clean paintbooth = not much work. Why have they not much work? Well we can look at the blonde colour they passed as "wood effect" and the fact the painter couldn't even colour match his own work. This is not a good spray painter whatsoever so we must assume his booths clean because its usually empty

@@farmerjon_athan Yeah maybe. Hes went to yellow on the base and has clearcoated it too flat it has no patina look the colour flip is all wrong. The repair id recomend to darken it off and get it looking more like it used to is to sand back and layer up with two flow coats and over thicken the clear knowing it will darken the browns and the last flow coat shoot on thick as a orange peel coat so that adds the patina look that will match the old one. You can see the orange peel difference from old to new when he holds the rocker cover to the door quarter. Steves confused as to why the colour looks matched one minute and not the next its because the new paint is too flat it looks 2D the older one the colour flip is darker it looks more 3D at any side angles because the base is darker and the old one has heavy orange peel akin to an older Mazda or a newer BMW in darker colours its orange peel is adding the to the patina makes the old one look more realistic at an angle or in shades. I could make this look like it should and look more like it used to in maybe 5-7hr just a wind back and 2 clear flow coats.

Watched this a few times now and i like the guy and i like his body prep and fixes for your panels and most of his work. He missed the chance to fix the overly yellowed 1st stage base at the time and we do the marbeliz(s)ation process a lot different to that method you use but we are 5000 mile away in Scotland with brutal weather so thats to be expected. If theres any chance you can get him to do a flow coat job on it all at once Steve he could get the older look patina colour flip back in it and darken off the browns to give the correct shade of the darker grain and still keep the stadium happy look good but more 3D and correct to the way you had it. Easy way to match this up and fix the 2D bleached out look what i personally think looks like a RC car shell painted from the inside look by only one quick going over with Mirka scuff pad (dont flatten it further with block or paper sanding) and two flow coats. The first flow coat go on as heavy as it needs to darken the yellow/ browns, as soon as he sees it shade dropping call that the first flow coat, let that tack off and skin over and go straight on with a second flow coat to orange peel match the older finish. The older finish the peel is what we in the UK would call heavy 😂 Its what Mazda used to come like as they skimped on the base and thought hose on the clear will give it the final luster. BMW use the same tactic now on their darker colours. Its not hard to correct mate but it does need darkened off with a flow clear and the final flow coat the peel made to give it its 3d look back and its patina and general wood grain visibility from angles. Thats all i have to say really it could be matched up and have the older look back with flow coats.

Vinyl has cheapened the industry and there is just something special about air brushing That final cannot recreate. And I wish the ghost SMX logo would show up on camera because one of my first custom paint. Jobs was ghost flames on a Mark 2 golf GTI it was black with pearl ghost flames and I did it in my boss's shop without his permission.😂😂😂... Luckily for me he was impressed and didn't press charges for using the paint. Although I did pay him back for the materials........ And they cost way more than expected even 20 years ago.😂. Anyway, thinking about that car. I'm Going Out to the shop to finish it. one for working in the wrap industry for 5 years now. You can absolutely achieve a real wood grain and have it actually look real or as real as paint. If what you saw looked hazy or even fuzzy. No to knock on anyone here, but whoever you were going through to get it? Did things half assed OR just simply don't have the capabilities to achieve that real wood grain look. We've done wood grain at my shop on several occasions, and it's always turned out great! Massive fan Mr. Morris! Cheers!

Use a heat gun or hair dryer around dowel pins. I use it on my procharger gear drive and procharger itself. Works like a charm.
