    Wonder if heat treating that would close up the pores, and be able to repair tears. This channel is pure win.

      Rubber is not able to be molten and molded. It's a type of polymer called thermoset which once cured cannot be reshaped so heat treating wouldn't do much. Maybe burn the small parts of cuts to make them less visible, but otherwise nothing

    Disadvantage: hot inside the car during the summer.
    Advantage: Excellent stealth at night time.

      You're likely right about the coating but unless you covered every square inch, removed license plates, lights, reflectors, etc., I suspect it wouldn't be very exciting. Depending on the vehicle design, I'd imagine it could reduce the effective range but I doubt much more.

    GTA6 needs a G54 mod option!!! - on that note G54 should build the "ultimate Lada" using the best of all there mods... A racey engine, puncture proof tyres and indestructible rubber body!!!

    In America we have this stuff called rhinoliner that people coat their truck beds with, it's basically the same thing but sprayed on and sealed with some sort of resin or something
    I've seen a few offroad trucks coated in rhinoliner online

      Yeap. Polymer paint like Raptor. Also there is a Turkish military version of it, it adds a some sort of anti projectile armor on cars

    i knew a guy who did carpet. he did his work van in indoor/outdoor carpet. advertising his work. believe it or not, he spent a lot of time doing it. it was impressive.

    Reminds me of a time years back, a friend replaced his black vinyl roof on his old Mk4 Ford Cortina with... Roofing/shed felt for a laugh! He said, it helped with rain proofing the roof! 🤣🤣🤣

    as an undercoating and an inner coating for the trunk etc., this might be better than the materials used in cars today.

      @@mann_idonotreadrepliesDepends on what it is and where you get it. Trucks here in the USA are often bed lined with undercoating.
      My 1974 German car is factory undercoated which saved the metal under it.

    This would probably make an excellent rustproofing on the bottom of a car.
    In terms of practical use This looks like it would protect the frame really well and last a really long time.

    if there's a pt. 2 for the same car, I'd like to see if the rubber granules will prevent a 9mm bullet from piercing the car body. or if the bullet will make a dent in the metal body frame making the rubber skin make the bullet bounce off. Edit: I'd also like to see how well the rubber coating will take the heat during the summer months over in your area too.

    Lol, looks kind of cool actually! I've seen trucks and Jeeps painted with that Rhino truck bed lining material, works good for keeping scratches and scrapes away when off roading.

    We need to make roads out of trillions of used tires. That material is effectively indestructible and a dirt cheap. Perfect for making all season roads for thousands and thousands kilometers

    Maybe you are onto something that could go viral. You said its working as a sound deader. What if you do a truck cab on the inside? A trunk or the underneath a car. A headliner, firewall, pickup bed walls of your Building? Roof? Shop floor?

      Well the outside of body will certainly be warm, but I feel like the rubber would absorb the heat. It might even be cooler than just paint.. ignoring the windows as a factor m
