  • This video documents steps I've taken to replace the front right passenger side window because it is not going up all the way, although it goes down all the way. The replacement part was less than $25, and it took 1.5 hours to complete the repair.
    You can also use this video to replace the front speaker and front right passenger window.

    PERFECT VIDEO- my 18yr old daughter and I did this project ON HER '04 Highlander the day before she left for college- (she supervised and operated the video). It took us a little over an hour, but we spent a while cleaning the metal regulator of all the grime and scaleing. Awsome video. I downloaded it, and will use it for her rear window motors replacement either this winter or next summer. Thank you for the great close ups- it helped ALOT!

    @DIYLifeSkills you are a blessing! I watched this video about 3 weeks ago, ordered the same exact part from Amazon, watched the video a couple more times, and today I finally had the time to do it. Your detailed instructions made it so easy for me to get the job done. A #1 and #2 JIS crosspoint screwdriver is a perfect fit for the screws (learned it from replacing a steering switch for my 2005 Honda Odyssey). My 2002 Toyota Highlander front passenger window is working like new again. Thank you so much for the step by step video instructions that you put together. You are a very good teacher

    Probably never gonna do this myself cause it's a little too complex for me, but I enjoy your videos a lot. I have to replace my front passenger door handle on my GS cause it doesn't recognize the touch and unlock automatically. If you have anything related to changing door handle, I'd love to try it out myself before going to a mechanic.

      I forgot to reply back earlier. For GS350/350, once the battery is disconnected, one touch open and close setting is lost and you have to reset it. Here is a video on how to do that. ruclips.net/video/mqLHEGA9uP0/видео.html

    I had to replace my girlfriends pully system and motor on a 08 Expidition. I just taped the window up with gorilla tape and removed the pully system. I'm wondering if you could do that to avoid the risk of dropping the window and breaking it and just untaping it and lowering it and tightening the 10mm bolts when it's down.

      Actually I think that’s a pretty good idea to not let glass slip on your hand.

    If you were to do this again and purchase your own parts would you have done the whole assembly or just the motor?

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  3 дня назад

      @@kakusei3672I’m not sure they sell just the motor. This replacement part was pretty cheap like under $30. I would replace the whole actuator like I did

      @kakusei3672 3 дня назад

      @@DIYLifeSkills In the video, you just swapped motors. You had mentioned someone gave you just the motor haha. The price of the motor is similar to the whole regulator with motor. Wondering if there's any benifit to keeping the oem regulator and just adding a new motor.

      @DIYLifeSkills  3 дня назад

      @@kakusei3672 Yeah my immediate neighbor that sold me the car had already bought for like $28. I would replace this part. When you say “whole thing”, I’m not clear on what you are referring to. This actuator motor part is the only thing that breaks.

      If you follow the steps in the video, it’s actually not difficult. It just looks complicated because you have to dissemble many parts but none are challenging to do. I’m in Houston suburbs.

      thanks for response. I have a dilema. I can't get access to the bolts on regulator to remove it. So any tips how to get access to the bolts since i can't lower the window?
      Would cutting the wires on the regulator allow the regulator to drop? @@DIYLifeSkills

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  11 месяцев назад

      @@scooter12368 I think you might be able to lower the entire regulator and window if you remove five 10mm bolts shown in 7:38 time mark. If you do this, put a towel at the bottom inside the door panel so that regulator and windo doesn't suddenly drop down. Once you can lower the entire thing, you should be able to access the inside bolts.
