    To answer your question about the difference in recorded distance walked... GPS usually does not work indoors, so wearable devices will use an average stride length to estimate distance travelled. If your actual stride length is longer than average, it will understate your distance walked. If you try a long walk outside, and if you have your phone with you, the distance measured will be more accurate.

    • @chrismathews663
      @chrismathews663 2 месяца назад +9

      I could be wrong but I think unless you change it to your actual step length, it defaults to 31 inches. I like to use GPS whenever possible because it's way more accurate!

      There is a procedure to calibrate the Apple Watch to your stride length on their website. You have to walk where you have GPS signal for about 20 minutes. It says that this can be over multiple sessions.

      The watch has a motion sensor that tracks arm swing. So smaller steps mean more frequent arm swing. Plus the fact that you are hold the camera the whole time which affects your arm swing.

    Hi Sarah and Sarah! Great seeing both of you together again! Wish it was a longer video. That big truck up on stands weighs about 17,000-20,000 lbs. They use lifts like that where I get my truck serviced at. Those lifts can pick up at least 22,000 lbs my old truck weighed that much. And if you have overhead clearance they go high enough you would be able to stand up and not have to stoop down. They aren’t cheap tho. And you have be careful about stuff because if you drop say a clutch when it hits the concrete you hope it doesn’t hit your foot cause it’ll hurt! Stay cool

    12:29 Sarah, that's a Chevy Opala, made by Chevrolet Brazil, had the body of a Opel Rekord C but the front end, and rear end were inspired by American muscle cars, the straight six engine also came from the US.

    • @Ltbookum
      @Ltbookum 2 месяца назад +2

      Also know a Opel Commodore; the Record had a CIH inline 4 the Commodore a 6; bespoke Euro GM/Opel engines. The first design draf of it apparently originated from Australia where it is know as the granddaddy of the Holden Commodore series. Powered by a Holden V8. Considered very valuable as classic these days. Sharing the body style but all unique. A lot more so then the badge swapping they do these days. I think the SS front was for the US Opel model that they also released. Never very popular next to the bigger brothers it was inspired by and thus rare in the US today.

    Thanks for always taking time to give attention to the less covered stuff; that's where most of my interest lies usually. BTW, the "Cuda" at 10:03 is definitely a retro bodied late model Challenger, which is why they all have modern Challenger dashes and interiors (and rooflines, fender lines, window shapes, mirrors, etc. etc. etc.). One last thing, about the step counter thing... you guys walked the same distance, but little Sarah just used more steps. I suspect those step counters estimate what counts as a step based on either the user's data (like height or whatever) or more likely, using some sort of SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) based on what an average step is for a human. But yeah, short legs is gonna mean more steps per mile. Credit to her for keeping up!

    • @jergervasi3331

      Basicaly that means that neither watch is telling the truth.

    • @CamaroSkooter
      @CamaroSkooter 2 месяца назад +7

      @@delukxy They're both estimates based on average stride length for an average height woman. So it overestimates for one Sarah and underestimates for the other Sarah.

    • @MikeSmith-km9ff
      @MikeSmith-km9ff 2 месяца назад

      These phones and watches have GPS. the distance traveled shouldn't be calculated/estimated by stride, I agree with Sarah, they should be a lot closer than they reported.

    • @winexprt
      @winexprt 2 месяца назад +2

      @@MikeSmith-km9ff It's not solely determined by GPS, it's also by foot impacts. I used to work in a large retail shop/warehouse indoors and would log thousands of steps a day inside with no access to a GPS signal.

    • @CamaroSkooter
      @CamaroSkooter 2 месяца назад

      @@MikeSmith-km9ff That's probably true when outside and they can pick up a GPS signal, but many devices are not powerful enough to acquire a GPS signal when indoors, especially inside a metal-framed building.

    Thanks for this coverage that's not yet another video with all the same cars! Very interesting. Welcome back Sarahs (x2)! So glad to see you both! Regarding your watch question: Usually they measure the number of steps: shorter step length = more steps for the same distance. But if the watch just multiplies the number of steps by an average length, you end up with the discrepencies you've shown. It's usually possible to adjust this in the settings (but I don't own an iPhone) Otherwise, have you considered that Sarah did walk more than you ? 😉
