    This is what’s killing the second hand guitar market. I love it.

      is yours also brownish like in this video or black black ? and when you split coil on high gain channel, does the hum noise increase?

    I had the chance to compare 3 different PRS SE CE Standard Satins (damn, what a long-ass name!), one in each color. All 3 were amazingly consistent as regards to weight, action, playability, neck feel, etc. And by "consistent" I mean consistently much better than average. This is something every guitar player can appreciate, but it's all the more important for novices, who may not be entirely sure what "good" is in a guitar or how to adjust one properly. This is a $500 guitar you can tune and play right out of the box, as opposed to others that require an extra $250 in mods and setup to reach higher-end standards of playability. This isn't a guitar I need to add to my collection, but if I didn't already have something as good or better I'd snap one of these up in a minute.

    I was at my local guitar shop today just looking around and testing guitars. When I played this I fell in love. I flipped the price tag and saw $499 and got it. I've been playing it all day today. Amazing guitar for a great price.

    Bought one after month of deciding. Love it! I am not an aficionado but at the price for the style, quality, versaltility you get it is tough to find a guitar let alone a PRS for this price. I love the look of the charcoal too

    Very cool, B! I have heard the initial shipments have had some quality issues. I'm curious to see if that was just a little growing pain. I appreciate your opinion on them. I agree with you on a great working guitar with smooth, clean frets, good pick ups, and tuners. I don't care much for the ornate stuff. I like versatility.

      It’s pretty good. The three way was a touch stiff but I’m not sure that’s even anything more than my imagination. I want to look at it more.
      Killer playing guitar for sure.

    Those are nice.
    Cort International Indonesia builds em.
    Cort has been making many many guitars almost identical under their own brand and many others for decades.
    It is humorous that once they put a PRS logo on a Cort product, folks rave about it.
    Most guitar buyers can barely play.
    I've been in the guitar biz for 40+ years and the whole biz iz mostly hype.
    It is a world of Stevie Wonders talking about their new telescope.🤔
    Very few buyers could even play a set if I invited up on stage. Yet they talk,talk talk and buy, buy, buy.

    • @BsMusicShopMI
      @BsMusicShopMI  5 месяцев назад

      No clue. They haven’t told dealers yet.
      I doubt it. Would be pretty hard to make in the quantities they’d need to make it make sense. Never say never tho!

  • @Relayer6a

    Action on mass produced guitars is purposely set higher to allow for some margin of error. Nuts especially are often left a little high because if you were trying to cut them perfectly and screwed up it's ruined. People don't seem to get that. That's where I think the dealer should make sure the guitar is properly setup when they sell it.

    • @BsMusicShopMI
      @BsMusicShopMI  6 месяцев назад +3

      I understand. And it makes a ton of sense. We make sure everything plays good when it goes out. Shipping guitars you have to assume it could shift when the climate changes to a different part of the world.
      Dealers also run on razor thin margins. I can see how it's hard for people to give away services. We all want the people at the counters and looking over our guitars to make a good wage as well. It's all a trade off.

    • @Relayer6a

      @@BsMusicShopMIAnd I'm sure entry level guitars like these have very little margin. That's for both the supplier and retailer.
      At least make the consumer aware the "limitations" of entree level guitars and offer them the service for a reasonable fee. Possibly a discount from what your typical setup fee would be? It could actually help build margin. And i'm not talking just truss rod and bridge height, but a real setup. How a guitar feels for me is the most important part for the player. Nothing worse than a guitar that's fighting you when you are trying to play it.

    how does this compare to custom 24 se? is it worth spending extra few hundreds on that?

    • @BsMusicShopMI
      @BsMusicShopMI  4 месяца назад

      It’s VERY similar.
      Worth is all relative. This is a great guitar. If that’s all you need, it’s here.
      If a shinier finish and a different color is your thing, that is valid too. 😺

    I love the SE line but I think the pickups are the weak link. My PRS Paul’s guitar is a great guitar but the pickups sort of suck. On the PRS site I couldn’t even buy the USA Paul’s guitar pickups which is a bummer.

      One thing about vintage guitars is we can really see the quality when the glue bonds separate, the frets fall out of the neck and the neck looks like somebody tried to wring it out.
