ROGER FISHER here... really appreciate what you guys do, thanks! Clarification: Heart was always about the democratic innovation among the musicians. We tried every idea put on the table, and each person's unique style caused a certain chemical reaction when combined, THAT WAS HEART. I appreciate you using my name so much, but it was really Howie, Nance, Foz and I working together that created the MAGIC. Keep it alive, gents... KEEP IT ALIVE!

Hi Roger! Great to see you responding to these two guys, among the millions of other people who love the music of Heart. And may I say, along with Cars, Elliott Easton, you are one of the most underrated guitarists ever. I love hearing you play on all these great songs, and our two friends here definitely love your work! Hope you’re keeping well in these difficult times!

What an honour guys to get a response from the great Roger Fisher! Wow!
One of my favourite young female drummers, Sina, the lass from Germany, once got a response from Alan Gratzer, the drummer of REO Speedwagon fame, after Sina did a brilliant job covering Roll With The Changes, so he had actually watched her do this and was very complimentary towards her! She is a fantastic drummer, covering ridiculously difficult songs on drums like Roundabout and Firth Of Fifth! She is that good! Check her out.

Ann Wilson actually did write this from experience. They were on the road so much in the early days, and her mom was on the phone asking her to come home. Ann was in love with and eventually married to one of the band members. Nancy was married to another band member. Eventually, both marriages broke up.

@@PK1971PK I agree, but they might not be able to see how legendary the song is yet, and I think they've been trying to stay away from S recently, since there were a lot in the beginning and it was starting to seem like they were gushing over everything.

@@MichaelPhillipsatGreyOwlStudio Mike is not on this track. The drums are played by Dave Wilson (no relation to the women AFAIK). All the drummers were session players on this album, including Mike, who did play on two tracks - "White Lighting and Wine" and "Sing Child". He, and Howard Leese only became full-time members after this album was done.

Some more excellent hard rocking songs from Heart are "Straight On", "Heartless", "Kick It Out", and "Even It Up". On the lighter side you have "Dog and Butterfly" and "Dreamboat Annie". You might want to go for something lighter, like "Dog and Butterfly", just to get a sense of the versatility of the group. They could kill it just as well with 'soft rock'. The vocals on "Dog and Butterfly" are great.

Roger plays electric lead, Nancy plays acoustic and electric rhythm, Howard plays mostly electric rhythm and sometimes dual leads with Roger. All three of them are INCREDIBLE! But you NEED to explore Nancy's incredible acoustic playing a lot more.

Their channel used to be pretty cool and they were doing a lot of great deep tracks. For someone reason that all stopped for the most part. Now it's just like one deep track every 3 months or so, and the rest are songs you'd find on the type of collection I just mentioned. Guys, this is one instance where you have to listen to the whole album, Dreamboat Annie(1976), their debut and arguably one of the best debuts of all time(even though Boston's is hard to beat) to realize how great a singer Ann Wilson is. Besides the songs, lyrics and musicianship on this album, the highlight is Wilson's voice. The 10 songs here range from hard rockers(Bangers, a term that I don't personally care for) like Magic Man, Crazy On You, White Lightning & Wine and Sing Child to soft, mellow songs. Songs like How Deep It Goes, (Love Me Like Music) I'll Be Your Song and Soul Of The Sea, not to mention the 3 part Dreamboat Annie. This album is like a clinic for vocalists and Roger Fisher's electric and Nancy Wilson's acoustic guitars are exceptional and raise it to a even higher level.

It might be the best song in their entire catalog which is saying something. Roger Fisher's guitar work and riffing is at it's peak, Nancy's acousic is incredible, the drumming is incredible, and Ann's vocals are an absolute force of nature. Especially if you like the classic, heavy, deep, dark music you will love Mistral Wind.
