this is actually one of my favorite games of all time, so underated simply because its a movie based game. its also more frightening than alot of horror games. deserves a reboot focused solely on the creatures of skull island and not just kong with an online survival mode.
+Daniel Luna Me! My brother came to my house today and he told me one of his pupils gave him a lot of PS2 games as a gift. He brought some of them for me, King Kong included :D
This is one of the few games I've played where the game world genuinely felt dangerous. I really miss this game. I'd love to see a new Far Cry-style open world game set on Skull Island at some point in the future.
This game, was so good I remember replaying the King Kong parts over and over and over. Getting up extra early to get some early hours of game time, this game was the best movie game I ever played. I remember how hard the velociraptors are, I would get stuck on those parts but I loved it
+J- Rich playing king kong on my old PS2 whilst im finishing this years uni work, then gunna reward my self with my 2nd playthrough of isolation in a week when ive finished
+coldberserk well horror is hard to pull off because 1. Fear is subjective so something that scares one player won't scare other players and 2. It's hard to create the atmosphere horror films like poltergeist (the original) the aliens franchise, Texas chainsaw massacre and other films have had and put it into a video game format. But when games get it right they get it right
J- Rich Still have to play that one. Heard quite a lot of good things about it, even from ppl who usually don't enjoy these point and click adventure games.
This is one of the best most realistic fiction survival games I've ever played. I hope a skull island verson comes out with the same type of gameplay with more hours.
I played this game SOOOOO much when I was 4 with my dad. Of course, He just watched unless if a part was too confusing for me. One of the most underrated movie games. If you haven't played, by it for 8.99 at gamestop. worth every penny. Just go. no. buy it. just...just...GO! if you like it, like this. if you don't dislike this. WHAT ARE YOU STILL WAITING FOR!!?? ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Fine -_-
I absolutely loved this game. Compared to other adventure based games, this one felt like an actual strenuous and long journey. All the locations felt unique and scary as you were really in uncharted territory. When you keep track of your ammo by having the character announce it out loud (instead of on the HUD), that was awesome too. Too bad majority of games nowadays are open world.
For years, I thought this game was developed by Bethesda. Only because of the visuals, it looked a lot like The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion and Fallout 3. Only most recent, do I found out it was made by Ubisoft.
I remember seeing the movie in theaters, and then saw there was a game. I rented it for the PS2. I remember thinking how amazing the graphics, sound, and everything was. Definitely one of the best license games out there.
The movie is one of my all time favorites, but the game was the shit on original Xbox, didn't even find out it was on 360 till a little while ago. Got it for 360 and now I play it all the time, because its that awesome.
I am a COD fan myself, so i wasn't hating, nor was i giving you a hard time, it's just a lot of cod fans bad mouth most other games, that aren't cod, and any time there is a game that's similar they just asume the game ripped off call of duty. I was just saying that as a joke, i'm not dissing because like i said i'm a cod fan. Sorry for the bad grammar. :)
I think they should make a sequel set during World War 2...it could loosely follow the plot of Son of Kong and play more like Far Cry 3...we could still play as Jack and there could maybe even be Nazi enemies trying to uncover the secrets of Skull Island all while the island tears itself apart...anyway, I think that'd be cool.
Finished this game 4 times when I was like 9 yrs old. This game scared the shit out of me!
i was always scared of the t rex mission
+Seth Bean Same man I remember just getting my PS2 and that being the only game I had.
+niko holico I was afraid when you first go against the dinosaur that attacks Carl.
it is indeed scray as heck
+Seth Bean only 4? pff not to brag but i remember playing this like and beating it 40 times since i was 7. ya i know, i need a life.
It would be amazing if Ubisoft could remaster this game for PS4 and Xbox One
Gerard Bravo or a different company doing some sort of spititual succecer
Gerard Bravo right?! With it being so short, hell they can remaster it with moddern game graphics and save money making I think.
I don't think they have the licence to the game anymore. So the Film Studio has to basically relicence and give permission to release it
Gerard Bravo omfg yes
It's backwards compatible on Xbox one
this game and Spider-Man 2 are the BEST movie to game adaptation.
PapiDarko the godfather too
Elli don't forget about the warriors
And don't forget about 'SpongeBob SquarePants The Movie' game.
Platinum 230 dont forget reservoir dogs
dont forget lord of the rings the two towers
I'm surprised to see so many 2016 comments! It makes me happy to see this game has a strong following
Same. Helps that it remains one of the best movie based games
It completely blew me away back then, and to this day it shines as one of the best movie games I've ever played
Always loved the atmosphere in this game.
One of the only good movie licensed games out there.
Ubisoft..... Also made the Simpsons Hit and Rum. That was the shit.
+AgeOfMasks The Two Towers and Return of the King were also excellent.
+Fabricio Garcia must be something about Peter Jackson then
Jack Lame He helped with the development of the games, so that's probably it
That's my exact thoughts.
This was the first atmospheric game I played growing up, and I didn't even realize it at the time. I just loved it and it scared the bajesus outta me
Same here, it freaked me out at first but over time it gave me a deep appreciation for games with a darker atmosphere, like Demon's Souls.
Remember the t-rex segments? they were terrifying
this is actually one of my favorite games of all time, so underated simply because its a movie based game. its also more frightening than alot of horror games. deserves a reboot focused solely on the creatures of skull island and not just kong with an online survival mode.
Remember this game on my PS2.. man was it awesome lol..
Same
Needs a remaster...
no remake
HorseBizcuit Yeah don’t say
THIS GAME = CHILDHOOD.
"2 bullets on back up"
"Its ok, I've got plenty of magazines"
"I'm dry"
James Tyler Two magazines on back up
Wyatt Daniel It’s it’s OK I got enough magazines
One of the best PS2 games, ahead of its time. No hud, no tutorial and pure storytelling.
Favorite game growing up. One of my fav games of all time.
Who's here 2016

+Daniel Luna me my childhood game. First as well.
+Daniel Luna Me! My brother came to my house today and he told me one of his pupils gave him a lot of PS2 games as a gift. He brought some of them for me, King Kong included :D

You can actually play it on PC if you get the emulator called Dolphin.
... or dowload the pc version.
This game, was so good I remember replaying the King Kong parts over and over and over. Getting up extra early to get some early hours of game time, this game was the best movie game I ever played. I remember how hard the velociraptors are, I would get stuck on those parts but I loved it
I didnt play all the movie based games i dont think anyone did but from all the movie based games i've played this is the best one
you damn right it is
oteibi a.k wow did you play it before?
BadAssMacmillan yah i did , it was really amazing .. i played it for weeks
You're goddamn right.
I agree 100%
i still play this game.
Just rebought this on game cube cant wait to relive some great memories
The game that got me into survival horror type games.....alien isolation dead space etc...
+J- Rich playing king kong on my old PS2 whilst im finishing this years uni work, then gunna reward my self with my 2nd playthrough of isolation in a week when ive finished
Me too. Shame we get so few good survival horror games these days :/

true they really arent and many really great games get overlooked and many people don't know about them like the game life is strange.
J- Rich
Still have to play that one. Heard quite a lot of good things about it, even from ppl who usually don't enjoy these point and click adventure games.
This game was a Masterpiece in any aspect of a videogame!
Bringing back those childhood memories
*sigh* A childhood PS2 favorite :) So sad that I won't be able to play it aga...wait, It's on Xbox 360? BRB GOTTA GO.
I beat this game when Justin TImberlake hosted the nickelodeon awards
My family won this game for free and I was in love with it when it came out! I want to find it again!
i remember when i was 6 years old playing this game on my ps2 and its so fun xD
Who's here in 2019 for great memories 😍
This is one of the best most realistic fiction survival games I've ever played. I hope a skull island verson comes out with the same type of gameplay with more hours.
lol i used to think that this was the most realistic looking game ever
Childhood.
this game was my childhood. I went to to see the movie 5 times
This was my first video game ever! :)
Such great memories!!
This is one of the few games that legit scared the shit out of me. Don't know if I could play it today without pissing my pants.
Same! I couldn't get past the first v rex section!
I played the shit out of this game when I was a kid, I will always remember that I beat it at 3 in the morning haha
This was the first game from a first person perspective that I had ever played.
I need to pick this game up again this game was a truly immersive and terrifying experience. LOVE IT!!!
I wish this game was longer.
Kiran Jha same I love you
King Kong had a mean ass bitch slap
The game actually did have a HUD. Showed us how many bullets. I played it on PS2.
On default u dont have a HUD but you can turn it on in the options menu, so you probably did that.
I remember playing this with my homie and thinking i was ahead of myself hahaha like it was too mature for me. Fuckin loved it
There is a hud system you just need to turn it on in the options menu
I played this game SOOOOO much when I was 4 with my dad. Of course, He just watched unless if a part was too confusing for me. One of the most underrated movie games. PLEASE REMASTER THIS GAME!!!!!!!! It's easily the best movie-based video game ever!!!!!!
Anyone here in 2017? I loved this game when I was a kid. I had to revisit it.
Got the deluxe PC edition right here that I bought in elementary school. The memories!
the king sections on this game were fucking badass
I had this on ps2 since it came out, and loved it to bits. Recently bought it on 360 after looking for it for years, was not disappointed!
I want a spiritual successor with its survival horror control scheme.
I was so little when I played this... I couldn't make it past the raptor part... Stupid raptors.
Clever girl
what?
Yes, that was a rough part.
Who else dropped a brick when they 1st saw the v rex? No? Oh well...
They should give this game an HD remaster on next GEN to celebrate the new movie and because this is one of my favorite video games of all time.
This game was and is one of my all time favorite adventure FPS games. It had a great story and fun gameplay!
its only a 6 hour game wow. I remember when i was a kid this game took me forever to beat.
Same
those damn freaky dinosaurs.. oddly great game
Did he just say that he beat it in 6 hours? WHAT DID HE PLAY IT ON EASY OR SOMETHING???
I know, right?! It literally took my brother and I at least 2 weeks or more to beat it. I think he means 6 hours once become pro.
childhood memories ❤ this game is still one of my favourites of all time
This game was one of the rare movie-games that were actualy preety good.
I absolutely loved this game. Compared to other adventure based games, this one felt like an actual strenuous and long journey. All the locations felt unique and scary as you were really in uncharted territory. When you keep track of your ammo by having the character announce it out loud (instead of on the HUD), that was awesome too. Too bad majority of games nowadays are open world.
that fukin part when the t-rex shows up and tries to catch you
scared the shit out of me when I was younger
i remember when i was 5 and i played this game oh the good times
Such a great game
One thing I hated about this game is that you would literally do everything while all the NPC’s would do nothing and constantly nag you
I loved this game when I was young been ten years since I've played it just bought it again
warren croft I just found a copy and will be buying it again also!
Exactly the same as me. It was the sounds those giant centipedes made, it still gives me chills to this day.
Still excellent movie game...Still playing it.
After XIII I'm surprised people still begging for remakes.
Geez why are you put down the brightness so low Ign
the scariest thing in the game is the vastatosaurus-rex (the t-rex)
when you play as jack, its scary as hell
It was also on GameCube. And still fun as hell
For years, I thought this game was developed by Bethesda. Only because of the visuals, it looked a lot like The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion and Fallout 3. Only most recent, do I found out it was made by Ubisoft.

It was scary playing this game at 7 years old. I was too scared to finish the game lol
This is and will probably be the only best movie game ever.
Brings back memories
This is my favorite first person game of last gen!
Great game, worth playing, even today.
Literally just bought this off the dashboard for £8.99 love it
The movie is one of my all time favorites, but the game was the shit on original Xbox, didn't even find out it was on 360 till a little while ago. Got it for 360 and now I play it all the time, because its that awesome.
I highly recommend it. You should be able to pick it up very cheap now!
The darkest review ever...
When i was 6 i raptor scared me and I threw the controller away
MY CHILDHOOD good times 😭
OH AM DRYYYYY! NO BULLETS LEFT ON BACK UP!
Just started to play this game again. Wish there would be a modern sequel to this game. Check out my walkthrough videos if interested :)
The raptors used to scare me when I was like 7 years old
The Damien Clan Is Real sameee
This game needs to be backwards compatable on the Xbox One, RIGHT NOW!!
I'm here 2016 don't ask is the game good YES!!! PLAYED BACK WHEN IT FIRST LAUNCHED
I am a COD fan myself, so i wasn't hating, nor was i giving you a hard time, it's just a lot of cod fans bad mouth most other games, that aren't cod, and any time there is a game that's similar they just asume the game ripped off call of duty. one of the best games ive ever played
One of the few good movie games
this game released in same time for ps2,xbox1,game cube, xbox 360.
How come this review just came out? This game was released a long time ago.(I bought this game when it first came out for ps2.
30-01-2018.
They should remaster for Xbox one and PS4

Best movie game ever
I still have this game for Ps2 it was great, but now I play on Ps3.
There is an option to turn on the HUD in the settings
this game came originally to ps2 and they made another version for xbox and ps3
