The story of how the Kings of RLCS got dethroned...

- This is the story of how Team BDS had one of the most dominant seasons in RLCS history and still lost the championship. Many people in Europe and in North America as well consider or considered them to be the best team in the world. This is their story so far.

Team BDS could be the best Rocket League team in the world. Based on their performance within their own region, they are undoubted the best team in Europe. The only question is how they would perform in a LAN environment. NONE of the players on BDS have ANY experience competing at a LAN, and with the pressure of a screaming crowd and being in person with your teammates, opponents, and peers, you never know how that will effect a team until you actually see them compete during all of it. This is why many other people consider NRG to be the best in the world because all 3 of their players already have a TON of experience in LAN competitions and are already known to compete just as good, if not better at them.

So good to see them prove themselves on LAN
@Wayne Animations not really it was a game 7 win, so I don’t think it’s exactly fair to say destroyed
@@RandomSh1 it was an 8-4 win, the first series NRG actually got destroyed
@@legallyblind619 what are you talking about? The individual match scores don’t matter
That was a fun video.
I think one important factor are the fans. I personally dont like to say that any team (since covid) has proven themselves to be a true top team, because they cant prove it.
Playing in front of a huge crowd is something completely different and I think a lot of fans will be surprised when some teams that seem strong will completely flop when the crowd is coming back
Totally true

This all goes to show that the regular season doesn't matter just like in NBA basketball. Some teams can perform really well in the regular season and be eliminated in the first round while other teams may have a mediocre season and excel in the playoffs leading to championships.
Won 11 times against a team and only lost in the finals damn that’s depressing lmao
11-1 before the finals. They got swept in regional 3 first split semi final. 11-2 record now
@@xhadian4513 11-3

@@brennanq9625 just like this season, Jazz got knocked out by the Clippers which I never expected, more so in the hands of Mann, if you're great at the regular season, you gotta prove it where it matters most and Jazz bottled it in the semis

Great video, you explained really well why BDS was so amazing, and how incredible was for Vitality to be the one not to crumble under the preassure, when BDS had won 15 out of 15 grand finals. BDS is trully the most dominant team at a regional level we have ever seen, and with that win, Kaydop has reclaimed his GOAT status for me. 2 small things: the first F3 also dominated the world, but there where no LANs, it was all online. Dig is not the only team in rocket league history to be considered the best in the world, or top 2, for almost a year. And Dig had internal issues before the finals began, Kaydop wanted to go before that double 4-1. Even if we like to think that C9 completely ended the dinasty, in truth they where already finished
I just wanted to thank you Wayton, not sure you're gonna read this.
I literally started playing rocket league just a month ago. But just from watching most of your key videos, I literally got placed plat first, and then after 2.5 weeks of more playing, I just hit Diamond today.
I have practically 0 mechanics, I hit the ball consistently, but not consistently accurately/powerful (and my wall shots do not exist). But yet just purely with my positioning and rotating properly, i somehow managed to win always more games than I lost, even though I am mechanically mostly behind others. But just my positioning alone and your video on backpost defending brought me to diamond in my opinion.
So with just around 80 hours I hit that, because of the short cut you gave me, so thank you.
But anything from this point on is definitely going to head in the hundreds/thousands of hours. I will probably be Diamond for quite a while now, but Im stoked to have hit it in my very first season :)
Thank you again, your videos are incredible and you have a very concise mind and the way you explain things.
Congrats dude, Goodluck
And then there is me who is doing with 1.5k hours
I think bds just got super nervous, aside from extra, Marc and monkey were missing easy hits and couldn’t hit open nets but will just have to see how they perform in season 11
Yeah they didn’t have any kind of experience in the european championship final and well vitality had a lot of experience.
@@thund3r94 They literally did almost no mistake during a WHOLE year. They even 11-1 Vitality which is arguably one of the best team in the world. I feel like they had SO MUCH MORE pressure on them (since everyone thought it was going to be a no-match), than any other team (aside from Dig a the time) that they eventually couldnt handle it, which is kinda sad. But this will certainly covers their lack of experience i believe. Hope to see them performing as well in the future
S4*
@@NoblesseOblige1403 in esport, The importance are the team force. Bds dont have this, theyre angry with them when marc miss a ball for exemple. But vitality dont have this problem, that a proof that vitality are the best.
@@ixsou4523 I don’t think so. BDS decimated them all season. They really can’t take away that from one bad day regardless of the championship

This video looks like one of the older Sunless videos and that is the reason I love it so much. great job
Thanks for the catch up on the scene, keep up the great content.
As soon as I saw that Vitality was in a team house with professional staff behind them supporting and BDS was just in their own bedrooms, I knew that Kadop and the crew were going to show up big. I expected that result and I would expect the same at a LAN.
Umm…how do I break this to ya?
@@hellohi1445 hehehe
The answer was BDS were just that good, winning the first split major and then winning the final event. NA fanboys take a bow.
They just became the new world champions, well came back To this video
When you realize vitality was the main character all along
My only complaint is that there was no mention that Vitality not only beat BDS but they did it in a BEST OF SET so there was no debate as to whether they deserved that win
its funny cuz my dad always says " oh blah blah blah wins 9/10" but that one time could happen anytime" and well there it is
They picked a perfect song for the winning moment and Wayton… this is an amazing video. Very well done.

awesome video! i had totally missed what was going on in EU the last year in covid so this is very helpful 🙂
It was the pressure of the finals as well as Kaydop, he really showed up.
They all played well to be fair. Fairypeak just being consistent as ever and Alpha54 scoring pre-flips and double taps like it's nothing. And of course Kaydop being Kaydop.
Nah I think people forgetting how bad Marc played. It started with the horrid miss in the midfield
I can't tell you how much I love this video, the whole video I was smiling. BDS has been my favourite team since I started playing rocket league and I am still fully behind them. Thanks for this great video♥

People are saying they're great but lack experience, so just imagine what they'll do with experience.

How did you forget to mention the tryout of Extra in the Eurocup 10K which they won...??
I think it’s pretty interesting how a video game can evolve to be played differently based on its location
That's what I think as well, I'm OCE and not many people here are the more higher ranks due to population. Because of that I queue NA servers and the guys I verse there are just different in their playstyle but it's hard to explain in what way exactly.
cant wait for next lan :D
Its so impressive, man. Keep goin
You know BDS are great and all but when it all mattered they lost the championship grand final against vitality yeah they are good but they lack the experience that kaydop or fairy peak!
Yeah, experience = innate ability to stay calmer and more focused under pressure then your opponent. This is why LANs are such an important part of the Esports scene.
They will use this lose in a good way and let's be honest vitality wasn't good in that final they just scored open nets from unexpected misses/double commits.
Yeah sure... When BDS win they are just better but when vitality wins BDS just missed. So biased....
@@martingarrox5810 i mean they beat them 11-1 so its not really biased it just shows they played utterly terrible its there first finals they were probably nervous as hell

EU just destroyed NA so that answers your question
you mean, BDS destroyed NA. If you're looking at the regions as a whole, there were 4 EU and 3 NA teams in the top 8, so I wouldn't say EU destroyed NA, though they did have a slight edge this season.
