There is only one singer who I fell in love with her voice the very first time I heard it on the radio at age seven. She was my favorite singer/vocalist right then in there, and it's been about fifty years now. I've never been so decisively right in my life, but I know music, I know vocalists, and I know hit music and future superstar singers. I just didn't know I would also develope a life-long crush on the most beautiful woman in the world, too. No one will ever compare to Olivia. A true gift to the world.

You were a prescient youth with good ear. I just assumed there'd be more like her as I got older, but that never happened.
I adored her for 50 years now, more than any woman since, besides my Mother.
      I presume now I'll remain a bachelor -
      nothing compares to dearest Olivia.💔

@@NickNicometi My number two favorite singer who I also knew at a very young age, who is also a member of my favorite band of all time, ABBA, and who is also, to me, the second most beautiful women in the world, how could she not, is Agnetha Faltskog.
She and Olivia have/had two of the most amazing, natural, and pure, unauto-tuned voices, who went on to sell millions and millions of albums, and were/are both stunningly beautiful women. And as hard as it is to be that beautiful ( men and women loved both of these two ), and is/was those amazing voices and songs that few can compare to.

The most gorgeous singer I have ever known . She took my breath away as a young boy. I followed her career since 1973. I finally had the pleasure of meeting her in Las Vegas after her show on 1st Aug 2014. It was my birthday weekend . I cherish my photo with her and autograph . I miss her , but I promise to keep her memory alive. Thank you for the vintage videos . Olivia is gorgeous in every way. ❤

I am 41 years old and, my dear Olivia, you have been my inspiration and accompanied me in the good and the bad moments, in happy and sad ones, since I was 14 years old. I can't imagine a world where there is no you, but you will forever live in my heart and in my thoughts. I know that someday we will share the same time and space once again. In the meantime, rest in peace, wherever you are. The world is a better place because of hearts like yours - because of people like you! And the echo of your unique and phenomenal voice will always LIVe on... You are love and light! I will always love you, Olivia. 💙💜💚❤🤍💗

I think she had the gift of story telling though song. The emotion she can convey in this and some other songs is just so deep and rich it takes you to another place. Gives me goose bumps still. I loved her in the late 70's and early eighty's, had all her albums. Then life got in the way. I turned away from music. Gave all my albums away.
But here I am 46 years later, still listening to her. What an utterly beautiful women, that voice. Think I'll listen to it again.
Be kind to yourselves and others we are living in dark times. As they try to get control over us all, remember there is beauty, in life. You are sovereign don't give that power to any govt / corporation.

@@walford70 This was the first time I saw and heard Olivia on television. I fell in love with her voice the first time I heard her on the car radio back in 71 when I was seven. I had seen pictures:album covers. I found out she was going to be on The Smothers Brothers Show. Perhaps it was the tv guide. Not many channels back then, one television and somehow I got to watch it. I was in LOVE ( still am ). I never forgot that episode and tried for years to find it. No luck. Finally posted on RUclips some 46 years later. A dream come true to see and hear this, again.

My siblings and I were able to see her in concert after the If You Love Me Let Me Know album came out, only because she suddenly filled in for Jim Croce after he died in that sad plane crash. She came to a city near our town, and I was only about 12 or 13 years old. She was the dream concert for me, because I am a soprano and as a kid, wanted to be her, I loved her voice and looks so much. 🙂 She sounded just as good in person as on vinyl and cassette. This is such a strange clip, since Olivia never released "Amoureuse" in the States. The label didn't even include it on the compilation "If You Love Me, Let Me Know," since it was competing with Kiki Dee's version.
"Amoureuse" could have been one of Olivia's early "signature" songs - right up there with "I Honestly Love You" and "Have You Never Been Mellow?" It's a beautiful song, and her vocals are sublime.

The best version remains the original version of the French singer Véronique Sanson who also wrote and composed this song in 1971, her vibrato remains unique and inimitable and neither Kiki Dee, neither Olivia Newton John exude the sensuality that Véronique Sanson exudes during her performance. No doubt because this She really saw the song that she performed after having written it after a night of love when she was 20 years old.The lyrics of the song are beautiful but the song made a mini scandal at the time because the majority was set at 21 but it allowed her to triumph, French men fell in love with her at the time by listening to the tone of her voice in this song, But not that since the American singer Stephen Stills passing through in Paris fell in love listening to the song performed by Véronique Sanson and asked to meet her and eventually married her.
