Just a thought boiling water however doesn't kill minerals in the water. I've noticed there are a lot of Kidney issues rising up in Ghana and it's coming from somewhere. So be careful with the tap water when I'm in Ghana I buy the big bottled water that can be chilled in the dispenser whatever u chose to do just be informed

As a scientist, boiling the water makes the water perfectly safe for drinking. But don't take my word for it. Here's the reason why:
Boiling water before drinking it makes the water safe primarily by killing or inactivating harmful microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Here's why boiling is effective:
1. Thermal Destruction of Pathogens
High Temperature: Boiling water reaches a temperature of 100°C (212°F) at sea level, which is sufficient to kill most pathogenic bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases. This high temperature breaks down the cell walls and denatures the proteins and enzymes that pathogens need to survive and reproduce.
Duration of Boiling: To ensure safety, water should be boiled for at least one minute (or three minutes at altitudes above 2,000 meters or 6,562 feet) to kill most microorganisms. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends this duration to ensure that even heat-resistant microorganisms are effectively destroyed.
2. Elimination of Protozoan Parasites
Parasites: Boiling water is particularly effective against protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. These parasites have tough outer shells that make them resistant to some disinfection methods, like chlorination. However, the heat from boiling effectively kills them.
3. Inactivation of Viruses and Bacteria
Viruses: Most waterborne viruses, including those causing diseases like hepatitis A and rotavirus, are inactivated at temperatures above 60°C (140°F), but boiling at 100°C ensures complete inactivation.
Bacteria: Many harmful bacteria, including Escherichia coli (E. coli), Salmonella, and Campylobacter, are killed at temperatures much lower than boiling. However, boiling ensures that all potential bacteria are destroyed, especially in situations where water quality is uncertain.
