Hire someone that will do the slab along with a plumber to so your plumbing gets installed before the concrete dudes do their thing. Hire the steel building people and they do their thing. Then a carpenter, they'll frame out the house parts. Then an electrician. Dry wall people after that. Paint it and get the plumber back to finish the electrical. Easy.
On erecting your new building. I’ve done PEMB for a very long time. Step 1: Order your Pre Engineered Metal Building and have it erected, GC no. 1 leaves. Have any below slab plumbing and electrical runs installed. All exterior doors and windows need to be installed at this time. Step 2: Now your second GC steps in to finish out the living spaces. With Plumbing, you only really need one water and sewer connection out of the slab in a central location. Since you are building the internal structure for the living space, you can run the pipes as you see fit through the walls. Or just build a Wet wall in the center of the living space with 2X6 or even 2X8, and orient all plumbing to that. Or even a Utility/Laundry room in the center of the living space.
I'm all about buying a property to conduct business. However, the plus side to renting space is, 100% of the rent payment is tax deductible. 5:49 I like to use long bar neodymium magnets for holding tarps and other similar sheets, they're easier to apply and remove, help to resist slight tugs and slightly uneven surfaces with one end often remaining secure, and depending on the thickness of the metal they're attaching to, sometimes make that metal more magnetic creating a stronger bond. Though i may just be imaging that, i once held a thick round magnet up to some round bar stock(placed some cardboard between so i could get this ~150lb magnet off later) and it made the end of that bar stock magnetic enough to pick up screws even though it was like 2 feet from the magnet

No pressure to get the "normal" videos rocking and rolling ASAP. We're in it to watch you succeed at life. Sometimes that means moving. Sometimes that means cars. But the real content is the life of Sarah. Take a freaking break once in a while. Go camping for a week (and take us along!!!) Go to a swap meet (and take us along of course!) Go to a water park or amusement park (and take us along!) Sure, we still want car content. But we also want Sarah to have a life and minimize stress. Everybody raise your digital hand and click like if you want Sarah to take a stress break once in a while.
I definitely feel that. I, too, am planning a barndominium to run my business out of and work on cars/wood/metal/music in. I need a geologist to verify the stability of the land and I'm not looking forward to finding out whether I need to blast to build or not.
Hi Sarah you are amazing! Moving and making a video, moving sucks. I was soooo worried with the title of this video. I totally understand your frustration, having the property and not being able to build what you need/want and the part about being a small business owner and wanting to put the rent/lease payments back into the business/ your pocket by owning the building. Have never heard the term barndominium before but I love it, I too want some day to build one on my property….. sigh fingers crossed!
Just think how far you have came from working in your garage to your new workshop, and how your following has grown, shows you are doing what everyone wants to see
I was on the same path with a barndominium a few years ago. I realized pretty quickly that there are companies pushing great deals on buildings that can be barndo's but they won't provide grading the land, pouring concrete. In addition, insulating, building the wooden framework inside and getting a contractor to warranty their work was impossible. I wasted 2 years looking for a GC that knew the specific build type, and after sifting thru 10 contractors and realizing they were all smoke and mirrors, I put the dream one shelf for later. I have architectural plans though for a 40 x 80 building with a second floor living space, an RV pad and lean too spot on the side, full solar and battery ready and a wrap around upper deck with a small elevated green house. Grey water re use and water capture system. One day I feel your frustration in an all to real way. Great new shop space for your new chapter, happy for your progress!
Why wouldyl you need a general contractor,. Two different building styles . You need a home builder that has the skill and training to build a dwelling inside a building. Your complicating this . Steeling building contractors don't do GC for homes and home GC don't do steel buildings.
There are a TON of barn-do contractors and builders in Texas. Not sure how many of them are willing to travel, but we have it down to a fine, home building art. Worth a look. Kudos for finding a way to land on your feet, regardless. Onto more content!!

Congrats on the new shop. I remember when you moved into the old one. Look at hiring a Construction Manager for the new shop build. You'll be buying your own time back and have some represent your interests.
THAT'S AMAZING! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I feel you on the construction woes...here in South Florida, 99% of the people that do literally ANYTHING with home construction, services, etc. are crooks. Can't wait to see what you get up to in that new shop!
I have engineered plans already, as well as a steel building manufacturer, concrete, dirt work, all of it lined up. What I don’t have is a decent general contractor to provide all of this to the county and bank for approval.
@@SarahnTuned I think what you need is a project manager. One that specialises in small industrial structures. Someone to create the plan, initiate it all and follow through as it progresses. Given your time constraints, it would be money well spent. You won't be paying them the whole duration of the build, only when they have to spend some time dealing with it.
@@SarahnTunedMiss Sarah, You are so much ahead in so many areas, please don’t let these happenings stop you. Here in NE Florida I submitted plans for my home to the county as an Owner/Builder, GC. Plans approved then the bank. Since I had $ to get through about 50% of projected costs, I got their approval… 25 years ago. Then a year ago I built a standalone garage as Owner/Contractor. The county in 25 years, had really changed their permitting process to ugly. Jumping through all their stinking hoops and two months later they finally issued the permits. All that said just to say, you are the Can-Do lady. Since you have the plans and subs lined up 🤞, approach your county as an owner/builder/contractor and give it a try. Then, if you get county approval take it to the bank. And please know, if you can be an owner/builder, you may… have to get your hands dirty on the project. I certainly did a huge portion of the permitted work on both of my projects. Sarah, Wishing you all the BEST! mh

This is the first time I’ve come across your page, I’m a general contractor licensed in AZ. Its sad to say but your challenge is all to common. If you’re interested, I’d love to talk to you about your project.
You appeared to have a rendered drawing of what you wanted to build on your property, so not sure if you hired an engineer or architect develop plans. Yes it costs, but in my experience as a structural engineer you will more than save on the construction costs and source or go to bid for a general contractor that can hire the right trades and get the job done. Things for you to keep in mind… 1. Code requirements: - Ensure fire ratings, insulation values (R-values/U-values), and egress requirements meet local building codes for mixed-use occupancy. - Soundproofing and fire separation between commercial and residential areas are typically required. 2. Building envelope (fancy term for exterior walls and roof): metal cladding or metal clad insulated panels. Curtain wall or glazing (glass) system may be ideal for where you want more daylighting for a living/office areas. 3. Interior partitions (walls): Use steel studs for framing ensuring for suitable code compliance as noted above. Interior finishes as desired. 4. Keep separated building mechanical for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (hvac) and separate subpanel electrical systems for the two occupancies.
For all the Robo Bubble used in the cleaning during the move. It’s a nice space, just wish it was your own. Feel free to support Sarah in her move and rent at the new place.

I'm looking forward to more about all of this stuff. Videos or no videos, on whatever cars, keep 'em coming!
Thanks!
Sharp intro. Right to the point.
No pressure to get the "normal" videos rocking and rolling ASAP. We're in it to watch you succeed at life. Sometimes that means moving. Sometimes that means cars. But the real content is the life of Sarah. Take a freaking break once in a while. Go camping for a week (and take us along!!!) Go to a swap meet (and take us along of course!) Go to a water park or amusement park (and take us along!)
Sure, we still want car content. But we also want Sarah to have a life and minimize stress.
Everybody raise your digital hand and click like if you want Sarah to take a stress break once in a while.
Seconded
All in favor, signify by replying, "Aye". AYE!
@@duanekc AYE!
One day
I feel your frustration in an all to real way. Great new shop space for your new chapter, happy for your progress!
R&R buildings. They speclize in metal buildings. They also are on youtube. Can tell, you are very happy and excited to be in your new place. Congrats!
I need a GC, the metal building part is not the issue.
Why wouldyl you need a general contractor,. Two different building styles . You need a home builder that has the skill and training to build a dwelling inside a building. Your complicating this . Steeling building contractors don't do GC for homes and home GC don't do steel buildings.
Awesome space, moving scan suck but this a positive time. Keep pushing, their must be a builder out there for your project. 👍
There are a TON of barn-do contractors and builders in Texas. Not sure how many of them are willing to travel, but we have it down to a fine, home building art. Worth a look. Kudos for finding a way to land on your feet, regardless. Onto more content!!
Wow, I've noticed you are now over 700K subs! Congrats! Your hard work is paying off. I subscribed when you were at 20k subs and working out of your garage.
This is awesome! Been following you for years now and I was shocked to see the big change! Here's wishing you all the best from Canada!
You are freaking hilarious. Congrats in the new shop ❤
You’re so amazing, and not just because you’re a babe, or just because you’re the coolest car chick on the planet.
I guess you know your viewers better than anyone, but who wouldn’t want to watch you in action breaking down the old place or growing into the new space.
Love you Sarah, just keep being you awesome self please.
Great new building . Congrats, its amazing how have an organized space makes you more productive. Don't forget the fresh light and air..
There are a couple of RUclips videos about Amish contractors doing an excellent job building steel and wood Barndominiums. One woman was in your situation, other contractors had failed, then an Amish crew did an outstanding and rapid job.
Yeah.. I’m in Arizona not PA lol
@@SarahnTuned Maybe they'll come down for the Winter, cut you a deal. They have their own semi-trucks and RVs.
@@SarahnTuned Amish do work in all States not just PA...not sure what your point is?
@Jumalten001 there are Amish in Indiana.
@@DrDiff952 They get around.. Still looking for the video link. Not affiliated.
Hope you love the new space as much as we do. It is great watching you solve problems, be it with cars, moving, cleaning, etc. The wit and commentary you provide makes it all the better. You bring lots of smiles to the world. Hope you get some smiles back yourself.
The barndominium thing seems beyond frustrating. The new shop is fantastic! Congratulations!
On to bigger and better things, congratulations in the new place. Have you ever heard of a company called Dwell in LA? They manufacture small homes off site but specifically designed to your site. Just an idea.
i did the sme in 2005 but had the focus sideways in the air awesome job Sarah glad to see the focus running again!!!
Congratulations on the new space. As for building your own barndominium, build it yourself! I guarantee all of us we’ll follow along. Your more than capable
I, for one, am so happy that you're still going to be filming and showing skill levels that are unusual to many of us... yeah...!!!!!!
An enormously surprising and entertaining video! Your new shop looks awesome and will hopefully save you lots of time having to jockey vehicles around to gain lift access for car review filming. I’m amazed that you pulled off this move while keeping up your video release schedule AND a livestream for us to enjoy. New subscribers and viewers should watch a few of your earliest videos to see how a truly passionate person can achieve their goals through talent and hard work. Extraordinary, Sarah… 👍👍👍
Congrats on the new shop. I remember when you moved into the old one. Look at hiring a Construction Manager for the new shop build. You'll be buying your own time back and have some represent your interests.
Glad to see another video, Sarah! Been a long while!
THAT'S AMAZING! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I feel you on the construction woes...here in South Florida, 99% of the people that do literally ANYTHING with home construction, services, etc. are crooks. Can't wait to see what you get up to in that new shop!
Engineered plans. Turns an overwhelming process into a straight forward project. Stay blessed.
Is there anyway that you can share your buildplan? Potentially want to copy.
Sarah, Wishing you all the BEST! mh
I'm as happy watching shop builds as watching car builds. You do you, and we'll just watch
Only person who can make a moving video interesting and entertaining. Well done Airman!
Super Congratulations to you Sarah!
Please stop being so hard on yourself. You’ve done a lot more than most and you’re creating content 703k of us have watched. You’re killing it friend.
704k now 💪
You are just the greatest! Everyone who watches and appreciates your channel needs to step up and help support you in this new endeavor! Much respect ✊
Thanks for getting us up to date on your new garage space. What an undertaking! Once again you amaze and impress.
Congratulations on your New Shop ! Your Work and Attention to Detail is Superb ! Your Editing is Stellar ! Thank You for Dedicating So Much of your Life for us to Enjoy your Channel
I feel you on the stale gas stank. I think I'm still recovering from draining 30-year-old leaded gas out of a Camaro when I started restoration with my dad. Eew.
That was a lot of hard work! Nice to see Charlie and Ozzie helping... but poor Charlie and his back.. ouch!
Wonderful Sarah!! 🎉😊 Congratulations on your new space
Wow. Just when I’m thinking you couldn’t get more fascinating you pull this off! Congrats young lady!
Your new workspace will be much better once you are settled in. I am looking forward to all your new content. I like your channel.
Nice to see the new shop, hope that you can build your own soon.
You are worth it 🇸🇪
I ❤PBS quote. Enjoy your new space.
This is sooooo AWESOME! I remember how exciting it was when you moved into the shop you moved out of so this just great!
This is the first time I’ve come across your page, I’m a general contractor licensed in AZ. Its sad to say but your challenge is all to common. If you’re interested, I’d love to talk to you about your project.
Haven’t watched a video of yours in a while and WOW you are looking better and better Sarah. Look forward to following you along your journey.
Things for you to keep in mind…
1. Code requirements:
- Ensure fire ratings, insulation values (R-values/U-values), and egress requirements meet local building codes for mixed-use occupancy.
3. Interior partitions (walls):
Use steel studs for framing ensuring for suitable code compliance as noted above.
