I overlooked this JRPG back in 2015 because of a lack luster trailer and I figured I would just wait for Final Fantasy 15 at the time. I'm also not a crazy fan of action jrpgs instead I favor turn based jrpgs. But due to a sale on PSN and a lack of Triple A games out at the moment in 2020. I venture into Academia to see if Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, the remaster of the PSP game, was a game I should have never overlooked.

This game was so criminally underrated. There's some quality issue but the gameplay is so good. It's also one of the few action games that do AI/tag team allies well
This is the only game in which I started a new game + as soon as I beat it
Definitely one of my favorite games ever
From the big lore of fabula nova chrystallis, to the war commentary, and characters like Machina, Rem and Ace this game is truly something special. I can't believe people dislike it, but I do understand that it's not for everyone. For me it's just unbelievably good in both the plot, themes, and gameplay
Type 0 is the best FF game I've played and my most favorite JRPG game next to Persona series.

@@BadgersGameRoom The Legend of Heroes games are well worth your time for some good turn based JRPG goodness as well. Some of the best world building I've seen in a game series
ARPG is my fav genre, I've played them extensively (including very obscure old school fan translations and other games no one even knows about) and let me put it simply: Type-0 has quite possibly the most fun combat system I've ever played in an ARPG.
I, much like you, skipped this game due to people saying bad things about it and also due to being highly suspicious of its quality after seeing "gimmicky" elements such as the RTS and shooter segments but suddenly out of the blue I decided to give the game a chance and see what it's like. MAN, I WASN'T READY!
Type-0 has quickly skyrocketed as one of my favorite FFs ever too, I'd say the sheer amount of fun I have with this game is comparable only to how FF5 felt way back then. The question that remains is IF Type-0 will become my top favorite FF so...I need to replay it more to see how it will stand the test of time. Regardless, it is already most definitely in my top 5 for sure.

ENDLESS Endgame contents and secrets.. a true hidden gem. Only game on my playstation I bothered to get platinum trophy on and it was worth the 300+ hours. Just started new account and got Queens Beserker mode . Agito 50+ im coming for you

im glad you love the game too.. i played the original psp version & turned out to be one of my favorite psp ARPG. this game is very ahead of its time considering on the psp's limitation.
Yup! I prefer ARPG games now because of FFT-0. FF7R and Tales Of Arise being a couple recent examples

Thanks I appreciate the kind words. "Sice" was my favorite as far as personality she was such a loveable badass. For fighting I liked the range attackers like "Ace", "Cater", and "King". There's some cool melee characters like "Queen" she was fast, powerful and easy to use. "Nine" is a strong melee character but slow. Best of luck your going to enjoy it!
I just picked this game up yesterday for $5 at a local GameStop, got an Xbox One and was looking for some games to start out with, and I'll grab just about anything for $5. Really surprised you have as little of a subscriber pool as you do. Lot of quality in this video and I'm sure your others reflect the same

I just finished the game tonight. And I love. I don't why people say it sucks. I believe is because people have don't even play it.
This is a true final fantasy game. A little short, but a great game at the end.

I've played every Final Fantasy at this point. This is easily one of my favorites. Just hard to relate to the teenagers lol.

I played the jp version on psp back then but since i cant understand japanese i only managed to reach disc 2 and cant progress there anymore. i totally forgot there's a remake and will try to play if i have time
U could probably blow thru disc 1 quickly if u just stick to the story

Ace and Queen were my go to characters when I was having trouble. I couldn't get used to Jack tho

Honestly, this is one of my favorites of all time. I love the fucking beautiful waifus of this game so much and i even recorded a lot their panty shot gameplay videos.
Lol. I remember the pantyshots caused some complaints from game journalists when the psp version released. It would probably be censored if it were released nowadays.

The disc for ps4 should come the full game. Extra content like costumes and cutscenes. No need to download DLC. It's a complete package

Did you read about the Dragon Nation Concordia's history? Fuck man lol. They were all beast masters as a gift from their crystal, and well off afterwards for hundreds of years. A quite powerful nation. The Blue Dragon Crystal gifted them with beast mastery. They were well off for many years because of this. One day came and the Blue Dragon Crystal gifted them with lesser dragons. They named their nation Dracobatia. This greatly increased their military power, and they used that power to fly to and attack other nations. Over a short time they became the dominant nation among all four. However, the people and their king treated the dragons like pack mules. This eventually lead to physical abuse as well. Then one day the Azure Dragon Crystal appeared to them. It destroyed the Blue Dragon Crystal, and the ENTIRE nation of Dracobatia, as well as the lesser dragons. Then the Azure Dragon Crystal created many hundreds of thousands of greater dragons, and hundreds of "people" to serve as interpreters. Like Queen Andoria. She has foresight and the ability to talk directly with the Azure Crystal. No one else can do this.
The Azure Crystal did not destroy the Blue Crystal. The original crystal was destroyed because the kingdom started to eat the dragons,the dragons were the power of the crystal in the same way that magic is the power of the red crystal. As they eat dragons the crystal grow weaker until it was destroyed,then the new crystal appeared because there has to be balance between the nations until the time of tempus finis (the end of the spyral). Also the Queen can talk with the crystal because she is a l'Cie,all of them can talk with the crystals,the king of Lorica is a l'Cie as well

Because the male progenitors of the Blue Dragon people had consumed dragons' flesh, the male descendants were cursed to turn into monsters themselves. The female descendants, unaffected by the curse, took over the country in the year 252 under the name Azure Dragon, a new Crystal that had appeared to restore the balance in Orience and replace the Blue Dragon Crystal. Concordia became a matriarchy.

The end we are missed class zero today I ended I cried power bc class zero is dead machina and Rem are alive and how Rem never have sick and she's not dead I think machina saved him..? So we missed him T^T
The current Big in Japan sale brought me here especially since I only got like 26 bucks and torn between buying: Ni No kuni Remastered + Final Fantasy Type 0 or Nier Game of the Yorha Edition.. still got till October to decide
In all fairness FF Type 0 HD is great. But for the money you will get more content out of Nier 😂

Quit after getting done with first mission. Soooooo boring. Characters are bland, world boring and combat is super light weight and too many prompts that I am not interested in. Just let me focus on the damn gameplay. Constant challenges and things going on it's like just way too chaotic. You get like 14 people to play as at beginning with no story to introduce them. There is a reason Final Fantasy games start you out with 1 or 2 people. The school is super boring. Lifeless and is badly designed. Most places you go is through a portal! They can't even design it to just connect. I was happy to see a world map. But was completely barren. The combat is the saving grace but......I can't deal with everything else to focus on it. Also the story is too complicated in how it's told. HUGE info dump. This game reminds me of 8 so it's a shame it's so poorly made. This could be compared to Kingdom Hearts spin offs. Difference is, characters are the same and worlds were created by Disney. So all they had to focus on was a few arcs and bosses and combat system. So even if I wanted to play this like Birth by sleep, it still couldn't hold my interest. I have no idea how anyone likes this game.

@@actavisnotech It made 15 seem not so bad lol. Before to me 15 was the worst game. Before 15 it was 13. Also don't like World of Final Fantasy but at least it has funny story. Don't care about it's easy Pokemon gameplay though. Still at least I could probably force myself to play it probably. But type zero? Hell no. This is the single worst FF title I've ever played. I never played Adventure, Mystic Quest, and phone games don't count aside from maybe that dimensions one that seems like a true game
For someone who has done only one mission you have quite the opinions on the whole game. Also it's a PSP game whatchu expect?
But yeah I too don't recommend the game and the start is really bad, but it's a quilty pleasure of mine tbh.
@@knavenformed9436 Don't got time for games with no real stand out qualities. Simple fun games aren't enough. But I may give it another chance one day with different mind set. As I almost quit Dragon Quest 11. It's super slow and simple so far. But my mind set of tiredness is making it harder to enjoy
