This is basically Hyunjin dismantling his “prince” title. Since he has a pretty face, others often disregard his hard work and talent. Throughout the video, we barely ever see his full face, and when we do it’s always obscured by the shadows or his hair, or it’s a reflection in the mirror. At the beginning he started with this “princely” getup, then we see him throwing his cape away, and his shirt buttons come loose. Bit by bit, he unravels that “prince” persona and forces you to see him only as Hyunjin. He forces you to disregard the beauty of his face and instead focus on the beauty of his performance and artistic intent. He truly is one of a kind.
You should watch his fancam of Psycho. He is elegant in that video as well.

Hyunjin only choregraphed the Play with Fire and When the Party's Over dances.
The Artist of the Month dance to Post Malone's song, Motley Crew, was choreo'ed by someone else.
This is his comeback performance. He said that this is a gift for all the fans cause he wants to return their love during his hiatus ❣️

They are a chance for Stray Kids to express their individual or smaller group concepts that might not otherwise be performed publicly. "Players" have videos and "Records" are audio only. They can be original content or covers. We ( Stay) feel like they are gifts to us and that they allow us to see another side to SKZ.
Fyi, the tying of the hair is his well known trademark of him which people are copying a lot this days. The clips of him doing only that get millions of view. So yeah..it's kinda symbolic, to him & his fans too.
Every moves, song selection, facial expressions are unique to only him.
this performance will always be special for our fandom. after everything that happened and his hiatus, he put his ALL in this. he announced his return in such a beautiful and powerful way! made us very proud! thank you for the reaction!

I might be over analizing this but this is my catch on this piece of art:
Did y'all notice the oufit that Hyunjin uses when he comes in? It's almost like a prince-esque type of look and most of princes in history are associated with what? Beauty. The image. Hence the mirror Hyunjin was looking while pulling his hair and tying it back with a ribbon - white ribbon (this is important). Most of the times KPOP idols have this "image" of beauty that they must keep and that keeps the people from seeing the true talent of the majority of these people - Hyunjin included.
Then the chorus hits "I've always like to play with fire".. Hyunjin isn't known for being a melodical dancer, he's hard hitting and every move is crisp and sharp, burining up the stage but, at the same time, he's playing with us, slowing down some of his moves before hitting the sharp parts again, he's playing with us, like a match that's about to be lit. And did you notice another thing? The mirror is gone. Hyunjin isn't playing by the standarts anymore, he's not the "pattern" that people put him to be, he's not that same image, he's different, more mature.
One other thing: 1:40 - 2:05 (on this video). He's not dancing to any beat, hence why there's no music, only small crackling sounds - fire burning. Hyunjin is playing again like the burning match being lit, when it catches that first grasp of power, then it crackles, then it comes back full force.
The white rose represents peace but, in some places, it's a symbol of being reborn.. of letting the time pass and heal the wounds so you can come back even harder, like a raging fire. And the white ribbon that I talked about earlier? Peace and rebirth within yourself. Hyunjin had the hiatus to focus on himself despite the troubles and to come back even stronger and harder like on this video.
By the end.. the prince of the beginning is gone, he's in peace within himself and he became the Hyunjin that us stays know and love: The talented dancer, the incredible rapper and singer, the all rounder.. but also, the human. Hyunjin played with fire and it cleansed him and now he's better than ever.
Again, this might be over analizing.. #welcomebackHyunjin.
I have read so many different theories about Hyunjin's performance and I don't know why, but they all make sense, when you look at it from the commenter's point of view 😊
I love your analysis of Hyunjin's dance, I always like to see how professional dancers react 😊 You also reacted favorably to Hyunjin's dance to Billie Eilish's song "When the Party's Over" a year ago, I don't know if you remember that? He also choreographed that dance, same as with this one. I wish you could also react to Hyunjin's "Psycho" fancam, where he performed with 3 other friends fr different boy groups. This Psycho fancam alone of his has had over 7M views! And pls pls could you also do a reaction video to Stray Kids' 2020 MAMA performance? Hyunjin is a main dancer of Stray Kids.
