When you brought up the workshops page I saw the photo of my beloved hometown Florence... That's a beauty you captured there! Thanks a lot for showing a little bit of love for my birthplace :)
they are very similar, flatten layers, bring all the layers together with the current view, merge brings the layers together based on the layers you have selected. I hope that helps 😀
Hi Jamie, what you are doing with these photos is brilliant. I will be looking at trying some of this myself and will be falling back on your videos for information and inspiration. Cheers Scotty
Morning, Afternoon, Evening Jamie ☺️ like many other of your subscribers I am going through all those Oh um photos taken on my past travels and breathing life into these previously average photos using the information and techniques you have generosity sharing with us 👍🏼 will check out your new website and hopefully l can get on one of your workshops
Hey Tony, nice to hear from you, and thank you for the comment, it would be great to meet you at one of my workshops, I am working hard to find a balance between cost and content, as everything has gone up so much in the 12 months, I try to limit the number of people to 10, so it is more personal and therefore we get more one-to-one time. I will be releasing my Paris and Medieval English Cities Itinary's later this week, but I will do a video to explain what the plans are for 2024. Thank you for your support 😀
Your depth of knowledge of about each feature and tool in Photoshop and Lightroom and when to use that feature and tool is indeed impressive. I thought the photo looked great after the first step of dragging the Highlight slider to the left. But you added so much more after that, to make it another piece of Photographic Art. Thanks for the lesson.
Thank you Marlin for your kind words, I find it is the 'knowing when to stop' part of the video the hard part :-) I think in future I might record some very detailed tutorials that run for 4-5 hours, but offer them through my web-site, so people have a choice if they want to watch them, as RUclips does not like videos too long. What do you think ?
I think 4 to 5 hours is a bit long. I taught high school for 35 years, and I learned to "keep things short," otherwise I started to lose students' attention. I don't know that we adults are any better.@@jamiermathlin
Another great video Jamie. Will now be sorting through my past images to give them a second life. Just love your attention to detail and your thorough explanation of edits. Have a great New Year and look forward to your next video.
Love your videos. I check each morning to see if a new one is out. If it is, I settle in for an enjoyable tutorial. Thanks for sharing your efforts.
Thanks Lee for your kind words, they are very much appreciated 😀
Jamie, I like the juxtaposition of historical and contemporary architecture. White reveals, and black conceals.😎🤙
Thank You Ron, I really enjoyed processing this image myself, something a little different 😀

Hi Jamie, when you merged visible, could you gobto the Layers tab and "flatten layer"? Is that the same thing? Many thanks, Andy.
