Decent af ad, but I don't think axe realizes a good chunk of people don't like axe solely because of smell, but because it attracts people who think its a substitute for a shower

Axe is so lacking in self awareness with this. No one hated the general smell of Axe body spray when used in moderation. We all hated the fact that people used too much of it at once. It was unanimously used by teenage boys that put it on so thick you couldn’t smell their B.O. Unfortunately, that meant chemical warfare using Axe. Think about it, if someone covered themselves in febreze to the point where they filled a room with that smell, then they’d be avoided like the plague as well.
Whoever created the idea of this ad and produced it better get a raise before a competitor snatches them up. This is how you do a rebrand - you tell a compelling STORY!!! It also helps that most people who went to high school in the U.S. have a memory of AXE, as a user or the experience of being nearly suffocated by someone wearing it, so it makes the thought of a rebrand so much more intriguing. Great job AXE!!
As many have said, this is great advertising and it definitely succeeded in changing my perception of Axe as a brand. I went to the store and got a canister of each of the 5 body sprays in the Fine Fragrance Collection. What follows is my brief review/ranking of each. 1) Golden Mango narrowly edges out Blue Lavender as my favorite, but it's a tough choice. Very sweet, warm and citrus-y. Interesting, complex, tropical yet masculine. Better suited to playful occasions than serious ones, but I like it enough that I'd wear it regardless. 2) Blue Lavender smells sweet like candy to me... but in a very good way. This will likely be the most popular of the five, since they marketed it so well. With both this fragrance and the above, I find myself compulsively sniffing myself... is that bad? 3) Green Geranium is refined and floral. I like it, but it's a step down from the top two. Probably the best of the bunch for a business setting FWIW. This fragrance and those to follow are more subtle than the first two. 4) Aqua Bergamot seems like more of a deodorant than a cologne, relative to the others. It smells very much like laundry to me. Its clean scent might be useful for freshening up if you're dirty (post-workout?), but for Pete's sake practice good hygiene. 5) Pure Coconut smells like... well... coconut. It does what it says on the tin. If you or your s/o like coconut, give it a try. Coconut is a bit of a girlish scent for my tastes, but YMMV. I'm going to a Hawaiian-themed party in a few weeks, so maybe it'll find a use. Maybe.
Honestly I'm gonna have to admit, I was going to skip the ad, but the person who does the commentary got me to stay, props to the person doing the commentary and props for making a good product!

Ngl Axe has been doing very well on their fragrences quite recently. My friend got some body spray from the store and I asked him what it was because it smelled really good.
