She doesnt even just sing it in his style when theyre harmonising - at the end of the song when she threatens him that he shouldnt disappoint her, she says "warrior of the mind" in the same style that Odysseus taught her :)
Huh, she doesn't realize he has changed her. I replayed a d hear it too. She is so sure of their positions she doesn't notice neither. Doesn't notice until it is nearly too late.

I know I am a year late almost, and just getting into this musical as a friend introduced me to it a few weeks ago, but one detail I like is how she reconstitutes her cool owl visor into an owl tiara after she has been found out, now that she is taking Odysseus under her wing (yeah I know, pun...xD )
I like how you depict Odysseus and Athena’s relationship that is an uneven dynamic; dominant-submissive. Athena is not only Odysseus’ mentor, but also his kind of master. While Odysseus is not only Athena’s student nor friend but also her kind of pet. This shows more of gods’ personas of how manipulative and how cruel they are. In this portrayal, Athena doesn’t want to guide Odysseus in the first place but to control him.
I like how Odysseus turns into the apple and Athena holds it. In Greek mythology, a golden apple represented a prize or trophy, thus not so subletly telling Odysseus that he WILL be her trophy or prize to her greatness. Love it!
This gets kinda foreshadowed by the song. He thought he found a friend and master, and she dismisses it. Then later Odysseus is like "I thought you were my friend" and she goes "I'm not, I'm your master and you failed me". I do like to think she grew attached to him, and that's why their goodbye is explained through a song and not like an outro for the previous song. It's a big moment and not a "you disappointed me" "k bye"
@@FantasyFighterJEN nah, a few of them have myths that make it clear they view a mortal or two as their equal. Least by the standards of that time anyway. But it's usually lesser deities
DUDE! YOU ACTUALLY SLAYED! I adore how her eyes are shown when she's recognized and she's actually surprised someone knows who she is (since her insecurities are shown in the song "my goodbye") AND YOU LINKING IT TO "OPEN ARMS" AND THE SHEEP IN THE CAVE IN THE SECOND SAGA?! GENIUS! You've gotten me so hyped that the fanbase already has such promising animators in it! Amazing job!
@@ShinSeul She paused after Odysseus shouts "youre alone" thats because she was an unmarried, virgin goddess and the closest relationship she ever had was her mentorship with him. She's insecure about her loneliness.
People don't realize how controlling Athena is to Odysseus. Athena straight up said "I see you changing from how I've designed you" like everything he did goes to her? Which is partly true after all Athena did mentor him. But, Athena was only there because Odysseus had so much potential. Her intentions are to get recognition by training an amazing warrior. Some may say that's not true but, in the song "My Goodbye" Odysseus said "why's your life spent all alone? You're alone". That clearly hunt of her feelings because, she is fighting to know and to get recognition. And the way she thinks she will be know is training and controlling a amazing warrior.
I like to think that she grew affectionate to him to the point that he hurt her feelings when saying that. But yeah he was serving a purpose and that's why she approached him in the first place. This is kind of foreshadowed here, because he considered her a friend and she dismissed this. So in the other song he goes "I thought you were my friend" and she's like "I'm not, I'm your master"
I love the characterisation you gave Atena. Like, yes she was impressed with kid Odysseus, yes she trained him and he clearly adimired her, but there was still a distance, a coldness and, when she grabed his arm almost a vaild treat in the "don't disapoint me". Perfect set up to My Goodbye. Amazing work (Sorry for any bad spelling, english is not my first language)

Ok but now I imagine her frantically scrolling through memories to find which one is good to show him😂 I know that's probably not what happened but it's a vibe I'm getting 😂
Gods, the FACE REVEAL is so GOOD! Just, the idea that Odysseus's declaration of truth was strong enough to strip away the mask off her face is so good; it's not like anyone would question the badass giant lady with wings and a spear and helmet WASN'T Athena, but the fact he instantly knew, steps up to her challenge of 'you tell me who you are first', and describes her in a way that gets to the core of who she is, is enough to rend her illusion away from her. Such good visual storytelling.
3:27 Athena holding an apple. It could show Athena's readiness to take on the mentorship role. like, you know...how they would give apples to teachers? Theory 2: The apple could be a nod to the Iliad. The one the Trojan Prince had to choose which of the three goddesses to give, in which Athena's offer of wisdom was lost to Aphrodite's offer of giving the prince the most beautiful woman in the world. Whoever won that apple has the right to be entitled Goddess of Beauty, which Athena clearly lost. So I'm guessing that Odysseus would acquire the wisdom and skills Paris could've had. And I think Athena looks most beautiful in that time frame with the owl wings and untouched regal stance.
@@isabelbowers6622 No, but I'm planning to start reading the Iliad on April. Haven't gotten much time for myself these days. Do you have any suggestions?
Well a nod to the cyclian poems around Iliad since there is no judgment of Paris in Iliad (Iliad starts at the final year of Trojan War and ends at Hector's funeral) but point taken it is a very good suggestion
@isabelbowers6622 you can even find it online at persons.tufts in both English and the original Greek. It is pretty decent translation and you can click on the words for more info
I love the way Athena treats him in this. Most animatics only show Athena and Odysseus interacting when he is young, where their relationship is more teasing. Now, he dissapointed her. She grabs him, throws him on his back and holds him up by the arm. You can really see the difference in status and the way she sees Odysseus. The way you drew 'don't dissapoint me' makes it threatening. I just love the interpretation of it all
HOLY CRAP THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!! The part where Odysseus says “Sounds like a plan, goddess to man, bestest of friends” made me smile because of his face being full of such childlike glee at finding out that Athena would mentor him.
Oh my holy cow what in the Hades was that I need to make a checklist for all the things I'm sorry 1. Let's just appreciate the fluidness of Athena's transformation right after the start credits like HOW COOL IS THAT??? 2. The storytelling and how it's fitted perfectly with the Open Arms animatic 😭😭❤️ 3. ATHENAS DESIGN LIKE DAMN, THAT IS SOME OTHERWORLDLY SHT, HOLY HADES, THE MASK, THE IDEA OF IT DISAPPEARING WHEN ODY SAYS HER NAME, THE FACT THAT SHE HAS W I N G S (yes she is my favourite goddess and yes I apparently love any character that possesses wings) 4. Athena and Ody's relationship shown here and then in contrast how Athena is both kinda irritated and disappointed at his reaction to Polites' philosophy omh 5. Let's once more just ADMIRE THE ARTSTYLE 5.1 AND THE HANDS 5.2 AND ALL THE DESIGNS AND THE FACT THAT THEY LOOK LIKE THEIR ACTORS so uhh mircsy in conclusion this animatic is so good I can't express this enough I am just in love marry me pls
This is amazing!!! I love how you interpret Quick-Thought. Portraying it as an out-of-body/Astral projection is so clever! Athena’s changing form into an owl, the magic boar, and the seal on Odysseus. Not to mention how adorable you made Argos!
Ikr!! The whole Quick-Thought ability Athena has where she conveys all of this in a second of real time (which is how Polites sees it during Open Arms), but here it’s all shown as Athena showing all of these memories to Odysseus as a reminder :D !! It’s such an awesome way to visualize it
THIS IS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!! You considered details such as Odysseus saving Polites and I just LOVED when Athena talks to young Odysseus all the facial expressions were so accurate, I hope you make more animatics because this just made my day
The animalistic non-natural (otherworldly/different) touches to Athena when the mask comes off are cool. I can't explain what it is about her expression or facial features in that exact moment, but she reminds me strongly of a lioness then. The confident dominance, the inherent danger and deadly threat of her power, and her keenly sharp mind. And a few seconds before, her nails remind me of claws which adds to the overall deadly predator vibe that becomes unsubtle during her holding him by the wrist then her glowing forbidding eyes and cold demand of 'dont disappoint me'
Part of it is how much bigger she is to Odysseus. She is physically imposing in every sense of the statement. Odysseus is between 10 - 13 and barely comes to her shoulders. She is absolutely jacked compared to his frame. As he grows up, he never catches up to her in height! She actually gets even bigger compared to how she initially portrayed herself, most notably in the part where everyone says she is thinly veiling a threat that he better not disappoint her. When she appeared to him as a child, he could stand up to her shoulder. When she appears to him when he is a King, he is barely beneath her bust. We could argue she is using her actual size to subtle put him in his place; beneath her, reinforcing her demands that his only right choice is to obey.
And the way that her eyes go black when she’s in fight mode? Did anyone else catch that cause that just shows you how powerful she is and how she really is not human but most definitely otherworldly like you mentioned… she is Athena!
I am SPEECHLESS! This is so amazing, the boys being friends since childhood, Odysseus's being a little shit and tricking Athena, her face when the mask falls is priceless. I loved every second of this
I love how you depicted Odysseus’s growth alongside Athena’s influence. A child eager to take on a challenge with his friends, to a skilled fighter and king, to a man hardened by war and loss. I loved seeing little Ody protect little Polites and seeing how much he cares for his friends, and that part is especially gutting knowing how the rest of the story plays out.
unfortunately, Jorge said that in Telemachus' song "Legendary" he wanted the dog to be seen in an animatic marching along with him as he sings and then he never wants to see it again after that lol his own words
This was great, the mask falling, Athena grabbing Odysseus’ tattoo at the end, the credits, the style, and much more. Thanks for putting the time in this.
DUDE THIS WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. The fact that they were friends as kids, and Odysseus being a little shit. (How cute tiny Politese is) The fact that the designs resemble the characters voice actors. Athena's eyes being revealed at the same time as her identity? The size difference between Odysseus and Athena??? *The way it fucking links back to Open Arms* Absolute perfection. And the sheep at the end hinting to the Cyclops??? I might edit this each time I notice more things. Keep up the goddamn beautiful work.
I really love how in most Warrior of the Mind animatics you can see that while Athena didn’t plan to become Odysseus’s friend she in the end still did become close to him.
Okay, fun little detail about this song: Odysseus never actually revealed his name to Athena in the flashbacks. This makes a lot of sense, because this takes place before the Troy Saga, before “The Odyssey”. The name “Odysseus” can translate to mean ‘To be wroth against, to hate’ or ‘to lament’ or ‘to be lost’ depending on which source you’re using. (Nowadays it can just mean a lost traveler.) Because he hasn’t gone on his journey yet, he hasn’t experienced hatred or loss yet, and therefore he doesn’t reveal his name. It isn’t until the end of the Cyclops Saga that he realizes he is lost, and has experienced loss and been on the receiving end of hatred. It is only then he reveals: “I am the infamous… ODYSSEUS!!!”
Hear me out! I came up with an idea for a crossover we need. Epic x Hamilton! The frame at 2:08 minutes gave me the impression of Athena talking to Alexander.
I loved every single second of it. Please please do the rest of the saga. I would love to see your design of "Survive" and "My Goodbye". The astral body idea is such a great idea man. Loved your work. Keep at it 👍
Idk if this is intended but i *LOVE* the "your light" reference at 1:25 when Oddyseus said "you tried to move but your muscles wouldn't give" then Polites said "but then you jumped right in his way you forced the boar down and saved the day"
omg I love it! Especially Odysseus' facial expressions when he's looking for Athena (but actually all facial expressions, really) are so well drawn! And the transition from Athena becoming an owl - it looks so cool. And in my opinion the connection between this animatic and the Open Arms one is incredibly made. I always wondered how these songs would fit together in the storyline. Here I have my explanation.
That's so cool! I just realised that at 0:42 , you can see owls on her outfit because an owl is considered wise and Athena is the Godess of Wisdom and Master of War! I love how you put detail into her outfit like that
Part of the reason owls are associated with wisdom, I think, is because they were a symbol of Athena! Like how horses are associated with Poseidon and peacocks are associated with Hera.
I couldn't stop smiling watching this. All the details! I love Odysseus, Polites, and friends plotting and enacting their clever plan against the boar. And the call back to Your Light! Also, Athena's design and moves are awesome. I would love to see something similar to this played out on stage during the flash-back so the audience could see a little more of Odysseus and Polites together before . . . you know. Too many things I could comment on, so I'll leave it at that.
I adore how you show the relationship between Athena and Odysseus. The strict and forceful way she treats him even as an adult. The gods were not friends with mortals, even those they were training or mentoring, they used the mortals to their own end. No matter how much Odysseus saw her as a friend, and she was invested in his success, in the end he was her warrior and as soon as he stopped being the warrior she wanted him to be, she had no reason to invest in his success any further.
WHREE DO I EVEN START All of Odysseus child scenes especially the sparkle laugh Athena power poses and the possessive holdings on Odysseus scenes gave me chills omg
I haven't seen enough love for how AMAZINGLY this animatic portrayed the 'Quick Thought' effect Athena has in the musical that makes almost all of her encounters with Odysseus be full length conversations and encounters that actually happen in one single moment all at once. I imagine it would be disorienting to experience that and it was portrayed really well here how one second you're waiting to catch an apple, and then the next you've had a 5 minute long humbling reminder that the god who is your mentor is watching you and is currently displeased with your attitude right now. It's just perfect.
1:30 the thing i like about this scene is that Odysseus looks towards Athena in curiosity, but then pays attention to the ball thrown by his friends. this is foreshadowing their rift and what causes it. how Odysseus cares more about the people around him and his human side then Athena and her guidance
I can't describe well, it but the mood of this made it feel like Odysseus's genuine respect for Athena, not only as a mentor but as a friend, was met unrequited since through the beginning and end there was a sense of coldness from her even considering she practically raised him...it's such a lonely feeling...
Everything about this is amazing. I love the art style, the little boys being friends (🥺🥺🥺), little Odysseus being so playful, and Athena!! Her wings! Mask!! Clothes!!! The details!! Her mask crumbling when Odysseus says her name👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 and the scenery, as well. I love how you’ve made this somewhat of a daydream flashback! ❤️❤️

Two words: Love it. I am in awe at this, really like the animation and the you're style. I especially like the way you portrayed the meaning of the words in the video and the reference made to the actualy myth. i really love everything about this and, if asked, I dont think I'd be able to choose a favourite moment of this video; it is really all a perfect work in my eyes.
oh my god this was PERFECTION!! i can 100% see the vision behind it and imagine what it would look like as a full animation, but honestly as an animatic it's gorgeously stylized and just EVERYTHING this song should be! it totally enhances the source material, not to mention your art style is gorgeous and your ability to draw dynamic poses that can be interpreted as movement is beyond enviable!!! this is just SO good i'm in love :,D
I just love how whenever I watch these animatics they all make the gods slightly inhuman. Which is "canonical" to the myths as all of the humans were based off of the gods but the gods being themselves and a bit too selfish(Zeus) didn't want them to be exactly like themselves. I love how you made her taller which is imposing as her status as a war goddess but also made her look elegant as in the Myths she is considered beautiful. I love all of the Owl motifs in her design and how her armour looks practical and alike to her statues but also has a bit of a modern twist with the fishnets/chainmail. Athena is one of my favourite goddess in Myths(because she's pretty chill and won't curse you because Zeus had his way with you, or curse you because you ruined her OTP). So just to see her portrayed accurately but still with a modern twist is just beautiful.
Years of battling have let Athena to lock her emotions in order to fight without hesitant. But young Odysseus will show him there's more to life than being a warrior of you opened your heart a bit

i love how you portrayed athena, as someone who studies greek mythology i get tired of people thinking of athena as an arrogant man looking female or a scrawny girl with a plain look due to stereotypes that feminine women aren't smart or good fighters, but athena was said to be a slightly muscular beautiful woman and you nailed it
This was amazing! I love how you did the part of how she said she designed him and how she just threw him in his flashbacks! Also the way you designed Athena really looks beautiful and strong.
I don't normally comment on videos, but I had to let you know how much I love this! Words barely cover the surface of this talent that you bave built!! I think my favorite part of this whole video is when Ody bows to Athena as the owl form. The respect he has for her as a mentor even after all those years is amazing
All I can say is: THAT WAS SO SICK DUDE I WAS IN AWE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SEQUENCE. From the designs you gave each character to creatively alternating between Athena’s owl and godly form, the unmasking, the way you make sure that Athena isn’t overly friendly!!!
Oh my gosh this is so well done! From artstyles to character designs to editing and to storyboarding, this is the best epic animatic I have yet to seen!
Ahhh! Please tell me you're thinking of doing more from that musical! I really adore your animation work and your drawing skills! This was an awesome animation. I haven't seen animation like this since Szin and Claudia Cacace!
Well done! This is one of the best anamaic I've ever seen. I like how you see a bit of Athena training him as time passes. But I really like how you have Odysseus ,as a child, walking on a log as he starts singing with Athena. It's as if he sees her as a friend and naively thinks he's equal to her. Then, near the end, for her to grab his arm harshly trying to remind him of what their relationship really is just a mistress and her chess piece. The tattoo is like a brand showing him that he belongs to her. Odysseus's mind that was his weapon and talent, is now his obligation and chain to the goddess Athena.

YES!! Literally everything you listed :D !!
I'm pretty sure that was the point of All Greek gods
@@FantasyFighterJEN nah, a few of them have myths that make it clear they view a mortal or two as their equal. Least by the standards of that time anyway. But it's usually lesser deities
...Did you have to use that wording?
DUDE! YOU ACTUALLY SLAYED!
I adore how her eyes are shown when she's recognized and she's actually surprised someone knows who she is (since her insecurities are shown in the song "my goodbye")
AND YOU LINKING IT TO "OPEN ARMS" AND THE SHEEP IN THE CAVE IN THE SECOND SAGA?! GENIUS!
You've gotten me so hyped that the fanbase already has such promising animators in it! Amazing job!
Where's the part about the sheep?
@@logging_on After the animatic is over, you can hear the baaing of the sheep
May I ask what was her insecurity by the song My Goodbye? Thank you.
@@ShinSeul She paused after Odysseus shouts "youre alone" thats because she was an unmarried, virgin goddess and the closest relationship she ever had was her mentorship with him. She's insecure about her loneliness.
@@jessicaisautistic8487 Isn't she unmarried and a virgin by choice though?
Amazing work
(Sorry for any bad spelling, english is not my first language)
You write better than me and English is my first language lol
@@Officialnutterbutter ikr
Your English is amazing the only slight spelling mistake I think is you misspelled threat as treat.
@@neolord1215 sorry great lord of all shakespearian knowledge this gravel forgot who she was speaking to
@@vickymoon933 You are forgiven simpleton, it would be wrong of me to begrudge filth for acting the way it naturally does. Do not forget that you live the rest of your days only due to my benevolence and kindness. I bid you adieu.
2:02 I just LOVE how young Odysseus does his hand movements just pure "HOLY SHIT THAT WORKED LET'S GOOOOO!" Energy
I LOVE how it looks like she's scrolling through save screens to find the flashback she wanted. Way to keep the video game influences Jay wrote throughout the whole musical! Such a great touch.
Do you know which version of the Illiad is the best to read??
@@isabelbowers6622 No, but I'm planning to start reading the Iliad on April. Haven't gotten much time for myself these days. Do you have any suggestions?
Well a nod to the cyclian poems around Iliad since there is no judgment of Paris in Iliad (Iliad starts at the final year of Trojan War and ends at Hector's funeral) but point taken it is a very good suggestion
@isabelbowers6622 you can even find it online at persons.tufts in both English and the original Greek. It is pretty decent translation and you can click on the words for more info
I was thinking about the 2nd idea, but I was searching for any other ideas and the 1st one is also good.
I just love the interpretation of it all
1:01 I love how all the warriors were kids together and that they would work together to achieve great things and they did in the future
HOLY CRAP THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!! The part where Odysseus says “Sounds like a plan, goddess to man, bestest of friends” made me smile because of his face being full of such childlike glee at finding out that Athena would mentor him.
The way he puts his hand up like for a high-five but Athena low-key ghosts him 💀🤚🏼
And the way even his hair lost Enthusiasm at the okay
Oh my holy cow what in the Hades was that
I need to make a checklist for all the things I'm sorry
1. Let's just appreciate the fluidness of Athena's transformation right after the start credits like HOW COOL IS THAT???
2. The storytelling and how it's fitted perfectly with the Open Arms animatic 😭😭❤️
3. ATHENAS DESIGN
LIKE DAMN, THAT IS SOME OTHERWORLDLY SHT, HOLY HADES, THE MASK, THE IDEA OF IT DISAPPEARING WHEN ODY SAYS HER NAME, THE FACT THAT SHE HAS W I N G S (yes she is my favourite goddess and yes I apparently love any character that possesses wings)
4. Athena and Ody's relationship shown here and then in contrast how Athena is both kinda irritated and disappointed at his reaction to Polites' philosophy omh
5. Let's once more just ADMIRE THE ARTSTYLE
5.1 AND THE HANDS
5.2 AND ALL THE DESIGNS AND THE FACT THAT THEY LOOK LIKE THEIR ACTORS
so uhh mircsy in conclusion this animatic is so good I can't express this enough I am just in love marry me pls
I get the rings LMAO👀
Okay 👀💅
:D !!!
Wings are just hot 🤷
Interestingly enough, a lot of people forget Odysseus has a large scar on one of his calves, and he got the scar from his fight with that boar.
I loved every second of this
The way that you made his soul crawl OUT of his body INTO the vision instead of just having him see a vision please I am OBSESSED-
I love how you depicted Odysseus’s growth alongside Athena’s influence. A child eager to take on a challenge with his friends, to a skilled fighter and king, to a man hardened by war and loss. I loved seeing little Ody protect little Polites and seeing how much he cares for his friends, and that part is especially gutting knowing how the rest of the story plays out.
Love how you included Odysseus' dog at 3:03. I really hope he gets a better end in the musical than in the original :)
Though to be fair, the pup was at least 20 years old, so I’m surprised that that it lived long enough to see Odysseus again, after he left for war.
unfortunately, Jorge said that in Telemachus' song "Legendary" he wanted the dog to be seen in an animatic marching along with him as he sings and then he never wants to see it again after that lol
his own words
This was great, the mask falling, Athena grabbing Odysseus’ tattoo at the end, the credits, the style, and much more. Thanks for putting the time in this.
"If he isnt allowed to love then he is no longer a warrior, but a slave"
… welp, I’m saving this
2:40 this is literally my favourite part and noone can change my mind
I don’t know why, but I think you have extensive Athena knowledge. What is quick thought?
2:25 I think I feel in love with a drawing ❤
Odysseus: Athena! (Athena!) Badass 💃SEÑORITA✨️
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love the way you portrayed Athena as being a part of Odysseus rather than being a physical person. It really shows how much power she has
Okay, fun little detail about this song: Odysseus never actually revealed his name to Athena in the flashbacks. This makes a lot of sense, because this takes place before the Troy Saga, before “The Odyssey”.
The name “Odysseus” can translate to mean ‘To be wroth against, to hate’ or ‘to lament’ or ‘to be lost’ depending on which source you’re using. (Nowadays it can just mean a lost traveler.)
Because he hasn’t gone on his journey yet, he hasn’t experienced hatred or loss yet, and therefore he doesn’t reveal his name.
I love the fact that you made Polites and Eurylochus friends with Odysseus when he was younger
It's so cuuuttteeee I can't😢❤😊
AAAA THE TRIO AS CHILDREN I CAN'T IT'S SO CUTE
I loved this so much, specially your design for Athena, she looks beautiful
I loved every single second of it. Please please do the rest of the saga. I would love to see your design of "Survive" and "My Goodbye". The astral body idea is such a great idea man. Loved your work. Keep at it 👍
Both of those hit so hard, this artist is amazing.
The way he says "you're ATHENA" lives free rent on my head
The stick figure battle plans killed me. amazing!
Idk if this is intended but i *LOVE* the "your light" reference at 1:25 when Oddyseus said "you tried to move but your muscles wouldn't give" then Polites said "but then you jumped right in his way you forced the boar down and saved the day"
it is yeah, I love that song a lot so I had to refrence it☺️
omg I love it!
This is AMAZING!!!! I got literal chills when he pointed to Athena and she was unmasked! Absolutely genius, well done! ❤️
Why is her owl firm at 2:55 SO cute?
That Owl flying scene!
Magestic!
And him saving Polites!
Best friends
WHREE DO I EVEN START
All of Odysseus child scenes especially the sparkle laugh
Athena power poses and the possessive holdings on Odysseus scenes gave me chills omg
1:30
the thing i like about this scene is that Odysseus looks towards Athena in curiosity, but then pays attention to the ball thrown by his friends. this is foreshadowing their rift and what causes it. how Odysseus cares more about the people around him and his human side then Athena and her guidance
I JUST REALIZED DAT OPEN ARMS ENDING RELATED WITH THE BEGINNING OF THIS SONG MAIGASHH..HOW CAN I JUST DISCOVER IT NOWWWW HABDJAHDHSJJXJS
I can't describe well, it but the mood of this made it feel like Odysseus's genuine respect for Athena, not only as a mentor but as a friend, was met unrequited since through the beginning and end there was a sense of coldness from her even considering she practically raised him...it's such a lonely feeling...
OMG, OMG AND OMG!!! THE AMOUNT OF THOUGHT AND EFFORT U PUT INTO ATHENA AND YOUNG ODYSSEUS IS INCREDIBLE!!!
DUDE. this is the best animatic ive ever seen, hands down. its so gorgeous, full of life and character im in love. i love how you envision Athena!! ive never seen her depicted with wings (her turning into her symbol as the owl was SO smooth uhm hello??) but this makes so much sense to me. im flabbergasted, shook and in awe. you're crazy skilled💗😭
Him standing on the tree trunk walking beside her is perfect imagery. Well done.
Gods this Athena design is so beautiful, I'm doomed.
Aw, I'm glad I'm not the only one who pictured Athena pausing time during this song! This is so well done, I love her design!
oh my god this was PERFECTION!! i can 100% see the vision behind it and imagine what it would look like as a full animation, but honestly as an animatic it's gorgeously stylized and just EVERYTHING this song should be! it totally enhances the source material, not to mention your art style is gorgeous and your ability to draw dynamic poses that can be interpreted as movement is beyond enviable!!! this is just SO good i'm in love :,D
PLZ SAY YOU SENT HIM THIS, HE'LL ACTUALLY DO A BACKFLIP. You did awesome. thank you for sharing. I am happy greek myth has come back into vogue in recent years. I absolutely love the stories and motifs.
Oh my goodness this was amazing!! The designs the fluidity how SMUG Odysseus looked as a kid just everything! It really scratches the itch of my current obsession
WHY DID U DRAW ATHENA SO FINELY IM AJBSUSHZ

How did I miss that
He doesn’t have one eye, he has both eyes just in the next frame his hair is covering his left one
i got jumpscared 😭
FLIPPIN’ SPECTACULAR! This was actually amazing. I love how you tied it in with Open Arms and how you did the flashbacks/time progression. I also really like how you drew Athena, especially her mask. Great job!

2:22 - 2:47 this part is SEVERELY underrated, no matter how popular it is. Best part 100%
This is my 8 year olds favourite song right now - she knows all the words and it has led to an interest in Greek mythology! Thank you
DUDE!!!! You even add polites 😢 I’m dying this is perfect
i love how you portrayed athena, as someone who studies greek mythology i get tired of people thinking of athena as an arrogant man looking female or a scrawny girl with a plain look due to stereotypes that feminine women aren't smart or good fighters, but athena was said to be a slightly muscular beautiful woman and you nailed it
i love how instead of giving her the basic warrior u gave her a mask 10/10 love this
This was amazing! I love how you did the part of how she said she designed him and how she just threw him in his flashbacks! Also the way you designed Athena really looks beautiful and strong.
This is so freaking BEAUTIFUL. Every frame is just spectacular.
As someone who has absolutely no clue what’s going on.. I love this! Like the facial expressions are amazing!! ❤
I don't normally comment on videos, but I had to let you know how much I love this! Words barely cover the surface of this talent that you bave built!! OH MY GOD! These are basically the exact images/music video my mind sees when I listen to these songs, only you are talented enough to make it real!! I'm jealous and in awe of how good the drawings are and how great the story telling is!!! Please do more!

Wow, your design of Athena is truly splendid. And Odysseus looks exactly how I imagined him!!! Very slay 🤌
Holy crap!!! The way you transitioned from catching the apple to this was incredible!
I really love the interpretation of Athena mentoring him as a kid, since he'd known her a while as an adult.
DUDE THE WAY YOU MADE ATHENAS WING AND DISGUISE AN OWL OOOOOO I LOVE IT THE WAY HER MASK FADES BRILLIANT YOUR ATHENA DESIGN IS SO GORGEOUS WOWOOWIWOWIWOW
