Dig the channel ! I was gifted an 85’vmax with 45,000 miles on it. Not in the greatest shape , but it is still running . Do you have any tips on giving it some TLC ? anything i should be looking out for as well ?
Hello Tom. Thanks for watching subscribing and commenting. I'm super happy yu are enjoying my channel. Congratulations on getting your Vmax. Mine is also a 1985 so everything you watch on my channel will be identical to yours. The early Vmax's do have a few problems to be aware of. Second gear can blow out costing a lot to get repaired but you can do it yourself. The oil pump can also suddenly pop out an "O" ring which can cause your engine to have total failure. Sadly nothing you do will stop either happening unless you pull the motor out and update the failing parts. My best advice is simply to fix a problem as soon as it happens. Give your bike oil changes often. I change mine every 2,000 KLM. and keep your brake and clutch fluids clean by changing them a few times a year. Vmax's are made to ride and enjoy so have a wonderful time, ride safely and stay alive If there is anything you need to know just send me a mail and I'll do my best to help.
