Super cool Freddy! I never went with the motorized legs because of the fear of the bulkiness and seeing this stuff protruding from underneath, look forward to seeing how it turns out. I know you'll make it look nice and clean. Nice unboxing video. I didn't know you're getting a tanker?!? Thats on my list as well, I just have so much to build I figure i'll wait. I know they're a little pricey but they seem nicely detailed. I plan on getting two and connecting them with one of my dolly trailers that I still need to build lol. Anyway I made a few nice things for these tankers that give them some nice detail. Let me know if you're interested I'd be happy to hook you up. I make some cool little placards and also a nice 3d printed valve station. 👍
Very good point about the legs! Didn't realize how much extra was needed until I opened the box...wow...that is a lot of extra bulk! - If it doesn't look right on the tanker I can always remove it and put it on something else. Anyway...thank you! Once the tanker arrives I'll do another unboxing video and a build video. When it's done I'd LOVE to see what you have and add some of your items to it INCLUDING the Mansfield bar! lol I'd like to make this trailer the "piece de resistance". Question for you...What's your opinion on the scale look of combining two of these trailers with your dolly trailer? Just seems that when you see two trailers being pulled together, they are always shorter. It's not too often you see two full size trailers being pulled behind a semi. I'm sure I've seen it maybe once, but that's it.
@@FastFreddyRC Well heres how I see it, I don't know too much about tankers, but I know a bit. The Tamiya tanker is 814mm which is about 37.5 feet in 1/14 scale. Most Tankers are about 40' in real life so its pretty close. Now when it comes to B-train tankers, as far as I knew.......the ones I've seen are usually about 60' total length between the two, the one in the front is about 32' and the rear is about 28', don't quote me. But I've also seen, like you said, (but rarely)..... two full sized tankers. Puttung two Tamiya tankers together won't look strange as far as length is concerned, the main incorrectness is how i'll be hooking them up. I plan on using my dolly converter, which is also known as an A-train. That style of train is more common on Fedex trailers, UPS trailers, van style trailers, not tankers. Tankers are 99 percent B-train which means the lead trailer is one solid piece with the three axles and a 5th wheel, which means you can back it up much easier. The A-train (dolly converter) has the pintle hitch and is almost impossible to back up. Anyway, i'm still gonna do it because it'll look cool and I don't care lol.
@@westernsharpie Love it! Love your explanation too because from all that I've seen out there on the road you're hitting the mark with every point. In Oregon, those UPS/FedX trucks are often seen pulling THREE trailers as it's legal to do so in that state and a few others (which I know you know being a trucker yourself) And yes, I can see that backing those up would be a complete nightmare. Wasn't trying to deter you from doing it, I just know that from previous videos you're definitely in the know when it comes to scale realism. Anyway, love your explanation and can't wait to see your finished product. I'm told that my tanker trailer should be here in about a week and a half. I would LOVE if Tamiya came out with a B-train setup...especially for the flatbeds I think. I think you could have a lot of fun loading them. FYI I want to get a Carson forklift so I can buy more of your stuff and start loading the flatbed! lol All in good time.
@@FastFreddyRC Awesome Freddy. There's lots to know for sure but everything doesn't have to be by the book, thats the beauty of it. As long as you're having fun and it seems from our videos and conversation we sure are lol. If someone needs a forklift it's me!! lol. I have so many things that are on pallets that can be loaded onto my flatbed with a forklift, it's crazy I don't have one yet. I think the reason is because I originally wanted that Carson, which seems to be a pretty good forklift, but I've watched a few videos of people upgrading a few parts on them to make them better and thought maybe i'll just spend the extra and get that one from RC4WD. It's twice as expensive as the Carson, but feel its a better quality forklift. Anyway like you said.....in good time. I'll be looking out for your next video. You do a nice job.
Hi fast freddy i was thinking about purchasing the motorized support legs for my maersk container trailer which connects up to my grand hauler but I don't like the building sequence now i used to when i was younger so both truck and trailer i purchased already fully built so do you reckon i should buy the support legs or not
Hi David! That's a good question. If you have absolutely no interest in building kits anymore I'm not sure you'll like getting the support legs. Just like the trucks, the support legs have a manual (like you can see in the video) and they will require you to not only build the legs and build the gear box, you'll also have to buy a servo for your grand hauler and then use the pieces in this kit to rebuild the back end of your grand hauler with the moving pieces from this kit. So the short answer would be if you don't have any interest in building anything I would NOT get the support legs. However...if you want a small project that will require a bit of building you could order this and see what you think.
Actually David, I’ll do a build video on the legs so you can see for yourself whether this is something you want to attack or not. I’m working on a movie at the moment so I’ll need a bit of time to get this out for you. I’ll message you here when I launch it. Hope it will help!
@@davidlacey4665 Hi David!! So I’m almost there. The legs have been installed on the trailer and I’ll be putting together a video of the build over the next week.
That's definitely on my list! Got to get a Sound System for my new Tipper first.....
PRIORITIES!!! 😁
Great information.
Appreciate it David…thank you.

I would rather have the option to buy assembled landing gear!
Yeah it’s interesting that the only option is to build it.
