez, you can really feel the passion in this guy 😍
Great interview and awesome game. I did not have any interested in this game but decided to get it anyway. I am so glad I did. Now I want even more DLC.
The first time he met Miyamoto, he was so nervous he was seconds away from being about to surrender
I’m impressed with the overall quality of this game, it’s a masterpiece in game design and does some fresh, original ideas while being respectful to the characters and the world of Mario. I’m confident they’ll expand it even more in a sequel. Passion is what made the whole thing successful.
I love you Ubisoft man !
Waton Noob Same
Really great video Brian. Can't wait for your next one!!! This is gonna be a great series
Very good first entry in this series. I am always interested in the way a developers mind works.
This was so sweet. Definitely more videos like these please :')
I love the game, it was nice to see the human side and the passion behind it.
What a genuine guy. Much love to him.
This video had a lot of heart, awesome job IGN
This guy is too cute! Will buy!
1st episode.... love it, i wanna cry because of his inspiration!! TT^TT
This is a great series. Brian did a fantastic job interviewing, and this is shot incredibly well. Like many others in the comments, I would love to see more videos like this.
Great work Brian.
I've really enjoyed Peer hosting NVC. He does such a great job promoting other series on this site.
Beautiful.
When you hate on Miyamoto, and Mario. Just remember this guy
Honestly just make a separate channel for this quality content
It deserves its own place
Mario + rabbids 2!! With online battle mode :) 1v1 and 2v2 could be objective gametypes also
This was amazing. Everyone has somebody they look up too. Great job IGN and Brian
this video is fantastic! please keep making more and more of these :-)
Just amazing Brian ... Awesome job !!!
This was excellent Brian, really loved that you helped tell this gentleman's story.
I bought the game on eshop seconds before I clicked on this great interview🍻😄✊️😊👍✌️
This is a great game and this man should be extremely proud.
P.s So glad to hear that this game is getting a sequel. This Mario/Rabbids/Nintendo/Ubisoft can be a mainstay for generations
I literally cried throughout this whole video
Now that Ubisoft and Nintendo agreed for another Mario+Rabbids game please make another episode with Davide IGN
That was awesome!!!! Wonderful interview! This is a great series!!!!
Great interview, screw the trolls that lowered this dev team's morale.
This was so heart warming. The story behind this game is just beautiful.
Haven't seen you in a while Brian. You are looking good. Thanks for the interview!
This is amazing keep doing more and more.
that guy is wonderful, true passion out there for sure.
Great video and great interview! More videos like this, IGN!
Can't hold back my tears anymore!
This guy is now my favourite.
This was beautiful. Great work Brian!
These are the moments in gaming that must be talked about more. Instead, closed minded people only see the violence in games.
I loved the game so much that i kinda fell proud of his work to have acomplished what they did!!!
This is so inspiring. I'm holding back tears.
Sorry, this is a bit weird, but I had to google what his name was because it's only briefly mentioned in the beginning of the video. Wish it was in the comment section and/or in the title.
woow, IGN this was great, and what an story tho.
nobody:
The interviewer: "but you cried though right?"
"It's because you want to make other people happy."
Wait? Not to get there money and charge them pointless microtransactions? *cough* EA *cough*
Soliani is so inspiring in that he want to make a fun experience, not just a game with no inspiration and no heart put into it.
