- As part of the recent Yamaha Guitars 'Open House Online' event, Peter Hook & The Light performed a socially distanced live version of Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'.

This song has lost none of its power after forty years. Wonderful rendition.
I have to be blunt about it; Ian Curtis was the soul of Joy Division, but without Hooky, even New Order isn't the same and it shows in their more recent live performances without him.

He subconsciously plays the bass even when he is not….. he literally can’t not not play the song even when jack has his back
Watch his eyes when he isn’t playing, his fingers still twitch and he looks at them like he has to tell them to stop
This is easily the best rendition of the song since the original recording.

just seeing this band for the first time, and when i saw Peter Hook singing I thought uh oh.. here's trouble. But wow, what a fantastic version! Great sound, great vocals, great blend.. I loved it, well done!

Hooky does a solid job singing Ian's part here. Nice! I know he's not fond of the Movement era stuff, which I adore, but I'd love for them to do Dreams Never End and Doubts Even Here.

Terrific stuff. As others have said here and on some of the other videos, Peter has really raised his game with the vocals, as if he's not having to try so hard and it really works. Brilliant version of a classic song.
