    To answer your question about the difference in recorded distance walked... GPS usually does not work indoors, so wearable devices will use an average stride length to estimate distance travelled. If your actual stride length is longer than average, it will understate your distance walked. If you try a long walk outside, and if you have your phone with you, the distance measured will be more accurate.

    • @chrismathews663
      @chrismathews663 Час назад

      I could be wrong but I think unless you change it to your actual step length, it defaults to 31 inches. I like to use GPS whenever possible because it's way more accurate!

    The watch tracks your "step" by its own movement/shocks it detects. It also takes an average distance for 1 step. That's why small Sarah has more distance

      @@delukxy They're both estimates based on average stride length for an average height woman. So it overestimates for one Sarah and underestimates for the other Sarah.

    Thanks for always taking time to give attention to the less covered stuff; that's where most of my interest lies usually. BTW, the "Cuda" at 10:03 is definitely a retro bodied late model Challenger, which is why they all have modern Challenger dashes and interiors (and rooflines, fender lines, window shapes, mirrors, etc. etc. etc.). One last thing, about the step counter thing... you guys walked the same distance, but little Sarah just used more steps. I suspect those step counters estimate what counts as a step based on either the user's data (like height or whatever) or more likely, using some sort of SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) based on what an average step is for a human. But yeah, short legs is gonna mean more steps per mile. Credit to her for keeping up!

    I know you'd never have the time, Sarah, but with how much you get into video production for your channel, I think you'd enjoy attending the NAB event there in the Vegas convention center every April. Just as big and, from a video perspective, just as mind blowing. I used to attend them regularly.
    Keep up the great work! You have the best channel!

    Great walkaround, one of the better ones I've seen. As for tracking your distance, these things can be a little off. During the summer I walk the exact same route to my local beach several times a week and the recorded distance varies day to day. It also sometimes thinks I'm 6 feet in the air. LOL, whatever!

    The distance error is due tom the fact you take shorter steps when walking with a shorter person and a shorter person takes longer steps when walking with a longer person. So both your hight settings in your watches becomes a bit off when walking together.

    Distance is how many steps you do and how long your stride is, which varies with height of the individual. 😊

    • @riaanlouw1874
      @riaanlouw1874 Час назад

      But. Distance is measurable item, so it should be the same for both. The only difference they should have had, was the number of steps, as that is dependant on stride length. So, as a lot of other people mentioned, both Sarah's average stgride length has either not been input, or not been calculated, so the watches uses a default setting. Because short Sarah has a shorter stride, meaning more steps, it thinks the distance travelled were further. I don't have Fruity watches, but in my sports watch, if you walk a distance outside, the GPS capable watch measure the actual distance, and looks at your stride length (either based on stride sensors in your shoe, or the number of G-Force blips it picked up, when your feet hit the ground.). It then uses that actual calculation in your sports watch, in case you use it on treadmills or other indoor sports, whre there is no GPS coverage)
